DAY 3 - STOP # 1

On our last day in Tagaytay, my mom and I woke up a bit earlier so we can have our breakfast, and buy some pasalubong for our relatives and friends before we head back to Manila. A no-brainer choice would be Rowena's for their buko pies / tarts, but this time, I wanted to bring home something different.

I remember seeing my friend, I, frequently posting about Carmela's Banana Cakes whenever she gets to visit Tagaytay. When I found out that Carmela's is quite near our hotel, I told my mom I wanted to buy our pasalubongs there instead, for a change! Good thing she agreed!!! 128525

A few steps away from the shop, I was already able to smell the scent of freshly baked banana cakes! I instantly wanted to hoard all their stocks! 128513 When we got in, I was surprised to see that they actually offer more than just banana cakes. They also have banana chips (sweetened and unsweetened), dilis, lengua de gato, meringue, salted egg mushroom chips, and many many more.

Of course, I didn't want to miss out on their banana cake! Since my mom is not a fan of too much toppings, we decided to get their Plain Banana Cake (Php 170). It was soooo good! It was perfectly moist, and had huge chunks of sweet bananas all over it. I honestly wanted to eat the entire thing right away! 128513 It's also awesome that it had just the right amount of sweetness. It was perfect to me! It keeps for a couple of days when stored in the fridge, but don't wait too long before you consume it as it gets a bit tough and sticky if you store it for too long. Their banana chips taste good, too! Crisp, sweet, and addicting! 128525

When in Tagaytay, make sure to bring home some of these local goodies. Thank me later! 128521

One you shouldn't missed when visiting Tagaytay is to drop-by in Carmela's Banana Cakes in Emilio Aguinaldo Highway before heading back to Manila.

Carmela's Tagaytay sell one of the best Banana Cake in the country.

Carmela's, from what I heard, makes good Banana Bread. Tried it and yes, it was good. They have a few variants such as plain, with coffee, with cashew, and the one I tried which was with chocolate. I liked it since it was super moist, not too sweet, and most importantly, it didn't taste like medicine like other commercial banana breads. But, I think Carmela's could make them a little firmer so it's not too mushy.

During the long weekend (aug21-23), Mommy, Anthony and I went to Tagaytay to visit my lola. I was super excited since there's a long list of restaurants I want to try. But unfortunately, Mr. Heavy Rain must have seen my excitement that he made sure it will rain the entire weekend! 128546 So the entire weekend was spent inside my lola's house. 128563128528

On the bright side: More rest = Less Gastos. 128518

My mom and uncle went to the market Saturday morning to buy fruits and veggies. When they got home, they have pasalubong! Whenever we go to tagaytay, we would normally see this store with Freshly Made Banana Bread sign outside. I never really had an interest with it because my aunt makes the best banana bread and brownies in the whole wide world!!!!! 128525128076🏼 (for orders, you can message me! 1285181285219786128523 hashtag shameless plug!! 128541).

Mom bought banana bread (140) and banana chips (160). The banana bread was still warm so we ate it right away. The cake was moist but it was just okay, nothing extraordinary. Found it too sweet, as well! The chips was good, though. Thinly sliced banana that's crunchy and not too sweet! 128077🏼
