This was what's in the big chalkboard mural when you visit the shop. Which means ''can you bear the spicyness"?

We've always been fascinated by this small restaurant at the corner of Maginhawa, across Mini-Stop. We've heard good and not-so-good stories but I prefer hearing the good feedback about the food. 128513

One Sunday at 4pm, we decided to visit the place and queue up. The line was not long and we didn't wait that long as described by others. | Tip: if you don't like the long line, you can always go to their Pasig Branch, walang line and wala mashadong tao. 128521

I forgot what I ordered but it was really good. 1st degree burn is tolerable. One bowl is good for sharing, you can tell the servers to have it split. 128522

Curiousity and cravings are satisfied. 128077🏻

Service was pretty good at the time we visited. 128522

II need to satisfy my sudden urge to go on a foodtrip along Maginhawa Street on a Saturday night.

Searching where to eat is over when we saw the Caution Hot. It was packed when we arrived but it took only a quick 5 minute wait for a table to get vacated. Their menu is simple and straight forward. When you’re having noodles, they let you become creative and create your own noodle-dish by choosing your TOPPINGS (All-Veggie, Pork, Beef, or Seafood), then the BROTH (Szechuan, Asam Laksa, Classic), the NOODLES (Wheat or Egg Noodles), and finally the BURN, which is how hot you want your dish to be:
They had a few recommendations about which combinations to have. However, the nice lady taking our orders (points for customer service!), suggested that I have a Seafood – Szechuan – Egg Noodles combination because it’s one of the best-sellers. It costs 250 pesos. My husband tried their best seller and on the other hand I chose the beef-szechuan-egg noodles.

My noodle dish is a colorful mix of shitake mushrooms, fried egg, spring onions, garlic, and bok choy leaves. The seafood comes in the form of shrimps, thinly sliced squid, and bite-sized pieces of dory. I have to say that they have very generous servings of noodles and toppings considering the price, and one order is already good enough for sharing if you’re having other dishes with your meal. The noodles were also cooked just right for that satisfying slurp. I had 3rdDEGREE BURN as my level of hotness. Even in 3rd degree of spiciness still I can savor all the rich flavors of the ingredients.

Now a noodle-dish wouldn’t feel complete until you have dumplings on the side. We asked for an order of steamed Kuchay Pork Dumplings which tasted decent enough as a companion to our noodles. It costs 75 pesos 5 pieces. It taste good with less pork and more on the minced Chinese chives.

It was a satisfying meal! I’d recommend this noodle house to anyone who’s craving for some good noodles. Caution Hot: Spicy Noodle House is another must stop at the Teachers Village area with their very reasonable price. It was difficult to find a parking space since Maginhawa is known with many food parks and food restaurants. We just got lucky that time we had a parking but im sure you have some when you visit. 128077

I often pass by Maginhawa area and I always see a line outside Caution Hot so it got me curious, finally one time, we finally decided to try it and we’ve been here almost every week ever since (not being OA).

There’s a line almost any time of the day, whether it’s a weekday or a weekend (Please see my photo for your reference). Once you get there, ask the waitress on duty and request her to write your name in the list. Sometimes when the line is short, they don’t have a list anymore. Just the usual line. They have a few seats inside for the people waiting.

Waiting time: 15-45 mins

Tip: If you’re on your way to the place, you could call in to reserve you a table. Just make sure you’re on your way already. They don’t accommodate super early reservations (ex. You call in at 5pm for a 7pm reservation).

They serve Chinese noodles which you can customize. First, you choose your toppings: Seafood, Beef, Pork and Vegetables. Then you choose your broth for the noodles: Szechuan, Asam Laksa and Classic. After this, you choose either Wheat or Egg noodles. Last but not the least, you choose the level of heat: 1st degree, 2nd degree and 3rd degree.

Serving size: Good for 2 persons
Price per bowl: 200-220 pesos

I always order the combination: Beef-Szechuan-Egg-2nd Degree. Sometimes I order 3rd degree when I feel like eating something spicy. (Please see photo)

The noodles are great cause they don’t usually taste like your typical Chinese noodles with vetsin, their soup tastes like they’re all from the natural taste of the spices and meat used for taste.

