Brought my family w/ me to Canvas based on the great first impression I had last time I was in Cebu. Alas, the second time around was a mixed bag.

The appetizers and the dessert were spot on. Very good. But the main dishes were uninspired and blah. I don't think we'll ever come back after this visit.

Whenever you find yourself in Cebu, do yourself a favor and dine at Canvas. They serve Australian Cuisine.

I had the Tomato Soup, which hands down was the best tomato soup I have ever tasted. Then for the main course I had the Grilled Porkloin which was cooked to perfection. No overcoomed rubberlike meat here.

The service was top notch as well and the ambiance was spot on. Even though I was dining alone, I never felt lonely because I was very well taken care of.

Two thumbs up!

The place looks very sleek and modern that reflect on their presentation of food. The taste of their food however, is just ordinary. I mean nothing really special as i expected. Maybe we didn't order the right things though. The menu looks a bit confusing considering i'm not really sure what's food australia has to serve.

At first I thought the descriptions of dishes were a little weird but then I tasted the food! Try the coconut parmesan crusted chicken filled with spinach. Great variety of drinks too. A "must eat" when you visit Cebu.

I order 5 dishes and they were all GOOD! MY two favorites are found at the top pics. The pork medallions in Grain mustard sauce with tiger prawn and pesto fettuccin and the second one, which I sadly forgot what the name was but it had pork and rice in it. They used jasmine rice which made it yummier. The crispy baby squid with fried garlic and labuyo chili flakes is a stand out dish! I just love everything! Their pasta is good and quite saucy too. The pork is tender. The meatballs for the spaghetti is heavenly. The service is really GOOD. we didnt wait long for our food to be served. It only took about 5 minutes. The price is reasonable too. A must try!

Really fresh salads and lovely calamansi dressing .This salad has a tangy taste with the cheese balances the acidity.it is crisp and light.

We've been wandering around looking for some place to eat and we've decided to eat at Canvas Bistro Bar & Gallery.
It has a cozy ambiance that you can just chat and dine there. They have paintings hanging on the wall. (And i've noticed that most of the paintings were painted by Beatrix Tan, idk it's just, yeah..^_^) It's a European cuisine and i ordered their twisted caesar salad and it's delicioso! Together with a citrus soda something, i forgot the name coz i changed it coz it's supposed to be the citrus crush but it's a 1L juice, so yeah i can't drink all that 1L! Haha.
They also serve wine or some liquors, if you want. They have a magazine on top of their wine shelf, i thought they have different mags but most of it are cookbooks.
It's a nice place with good food. I'll definitely be back here. ^__^
