An old restaurant that hubby used to visit as a kid. So we had our family dinner there last night. I Love their SoupS! Both kids love em as well. Maybe not the sopa de ajo.. But the Fabada.. OMGee! And the Lentejas! Ooooh! Yum! The.. Paella was good too! Better than Alba's. we also got Callos, Bacalao, something omelette, and bolognese (little one's request). We didn't finish em. We were so full.. But had a little more space for dessert. We had the Canonigo (IMHO, Ilistrado's canonigo is better although Casa Armas has a nicer presentation) and flan al carmelo?! --in other words.. Leche flan! 128512And of course, I had a cup of coffee. It had a very good smell.. So hubby had a cup too! :) my son's comment: why haven't we eaten here before? "I have a new favorite resto!" Yun oh! 128539

Sunday dinner with my baby, we didn't want to wait in line for a table. We noticed that Casa Armas was empty. Made a u-turn and parked right in front of the restaurant.

It still looks and feels like the good ol' Casa Armas since high school days. You have the Spanish designs and all, even some of the leatherette seats are starting to peel off. The place smells really old 128542and not the good kinda old.

So we ordered our fave, paella negra and tried their garlic chicken. While waiting for the food I felt woozy so we had the food to-go instead.
Upon arriving home, we ate up. Even if the food is already packed up and relatively not so fresh vs if we ate at the restaurant, it still tasted good! 128539 Paella negra packed w seafood, meat, chorizo, eggs! You get what you paid for. We ordered just the half serving, and it can feed up to 4ppl! The garlic chicken was yummy too. My boyfriend especially liked the potato fries on the side. 128522

All in all, Casa Armas' food is still very impressive but they have got to renovate! 128547

Don't like the usual pizza, pasta, burger and tempura? Try spanish food this time! I suggest Paella Negra which is good for 3-4 persons.

Paella Cost: P 900+ with service charge.
Other must try: Their famous tapa