DON’T EVER order Asam Laksa-2nd degree heat cause you’ll regret it (Not unless you’re into super spicy food, then go ahead). I regret ordering this combination cause I could barely eat it cause it was too spicy (take note: I’m used to eating super spicy food, but this was too spicy).

I also don’t recommend their Kuchay dumplings, it lacks taste and I don’t like the texture of the wrapper. Also, I think the sauce is too watery and the taste is weird as well. Probably not my cup of tea cause other customers seems to like it.

For the drinks, I love their Soya Milk. You could order 1 glass (45 pesos) or unlimited (70 pesos). If you think you won’t be drinking a lot, you could order only 1 glass since they use a fat tall glass anyway. Their Oolong milktea is good, it comes with black gulaman (75 pesos).

If you prefer drinking beer, they also have TsingTao beer and Tiger beer.

Store hours: 11am-10:30pm

IMPORTANT NOTE: They only accept dine-in customers until 10pm but they accept take-out customers until 10:30pm. For take out orders, it’s an additional 5 pesos for the microwaveable container.

***They have a restroom.
***They only accept cash.
***They serve mineral service water.

We recently had a bad experience when we had dinner last August. There was a relatively short line, we were second in line (we were two pax) and before us was a group of four people also waiting to be seated. There was an empty table for two and which was vacant for quite sometime. We asked the staff if we could already be seated given that we were only 2 pax and the group of four people wouldn't want to use the table for two. I hope that next time, the staff would be more systematic in handling this.

When we were seated, one of your crew even had the audacity to comment that there was a line. She was very rude considering that we asked them before hand if we could take the seat for two which nobody was seated. The group before us was okay about it, they also didn't have any objections when we asked but the crew made comments after we were seated. Mind you, she made the comment at the table beside us so we heard her loud and clear. We were very loyal customers (both in Maginhawa and in Kapitolyo) and it was the first time that we encountered such incident.

When our order arrived, our seafood laksa level 1 came with so much chili, it might as well be level 5. It has become so chili that it was hardly edible. Very unprofessional for the staff to retaliate by compromising the quality of the food.

Hot hot hot noodles! i like how its not a "stab in your throat" spicy, but "spicy-flavourful-complex" kinda broth. I didnt care much for my asam laksa order so i traded it with the beef broth my fiance ordered. I was a happy camper.

for a reasonable price, you get to enjoy your big bowl of noodles/ramen. you can even choose your ramen/noodles combo. i personally love the combo of seafoods+ asam laksa +wheat noodles ✔️. bf got the classic + pork + wheat, taste was ok. 🙂 pair noodles with dumplings (got the kuchay+pork 10pcs) and voila your tummy will be screaming happy. 10084

since their meal is good and place is small, you have to get in line to be served. the whole time we were there, line was never short.

there was a point they were understaff but eventually service picked up.

parking -- none

We've seen this place a dozen times whenever we visit Maginhawa Street, and a long line of customers always waiting to be seated. I became really curious and so last Friday evening i 128663 drove to QC and waited patiently 128018 for my name to be called. It didn't take long to get a table that time and a guy assisted us with our orders.

In the 1-page menu that the guy handed us, it was so hard to choose! Okay, so they have noodles, and dumplings, and refreshments; that's it.

So here's what you need to do:

1. Choose your topping
-all veggie (Php175)
What you get? Tofu and vegetarian meat strips
-pork (Php195)
It's pork asado strips 128022
-beef (Php205)
Yeah, you got it, beef slices 128046
-seafood (Php220)
I love this! It has shrimp, fish and squid 128149

2. Choose your broth
I recommend this broth, this is spicy with mushrooms, greens and fried egg 127836
-Asam Laksa
Yep, you read it right. It's a spicy fish paste broth with strips of cucumber, bits of pineapple and boiled egg
This is basically pork broth. Of course with the mushrooms, greens and fried egg

3. Choose your noodle
-wheat noodle
I recommend this if you like japanese style ramen
-egg noodle

4. Choose the burn
Read the name of this place. Caution! Hot. Lol

We ordered:
Szechuan broth, with pork toppings-wheat noodle 127836127858 and also seafood (we chose egg noodle for this one). And prefer a not so spicy noodle soup so we opted the 2nd degree Burn 128076. And don't forget to try Kuchay pork dumpling, Php60 for 5 pieces.

