I love Cafe France...My 3yr old daughter and I love their pan au chocolat...I also love their brownie brittle it's a MUST try for those of you who love chocolate and brownies like me!! I also love their iced mocha...I haven't tried their main courses and other snacks because I always buy and order the usual...one in Alabang is good also...tho I don't recommend buying the ones located at the gasoline stations because most of the time their stocks are a day old....one time we went to Bataan and had a stop over I saw Cafe France bought the usual and itvs not good its 1 day old pan au chocolat it doesnvt taste bad because I'm pretty sure they stored it well but you'll just know that the bread is not new itvs hard to tear....sad....Ihope they do something about it...

I was having gastrointestinal problems so I had it checked in the hospital. On my way home, I chanced upon CafeFrance's version of cronuts. They call it French Donuts.

Ding! Ding! Ding!

Suddenly, I don't feel so sick anymore. The classic chocolate is good because of the chocolate sauce. The salted caramel is too sweet. Both of them are very oily. I finished them both even if I am not allowed to eat fatty foods.

You know what they say about anything that's bawal. 128522

My first cronut!! 128540

I did not plan on buying or trying their version of cronuts. Heck, i didn't even know they had a version of it. I only go to cafe france because i love their chouquettes. So, after buying milk tea from infinitea, i told my sister that i'd buy chouquettes (trivia: i like munching on something while drinking milk tea)

While looking for chouquettes in the display rack, i saw that they had this new pastry that looked like cronuts. I didn't ask the saleslady because it was kind of obvious that they were, in fact, cronuts and there was this small standee that had the details of it (they call their version 'french donuts'). I was hesitant to buy at first since they are expensive-90php a piece. Not as expensive as wildflour's, but still expensive. In the end, my curiosity got the best of me and i bought one- classic chocolate (with 2 chouquettes, of course128540) the other flavors are lemon custard and another one(sorry, i forgot). There were no lines and i don't think they have a limit to how many you can buy or until what time. 128522 If you get it to go, they give it to you in a container so if you're clumsy, like me, your cronut won't get beat up. I dropped the bag two times on our way home128517 and the cronut only got messed up a bit. Yay?

The french donuts were good but veeeeery oily. I mean, really oily. Just look at the picutre of my fingers 128070. It had chocolate on top, chocolate on the inside and a coating of oil. Also, I think that the chocolate on the inside wasn't distributed equally. It was drooping and as i ate eat, most of the chocolate inside flowed into the container(still ate it though 128518). The chocolate wasn't too sweet and they put just enough for it to be just slightly heavy (don't know if it's because of the chocolate or the oil). As for the pastry, It was flaky and did not require much chewing. As i said, it was good but you can't ignore its oiliness.

If i were to pick between a cronut/ french donut and a chouquette, i'd totally pick the chouquette. I'd probably buy again, but not any time soon. I'll stick to chouquettes and butter croissants 128522

Btw, check out brothers green on youtube. They have a video about how to make cronuts at home 128522 it looked really easy. If only i could find puff pastry here, i'd make one myself.

My first bite of the cronuts craze. I got the salted caramel of Cafe France and it was heavenly sweet. However I can only take half of the sugar overload.

Too much sweetness. 128522
