I spent the weekend with some friends here at Casita Ysabel and it was a perfect place to get away from the busy life in the urban jungle. This place is just a few hours from Manila and is very accessible, waze-able too! The parking might be a little challenging but their staff is very accomodating to make sure you get to the right spot. We had 5 cars and each of them found their spot.
If you are looking for a beach-front, wide shoreline, this is not for you but if you don't mind watching a beautiful sunset by the cottage while have a fun time hanging out with friends then this is for you! Most of their guests are actually divers who would be out in the open sea for the day and finds this place as their resting place. Please wear slippers or aqua shoes when going into the beach bec of the coral rocks and might be difficult to walk into barefoot.
There are different air-conditioned rooms and cabanas. There is also a dipping pool if you do not prefer the salt water. You can also have massage for P900 and this can be done in your room or the cabana by the beach.
For breakfast, we had a choice between Daing na Bangus and Garlic Longanisa. There is also a brewed coffee ready at the dining area all day so you can always have your caffeine-fix! Dinner options were inihaw na liempo or chicken inasal.
It was high tide the next morning and it was perfect to enjoy swimming! There are also nearby islands where you can go to and enjoy snorkeling. You can ask the staff to book a bankero for you.
Oh, we brought our furry-friend Sammy and he was so happy to have met Mr. Chili, the resident dog there. I also noticed some guests with their furry friends too!

10 things i hate about casita ysabel:
❌The driveway inside the resort is so narrow and steep (as if it's just wide enough for a tricycle) It's only for 1 car and hardly any place to maneuver. My dad asked how cars maneuver. The staff said some cars go down backwards When we maneuvered our car, one of the tires burnt bc of the difficulty in maneuvering
❌There is no swimming pool (just a soaking pool) it looks like a jacuzzi but it's not a jacuzzi
❌ There is no beach shore. The beach is super rocky. You wouldn't want to dip bc it's both rocky & dirty
❌The bathrooms (Casita room) have no exhaust. It's difficult when you're 5 ppl sharing in 2 bathrooms.
❌ The bathroom's flush was sometimes not working. You have to fill up the tank manually. We already asked maintenance to fix but it's a recurring problem.
❌ Wifi was only the very slow tattoo. My 3G signal in my phone was less slow.
❌ Shower was not working - when you turn it on the water spills out in the cord and no water reaches the shower head
❌We asked for toilet paper and to change the towels but it never arrived. The girl said we left the resort and they don't enter the room when the guest is not in.
❌Breakfast was just omelet and fried rice. Hindi man lang tapsilog or longsilog. 🤔
❌Worst of All, it was new year's eve and when we went back to the resort around 5pm and wanted to order dinner. They said that the cook already left and they can no longer serve dinner. The nearest food place was around 30-45 min away from the resort :| They blamed us bc we left and we did not inform them in the morning that we will be having dinner there. They didn't even call us to let us know that there was a deadline and the cook will be going home. This was very odd for a resort that is operational on New year's eve. This made us cancel our last night of booking and we just drove back to manila at 6:30 pm in New Year's eve