And they also have Tsingbao beer (Php95), Oolong milktea with grass jelly (Php75) and iced tea. :)

Chose Beef, Egg Noodle in Sze Chuan broth (1st degree burn), then ordered Kutchay Dumplings.

Broth was excellent and beef was tender, the wrapper/ filling ratio of the kutchay dumplings was on point and it goes well with the black vinegar.

Only complain I had was we waited for 45 minutes just to be seated.

This was our fourth stop for the Maginhawa foodtrip my friends and I had in September. Noodle house! I haven't been to many noodle houses, so this one quite excited me.

The ambiance looked authentic Chinese, which I loved a lot, and it happened to be perfect for the weather because it was raining heavily when we went. Talk about being at the right place at the right time. The space, however, was quite small for a bestseller noodle joint. Good we didnt have to fall in line that day.

We didn't have enough time as I had to catch a flight, so we skipped the DIY style. But I suggest you try customizing your noodles, pick your broth, and everything. That is, if you're familiar of what the items are. Otherwise, settle for the hot combinations as we did.

We had a big bowl of Beef-Szechuan-Egg Noodles (P185), 1st degree burn; and another bowl of Seafood-Asam Laksa-Wheat Noodles (P205), 2nd degree burn. That was good for four because the serving size was really big (for us). Yeah, tasted good. Just the right taste of everything. And it was deliciously HOT!

And then we had some pork dumplings (5 pcs, P110), which I didn't fall in love with because of the vinegar. Didn't quite match the taste.. Perhaps some saltier dip would complement?

OVERALL, I would recommend Caution Hot. There are many combinations you can play with, all perfect for the cold and rainy days.

After a few attempts of eating here finally its happening!

Luckily they have this wednesday special, the hot and sour soup which happened to be a warning-too-spicy broth and so i chose it along with all-veggie, wheat noodles, and an ultimate level of spiciness while le boyfie ordered their szechuan broth with beef, egg noodles and just their 3rd level of spiciness, upon ordering mine, for the nth time i got underestimated with that "sure ka ma'am?!" Question/warning haha well as i usually answer them, yes! with confidence haha, and just to have some slight humor i tried to asked the server "sure ka spicy?' Hahaha

Anyway, after a few sips and munch on the noodles i can say that it was spicy! Haha made me all teary as if i was crying, i'm not the type of person who sweats alot while eating spicy food, my eyes does all the sweating 128514 and everytime inreach that point where i get all teary as if i'm crying that's when i consider it spicy, and despite the intense burning sensation the broth was still rich in flavor that the spice doesn't overpower the flavor, that sour broth full of veggies, mushroom, and strips of tasty ham, really enjoyed it and the serving was huge! I got so full and became all groggy after eating haha talk about #buhaybaboy moment

When i come back, i'll dare my friends to beat my spice tolerance 128069🌶

Excited to make this review! Who in the world won't want Huge Ramen Bowls.128525128525128525 still can't get enough of it. Surprisingly i finish the whole bowl because it is really good, awesome goodness i can't even explain it in words. Haha! Compared to other ramen restos around the metro they offer really good amount of serving with an affordable prize. Imagine you can have a bowl of ramen with less than 200 pesos. We ordered 2 Beef Szechuan with egg noodles - 1st degree burn, 1 pork asado Szechuan with egg noodles - 2nd degree burn and 1 pork asado Szechuan with wheat noodles - ultimate burn. You can actually guess what's the ultimate burn in the photo. Ok clue (bloody broth)128569 i prefer the first degree burn because i don't think i can handle the ultimate burn so i settle on the safe side. Ahah! We also ordered pork dumplings and the one with vegetables. The staff was very accommodating even though she's alone. She's doing her job really well. The place itself is quite small with 6 tables. Before you can get in you have to sit and wait outside because there is plenty of people also waiting inside. That's how this resto is making a hit! Another hole in the wall. A great find in Maginhawa. And we will definitely come back. 1108811088110881108811088
