Before summer officially ends, my family and I + friends went to a vacation here at Vista Capones.
I have only been to White Rock before (elementary days) and I can't remember the beach, the view and the experience anymore so I was excited to visit Zambales again.
Spent 3 days and 2 nights here and really enjoyed our stress-free and work-free vacation. At first, I thought 3 days was too long but nope, it was even bitin!! Wished we extended but work + responsibilities.
Getting here is hard. Not kind of hard. It is really hard. Rough and muddy roads. And too far. Around 1-2hrs away from Subic. But, when you see the view, it's worth it! Really worth it!
Tip: Best if you just rent a van for your group. Also, cars would probably have a hard time going here because of the lubak lubak na daan. And, use waze. Super helpful!! 🏼
The place is just small. The reception slash "souvenir" place is like a mini house. Parang tindahan. At the back is the cafeteria, where they'll be serving breakfast. Lunch and dinner is also available here. They also have a "bar" if you want to have some drinks. Then the pool, the beach and the rooms and the villas on the side.
The view from here is really beautiful. REALLY!!! The pool is big. We enjoyed swimming here while enjoying the view and sight of the beach and the sky. Some of them tried swimming in the beach but failed since the waves are really big and delikado. But this is perfect for surfing!! 🏻
We arrived Friday morning. Few hours before lunch time but still too early since our rooms are still not yet available.
Check In: 3pm
Check Out: 1pm
While waiting, we decided to stay at their "cafeteria" and asked if we can eat our baon there. They agreed and even provided us with water, plates, utensils, and even sliced the sweet mangoes we bought a long the way!!! The staffs are all really nice here! Super helpful and they are not that strict, as well. 🏼
Once our rooms were all available, they approached us and provided us with our keys. For all of us, we got 3 rooms - 2 rooms (good for 4pax) and a family villa.
The rooms good for 4 pax is located near the pool. It's like a mini house with 2 queen sized beds and a tv. Plus a veranda? Perfect for just chilling while enjoying the view of the pool and the beach. (6000/night which includes + breakfast)
The family villa is a duplex type. It's a bigger version but with 3 queen sized beds, sofa bed, tv, mini ref, and a dining area + kitchen outside (11500/night + breakfast). Best to get this if you're group is big + you get to cook here! 🏼
When it comes to resorts, Balai Isabel is usually my basis. Well, this is different.
The resort is very simple, the rooms/villas are plain, not homey and not hotel-ish type. No heater, no free toiletries, they have towels but mukhang luma and madumi. The only power outlet in our room was not working properly. Madaming insects (i.e., salagubang?, ants with wings??, etc.) since marami raw puno. These insects will be your "problem" come night time. Our 1st night was super hard because of them, magugulat ka na lang may katabi ka nang insect, or meron sa damit mo or sa buhok but on the second night, there were lesser insects or nasanay na lang kami? Haha! Tas mag bbrownout bigla. Basta, don't expect a lot from this place. Bawal maarte!!!!!
The package includes free breakfast. You get to choose from their breakfast menu: Tapsilog, Tocilog, Longsilog, Bangusilog, and Hotsilog. With free brewed coffee or orange juice. Their breakfast food are all surprisingly good. Perfectly cooked sunny side up eggs, scrambled eggs, tender beef tapa, yummy sweet tocino, and skinless longanisa! The bangus was good, as well. We also tried the cereals + banana (plain corn flakes) and pancakes + sausage which are good too! 🏼
Since we have baon and the titas went to the market to buy food, we prepared and cooked our meals in the kitchen. You can borrow from their cafeteria all the materials you'll be needing. Since they are not that strict, you can also ask for condiments!
You can also grill your food here for free. But you have to buy your own uling. Or if you're too tamad, they can grill it for you for 150/kilo. Also, if you forgot to bring water, they're selling 5 gallons for 120 pesos which is expensive.
As mentioned earlier, service is really good. They were all helpful, approachable, and not strict! 🏼
Btw, they offer island hopping for 1500php good for 4 pax.
Overall, we enjoyed our vacation here. It was relaxing and we really enjoyed the chill vibe and of course, the beautiful view. The beach is really beautiful. Imagine seeing it in the morning and in the evening. Hearing the waves and enjoying the sight of the sky!! Ahh, sunsets!!! The best!!
