I would have enjoyed my Spanish sardine sandwich and coffee if it only came with potato chips. This is a great combo and I have always enjoyed this sandwich with potato chips. I'm a sucker for potatoes and I would probably trade up a good hearty meaty breakfast, lunch and dinner for a bag of Jack n Jill potato chips or VCut.

Admittedly, it was a slip of the tongue, when I unintentionally ordered a half Spanish sardine sandwich a la carte and then followed it up with a cup of brewed coffee.

I was expecting my sandwich and coffee to come with my potato chips. But it didn't. I inquired why my sandwich didn't come with potato chips but the cashier advised that i would have to pay an additional P25, or she would have to re-punch my order as a sandwich and coffee as a combo so I can get my potato chips. Sadly, I used my debit card to pay for the meal and I dislike engaging the cashier for refunds to the card as it usually takes quite sometime to see the refund.

We have always loved dining at CafeFrance, but this visit just made us felt less special. Oh well.

This was a long time ago but I found the place cozy. The staff are friendly but a bit inattentive. The food is good but pricey for the serving. I forgot what the food in the picture is called but I remember it was good. Too saucy for the amount of pasta and made me want to order rice. My friend ordered the sardine sandwich thing and it was good too.

Omelet never got better. This country garden omelet is not only perfect for our late lunch but also great to wake us up on a chilly (brrr!) Christmas Eve afternoon as it comes with freshly brewed coffee!

This nugget comes with every order of a marguerite meal (and other meals as well), and at only P270, the meal already includes a cup of brewed coffee, shrimp pesto pasta and a bacon and ham sandwich! Sweet!

Mom's new favorite place is Cafe France and she's so in love with their Seafood Marinara.

Since I already had breakfast, I decided to have a salted caramel cronut. 128513

It was a tad bit too sweet for me, I prefer their chocolate cronut.

To satisfy our summer craving for Ice Cream the little sister and I ventured off to ATC to get a blizzard.

But then we saw CafeFrance's ad about their Gelato and we just had to try it. 128539

There were only three flavors; Vanilla, Dark Chocolate and Pistachio. So it wasn't that hard to pick what to eat.

I had the pistachio and the sister had the dark chocolate.

It costs P70 and the scoop was really tiny. It was served with a waffle crisp and sprinkled with almond pieces, topped with syrup.

Personally I didn't like the chocolate syrup. Had I known they would be adding that I could've stopped them. 128554

The pistachio didn't taste like pistachio. It was way too creamy and the chocolate syrup was overpowering the taste. The dark chocolate one was good, it kind of reminded me of pudding snack packs tho. 128531

They could really improve on this.

Been here a couple of times, specially last January when they offer huge discounts on breads every Friday. If I crave healthy yet filling brunch or dinner, I go to this place and order my favorite-Pierre Tray Couture which consist of seafood deluxe clubhouse and seafood marinara with a choice of coffee or juice :)

My New Year's resolution: Hold Christmas shopping until January! We are actually mesmerized by the number of stores actually participating in the post Christmas sales offered by the malls - and they do give good (even better) discounts as compared to the Pre-Christmas Sale.

CafeFrance' participation: Buy1Take1 on breads for all Fridays of January! Tried this one first at CafeFrance SM Makati last week and got to bring home a bagful of breads at less than P200 which surprised Espie! She loved the ensaymada (at only P75 for two) and the croissant (at around P40+ for two already)

Visiting ATC yesterday, Espie remembered my P200 "surprise" last week. We tried their ham and cheese croissant (@P89 for two) for merienda (with 2 cups of brewed coffee para may panulak) and got another pair of ensaymadas for dinner (yes, dinner talaga!). Oh, and we also bought two loaves of bread for the weekend (I think that was around P400+ total for the croissant, ensaymada and bread loaf pairs in Espie's receipt). Taking the P160 coffee bill out, we spent only P240+ for all the breads. Panalo!

I do admire CafeFrance for putting this promo up. Sana all year round ganito haha

Come one, come all! We still have three Fridays to go!

The smoked salmon sandwich used to be my favourite sandwich in Cafe France and they recently changed it!!! Noooooo!!! 128557128557128557128557

I'm not crazy about the deep fried potato wedges. I was fine with the potato chips they used to serve. They took out the egg mayo spread too but that's okay, I can live with that.

What really disappointed me was the bread. They used to serve this on either white or wheat bread and now it's served bocadillo bread style and I dislike it so much because it's tough and it's hard to eat. You can break your fingers trying to slice through it and it doesn't work even if you bite it. That's how tough it is. I ended up having to remove the salmon and the dressing and then tearing the bread with my hands just so I could eat it!

I used to eat this same type of bread when I studied in Spain. They called it Bocadillo and I've never taken a liking to it because it never gets soft even when you heat it up. It was served to me my foster parents every night and also in gas stations during stop overs. They even serve calamares inside it! Its jawbreaking hahaha

Got to try CaféFrance's version of the cronut. The chocolate one tasted just like a chocolate croissant but I must say the chocolate itself was pretty good. I've yet to try Krispy Kreme's Krispy kroissant and Wildflour's cronuts.

it was 9748 cronuts 127849127849127849 for me last weekend! was able to taste Dolcelatte, Yamato and CafeFrance kronatzz.

Dolcelatte (Php110/pc) - generous fillings and the texture was really a hybrid of a croissant and doughnut!

Yamato (Php120/pc) - generous fillings, slightly oily, felt like i was eating a fancy pinoy donut/bicho bicho. couldn't really find the croissant texture.

CafeFrance (Php 99) - better and cheaper version of Wildflour's. literally a doughnut-shaped croissant. had a crunchy/flakey texture all the way, quite oily and i'm not sure if it had fillings.

so far, i like Dolcelatte's the best. hoping it rains Cafe Jeepney cronuts next! haha

thanks to my donors!! 128513

Healthy eating ang peg. I haven't been back to this cafe for quite a while so I was very pleased to find out that they've maintained the quality of their food. Their salad w/ oriental dressing (P180) eeez yummehh! And my son enjoyed his pasta carbonara(P135) 128523128076128077
