As I watch, the waves from the shore look fun and almost innocent as they crest and then crash over one another. I can taste the salt in the air and the sun reflects off the water in brilliant colors of gold, blue and red, just like rainbow. The clear blue sky with birds soaring over head searching for food and once in a while a bird would get lucky and snatch a fish from the water, the scenery was all laid out like an exotic nature drawing in an art gallery. Everything on Camayan Resorts has its own unique feel and it has its own way of making you feel calm and relaxed. 128584128556

When I want to have a quick escape to the beach from the city madness, I can only think of one place and that’s Camayan Resort in Subic, Zambales.

Some people would normally go to Subic to visit Ocean Adventure, Tree Top Adventure and Zoobic Safari but Subic was never really a prime option to satisfy one’s craving for Vitamin Sea. People would probably think of Laiya first.

Last August, my friends planned to spend the weekend in Subic. They initially opted to stay at a hotel located outside Freeport Zone but I insisted that we book rooms at Camayan Resort. A few great things to expect at the resort, insistence and begging got them to say YES!

Although it was approaching the “BER’’ season, the sun was up and scorching. I was glad that the weather played side by side with my plan to stay here because I did not want my friends to get disappointed after spending over their budget just for accommodation. It was not too windy that day and the sky was clear and so is the water. As we walked along the beach to our hotel rooms, I knew then and there that they were surprised by how clear the water is.

We booked two superior rooms that came with free breakfast buffet. We booked the room through Agoda and it’s PHP1500 less than the price you pay when you book directly at the hotel or through their website. Great Deal!

Our rooms were located at the beach front. They provide complete in-room amenities and there are two things that I specifically like: (1) They provide a bathroom and beach towel (2) Internet connection was fast (I know we are on a vacation but you just can’t restrict yourself from posting a really nice photo – Digital Itch.) The rooms still have the 90’s TV though with just about 10 to 15 channels but it was not a big deal for all of us. We only turned on the TV once during our stay.

We rested for an hour after a 2 and half hour drive and we went swimming. I am always ready for the beach so I had my snorkeling gear with me. :D My friends have no idea that Camayan Beach is eco-rich with marine life. I had them borrow my snorkeling mask and they were all stumped when they saw a lot of fishes of different species. They eventually rented snorkeling gears from the dive shop for PHP250 / 3 Hours (I think so was the price).

Camayan Resort fastened a floating platform (if that’s what you call it) 50 meters away from the shore. We got tired and decided to settle on the platform while enjoying the view of the mountain and the sunset. Sunset?! Yes, we spent that much time in the water.

We decided to go out for dinner because they all wanted to try Meat plus Café and went back to the hotel. We had a few bottles at the Sand Bar. It was really nice to spend that time with my closest friends with a few drinks while enjoying the music and the view of the Subic Harbor. We didn’t stay too late since I planned for us to go kayaking the next day.

We woke up early and went straight to the restaurant for breakfast. We enjoyed the variety of Filipino breakfast favorites and I had a separate plate only for Tocino. We all liked the choices and food was great! We needed that before a physically demanding activity.

By 9:00 AM, we were already paddling to the mangrove tunnels. It’s nice to be with friends especially when everyone’s competitive side kicks in – Amazing Race na ‘to. We stopped at the sunken Japanese ship and went straight to the mangroves. We paddled lightly as we enter the tunnel so as not scare away the wild ducks. It’s my second time doing this but I was still enjoying being surrounded by hundreds of mangroves like it’s the first time. It’s very quiet inside and all you can hear are ducks quacking and the leaves of the trees brushing against each other. (If I can only do this every day).

As we reached the end, we had a quick talk with our tour guide and he explained to us why Mangroves are important and why it’s essential to protect them.

We spent about 30 minutes inside the mangrove tunnels and on our way back, we were keeping things cool and everyone was silent. I can sense that not everyone wanted the fun to end. I was looking forward to see a Pawikan swimming alongside just like what happened during my first kayaking experience here. It wasn't neasting season yet so we didn’t see any but even so, we all had a great time – it was very tiring but definitely worth it.

We got back at around 11:00 AM and check out time is at 12:00 NN. We still wanted to go for a swim so we requested for a late checkout and they gave us an extra hour. Cool!

This was a post birthday celebration with my friends and we all had a super fun vacation. Camayan Resort has so much to offer. You can actually explore the sunken Japanese ships here that are now home to marine life. You can also take diving classes here of all sorts, basic entry to rescue, it’s all here and it is PADI certified. Accommodation, Service and Adventures, Camayan Resort has it all covered. And I am looking forward to my next stay.

It was my first time scuba diving. Our instructor was really good. He was kind and really helpful. He taught us all the things that we need to know before the activity and he demonstrated it before we do it individually in order for us to get use to breathing under water. After the hand-on practice, together with our instructor dived in the slightly deeper part of the beach and there we're able to see beautiful schools of fished with different colors. It was an activity worth remembering. To experience and appreciate the life under water, scuba diving is one of the bucket list.

I went to Camayan Beach Resort this weekend for one thing only - to kayak among mangroves.

ACCOMMODATION
-A deluxe room at the Bay Breeze. Room is neat, sizeable and has a balcony. Complete in-room amenities are provided. The TV has only 10 channels but no big deal, I only spent 5 hours in my room to sleep. The bathroom has a bathtub with hot and cold shower. PHP5500 (breakfast included)

THE REEF RESTAURANT
-they offer delicious international food. Try their pasta specifically Carbonara and Fruti di Mare. Also, get their Tocino for breakfast. It's really good!

