Closing BOGO. Not sure if it's a daily thing. Came here on a Monday night. There's usually a short line here before closing or that whenever I pass by there's nothing left, so this is the first time I've been able to avail of their promo.

I got a couple of turnovers, cheese rolls, plain and almond croissants for about 250. Some croissants had 2 sizes available, a regular and a mini. Most of what was left really looked like they were the left overs for the day. The croissants soft already, a lot were wrinkled am not in their best shape. Reheating in a toaster is a must to enjoy these.

Good deal if you to happen be there when it's offered. But not to go out of your way for.

Had an errand at RCBC 2 weeks ago, I was early so I decided to grab something to eat here. Ordered their seafood pasta with sandwich. Was okay, thought the pasta was a lil overcooked but twas a nice meal.

Seafood Linguine Soup - is a tomato based soup with linguine pasta, mussels, shrimp, squid and kani sticks; served with 2 slices of garlic french bread 128077128077128077128077
This is yummy. Alright kind of yummy.

Minus 1 star coz the serving bowl, or should I say cup, is too small.

In the background is their S'choquette. This has been a constant favorite of mine for years now. Well, before the birth of the cronut, there was the s'chouquette but not too many people know about it. CafeFrance marketing peeps should up their game.

The cronut craze in Manila is still piping hot which means it'll take a while before the lines disappear and before we get settled to the point where the quantity demanded by consumers will equal the quantity supplied by producers, resulting to an economic equilibrium! (May ganon? Lol.)

Until then, I shall settle for the easy way of acquiring my ever favorite croissant variations - which means crossing the street to reach RCBC in Ayala (at any time of the day) for a visit to good ol CafeFrance.

I am a HUGE fan of croissants. If I could only eat one type of carbohydrate for the rest of my life, I'd choose a croissant. I just don't have the patience to wake up at 6am and compete with the rest of Makati to get the so-called "early riser guarantee" of bagging a cronut from Yamato or Wildflour. I really wish I'm friends with Edwin I or Jennie V kasi balita ko sila umuubos lagi ng cronuts sa Yamato. 128541 Hehe! Hi guys! 128075

To satisfy my perpetual craving for a cronut without any hassle whatsoever, I opted for CafeFrance's dessert croissants instead....for now.

I had me three croissant renditions in varying profiles:

128077 Chocolate Croissant - flaky, soft, buttery, with just a light chocolate filling inside and some light choco drizzle on top. Yum!

128077 Choco Walnut Croissant - almost the same as above BUT this time with a thick coverage of creamy chocolate all over the top and a generous splash of sliced walnuts. Double yum!

128077 Chouquette - now this one is not a croissant but more of a choux pastry but flakier than cream puffs; and CafeFrance's is shaped like a log instead of shaped in a ball-like figure; it had a very very light, almost impossible to see glaze on top; and then sprinkled with a dust of sugar. Triple yum! This has been a childhood favorite.

Craving satisfied!

I therefore conclude that prior to exposing myself to different kinds of cronuts in the market, I shall first rekindle my love for old time favorites. 128515

Now when do I start the hunt for actual cronuts?

P.S.
Minus one star because there were no lemon slices in their pitcher of water. It's something I look forward to every time I visit CafeFrance 128532

They currently have the Buy One Take One on all breads every Friday of January. The breads are always fresh and well-made. Doors open for this special offer at 6am and there was already a healthy number of people waiting.

Other days, the shops offers a variety of sandwiches that are always made fresh from quality ingredients. Definitely a must-try is their coffee bun especially if it just came out of the oven!
