Traversing Lumiang cave to Sumaguing cave is the most worth it activity you can do in Sagada. It is nowhere near easy but very doable even to the most unfit person. What you need to conquer is fear. Fear of small spaces, fear of darkness and fear of the unknown. It is fear that will make you think of backing out when the guide say "Paglabas sa butas, punta at kapit agad sa kanan. Wag sa kaliwa. Bangin. Malalim. " But don't let your fear take over. Instead listen and trust them, they've been in and out of this place many times. They know what theyre talking about. And maybe pray?!
I lost count on the number of descents and ascents. You will climb and rappel. Crawl and scoot. You will walk in maybe knee high coooold water that will make your feet numb. You will be told to grip your guide's shoulder or step on his knees to help you pull yourself up. As Nike said, Just do it.
Before you know it you will be at the mouth of Sumaguing cave and out in the sunlight. Catching your breath, you will look back and say kaya ko pala! Woohoo! .
I will definitely do it again 🏼🏼.