Prince range PHP250-350

ADVENTURE

Camayan Beach Resort can get you acquainted to nature. The shoreline is home to Sea Turtle eggs. I saw a few baby turtles coming out of their nests. Not too far from the shore, you get to see different kinds of fish just don't forget to bring your snorkeling gear.

Kayak
Experience kayaking at its best. We set out from the resort, crossed the open water at 98FT deep to get to the other side of the island where the mangroves are. I experienced paddling alongside Pawikans and flying fishes that are just as excited as I am. I have never seen fishes jumping out of the water chasing each other. I got myself amazed when a pawikan's head pops out of the water to get some air.

Halfway, we stopped at a waterbuoy. It's the exact spot where the Japanese Patrol ship sank. I looked down and saw a huge long metal beaming below that's now home to marine life.

As we approached the Mangroves, I was advised by my guide to paddle quietly so I won' scare the wild ducks and the monkeys. As we cruised under the mangrove tunnels, we met some of our fellow Aetas taking a bath while some were searching for crabs to eat. We kept steady for 50 meters until we reached the end where the guide gave a short talk about the importance of mangroves and how to protect them. We stayed there for about 10 minutes tonrelax before we head back.

The activity was for an hour and half long. It was tiring because you have to paddle against the current but it's all worth it.

Mangrove Tour kayaking with guide only costs PHP500 per person.

I would like to come back soon. It was a weekend well spent! Thanks to insights.looloo.com that lead me to this exciting and unforgettable adventure.

I would have to say, i didn't expect to enjoy this beach. I thought it was gonna be crowded and dirty but I was wrong. The shore was actually clean. And for 350 for the day trip, it was actually cheap.

There were few cottages available for rent but we decided to just lay down a beach blanket under the shady part of the beach. The sand has a grayish light brown color but further down the shore, there are actually big rocks. The water is pretty clear so its easy to spot these rocks. Also, corals and sea grass are also be visible.

We were enjoying lounging around and getting our tan on when suddenly, a group of monkeys approached us. At first it was cute because they look so tiny. HAHA but when they started to circle around us, we felt that they were ganging up on us 128553128553128553 i was actually scared since all of our things (gopro, cellphones) were easily reachable haha good thing they were distracted by other people and decided to leave us alone HAHA

all in all, we enjoyed this spontaneous day. Any day spent on the beach is a day well spent :)

Our department at work had an overnight planning session here recently. The place is quite nice, there aren't too many people probably coz it's not peak season. You can do a lot of outdoor activities plus it's right in front of ocean adventure (same owners). Room looks & feels old but acceptable especially since the toilet is clean128522

What I didn't like though is the food. I've had buffet breakfast, lunch & dinner in the resort's restaurant so I got to try a number of dishes. Sadly, the chef seriously needs to learn how to cook128540 If you ever stay in this resort, never order their flavorless carbonara, any pasta or pork dishes128078 Better stick with fish.

If you live far, I suggest you try other resorts or maybe just eat somewhere else if you're staying here128156

This place gave me a different kind of happiness 128522

It's a very quiet paradise with cozy and beautiful rooms to choose from for a reasonable prize! 128077128522

Wanting to have an out of town trip so bad, we managed to discover this place that is by the way is just 2-3 hr drive from
bulacan if you would take SCTEX :))

We did a bay cruise when we got here and it just left us all in awe 128525 How beautiful the place is and how blessed we are to live such a beautiful life (ok im being so emotional already but srsly it's beautifuuuuuul 10084️) We were lucky to be accompanied by very nice staff and the boat captain even gave us a free kayak ride for an hour! Yayyy!!!

We had tons of fuuuuuuuuun and we are planning to go back and stay there for a bit longer.

If you want a quick summer getaway, I recommend you go here because the ocean adventure, Zoobic safari and tree top adventure are also super near 128077128077128077

I love this place, it's near and affordable. There's so much to do, they have frisbees, volleyball, ktv, snorkeling, cruise and kayak. We tried the kayak and it was so fun (a little bit tiring). Kudos to kuya Eric who let us use the kayak even though it was already rented by another company.

We are now at the tail-end of summer! 127774

Good thing my mom suggested to spend our weekend in Camayan Beach Resort. We got 2 de luxe rooms for a group of 8 and each have two comfortable queen size beds with satellite TV, free (slowwww) wifi and an individual terrace. Our rooms are huge and both bathrooms have big tubs with towels and a decent number of toiletries. No "amoy lumlom" factor as what Avery M experienced during her stay (buti na lang!128517).

The hotel is a couple of steps to the beach and it's just next door with Ocean Adventure. Their food is so-so and I can hear their acoustic band from my room. 127908

If you want the beach to be close to your hotel, then this is the place! It is also near to ocean adventure.

Room-wise, I was not thrilled. So-so. There's amoy-lumlom kasi. Or maybe in our room lang? Maybe the floor gets wet all the time because of wet clothes and slippers from the guests.

In terms of surroundings and beach, it was really clean. At 5:30 am, manongs were already cleaning. We spotted some monkeys on the beach pa.

The food was also not bad. For a 2 night stay, we just ate here in the same restaurant. They had some fire dancing too.

If u plan to go to Subic with the kids then you may want to try this out.
