My family toured around Bukidnon for a day and drove back to CDO for another exhilarating adventure.

After the 2-hour drive from Dahilayan, we went straight to the hotel to lay our restless feet. There are a lot of accommodation options within the city. We decided to stay at Pearlmont Inn. It is located across Limketkai Mall right in the middle of the city's business district. The hotel is designed with traditional Filipino elements. Interiors is accentuated with a great mix of ancestral decorative pieces and modern architectural details. We reserved a deluxe room that is considerably affordable at P1700 per night inclusive of access to the roofdeck swimming pool and breakfast for two. We skipped the morning meal at the hotel since we are conveniently fetched by Kagay tours at exactly 6:00am.

We booked Kagay for the river rafting experience. The 14-rapid experience priced at Php1000 per head covers the transportation, guide, and safety gear.

It took us about an hour to reach the starting point in Cagayan River. Everyone gathered upon arriving at the site for the safety briefing led by the reliable guides. We are oriented with important reminders on navigating the raft and the appropriate way of wearing of the gear.

I secured all of my valuables in a waterproof belt bag and double-covered the gadgets in a tight ziploc. Adding up to the tension is the fear of drowning my camera. The thrill of the rushing waters is felt from the very beginning.

Excitement is intensified one rapid at a time. Every steep slope is an unforgettable experience for I get to share it with my adrenaline-packed Mom. The rain poured out and she still paddled through the current. In any form of adventure, age does not matter. We ended the 3-hour rafting wanting more.

Kagay also arranges tour packages inclusive of Dahilayan Zipline Tour. It is normally a one day tour from 6:00am to 6:00pm with first stop at Dahilayan. For whiter water rafting, there are two sessions available: a morning schedule with call time at 7:30am and another one at 12:00nn. The pick-up point can be either at the hotel or Kagay Office situated in the city. Digital copy of the photos taken by Kagay's team can be a acquired for Php500 per CD.

Planning to tag along my adventure-seeking friends in my next visit and Seda Hotel, CDO is on my list. 127754

What does one do in Cagayan de Oro when looking for some excitement and a good time? Go river rafting, of course! I’m no expert on extreme sports but I have always been dying to try out a few so this was the perfect chance to do so. Though several friends (including my wife) took a bit of convincing. “It’s 100% safe.” I told them with a devilish grin on my face.

So off I went and made all the arrangements with the rafting company (Great White Rafting). From their website, there are several packages available – Basic course (for newbies) which is 1200 PHP per person, Advanced course (for those looking for more thrills) at 1800 PHP per person, and other packages which include rafting + zipline at Dahilayan Nature Park or rafting packages with meals included. Their website has the complete info if you’re interested.

We wanted to minimize our expenses so we went with the Basic course. I just called their number and let them know how many people we had in our group, what package we wanted, and then they let me choose between a morning (7:30 AM) or afternoon trip at 12:00 PM. We didn’t want to be baked by the sun so we chose the morning trip.

The following day, they picked us up from the hotel we were staying at. After about an hour’s drive, we stopped by their office to gear up. Our group was provided one raft which was big enough to fit 8-9 people. We were also provided helmets and life jackets.

Our last stop was the great Cagayan de Oro river, where the actual rafting took place. Before we jumped in the water, our guides gave a short safety lecture on how not to die while rafting – it’s basically just to obey instructions at all times or else.

After that, we were all set to go! The river actually looked a bit calmer than I was expecting but when we got in the raft and started paddling, things got way more intense. I have to say, this was by far the most exhilarating experience I’ve ever had since riding a roller coaster. You are at the mercy of Mother Nature as the rapids pushes the raft violently down river. Everyone was screaming either in fear or excitement every time we approached a rapid. Despite some heart-pounding moments, I felt confident because our guides really knew the river by heart and all the tricks to have a safe journey.

I have to mention, the guides aren’t just there to help you survive but also to entertain. There are some moments where you can relax and admire the scenery during the trip so it’s not a rough ride all the way. It was during these quiet moments when our guides would make the silliest jokes or tell a story about the province. That’s going the extra mile!

Sadly, all good things must come to an end. After about 2 hours, we were done and everyone was dripping wet, with smiles on our faces. We couldn’t help but want more. In Tagalog, “bitin!”

So if you ever have vacation plans in CDO, be sure to book a rafting tour. It’s the best.

From Manila we went to Cagayan de Oro via Cebu Pacific Air for 1.5 hours and we landed at Laguindingan International Airport. After we landed, we travel for around 1 hour via airport taxi to our hotel. We stayed at Limketkai Luxe Hotel in Cagayan de Oro City.

After 2 hours of rest we need to be ready for our meeting at Kagay-anon Restaurant, famous restaurant in Cagayan de Oro City, it is just near to our hotel where we stay.

After the meeting we stroll around the mall of Limketkai and had a coffee at Missy Bonbon, famous cafe in Cagayan de Oro City.

When we're back at Luxe Hotel. I check what can we do tomorrow, our flight going back to Manila was scheduled late afternoon. So I google search to what to do in Cagayan de Oro and saw the White Water Rafting. Then I called the travels and tours to booked us for tomorrow's White Water Rafting Adventure.

The travels and tours fetch us in our hotel around 5AM in the morning, we're just an add on to the bigger group to complete the maximum capacity. We travel to Cagayan-Bukidnon River for about 1 hour from our hotel. 128676

When we reached our destination, there's a small briefing, orientation and training before the rafting adventure. Our tourist guide/ trainor handed us the paddle to teach us how we will do it when we're crossing or experiencing the rapids. He said just to follow my instructions when to paddle. After the brief training, we start our rafting adventure. Of course we were at Level 1. I handed my underwater cam to one of the tourist guide to take us pictures in the actual rafting. By the way, he also sells underwater disposable cam. 128540

For 2 long hours we have the most adrenaline adventure of our lifetime. I don't know what happiness these rafting brought to us, but it is one of the best experience so far. We swam, paddle, dive, hanged and bounced. We also tried drinking mineral water from the rainforest of Cagayan de Oro. Happiness indeed, I will going back to this place for Level 2... 3... and more. 128514128514128514

Guys, you should try Cagayan de Oro's White Water Rafting. It's the best!!! 128515

You will have the guts to use #FriendshipGoals after you and your friends survive this activity. If you're a firstimer like me, you'll be thinking twice. But if you're barkada worked together, your boat ride will be smooth and safe. I enjoyed going down the boat and just go with the calm current part of the river. I'll be back for more difficult level.128076🏼

Super worthy experience. Advanced rapid course costs P1000/head for around 4hours in the river by Kagay rafting. The activity was super fun ( and tiring) and the rafting guides were very entertaining. They also take photos during the rafting, which you can get at their office after, for P500, copied in a CD.

Cagayan de Oro's signature adventure is their white river rafting in Cagayan River! I didn't miss this for myself and after exploring Iligan for a day, this was my 2nd stop. There are many white water river rafting companies in Cagayan de Oro and among those companies, I chose Kagay.

Their webpage says you need to be in a group of 6 in order to avail their rafting promos, and since I was just a solo traveler, I tried calling them and asked the staff if I can join a group and good thing I was able to join!

They will pick you up 7:30 in the morning in your hotel and upon arriving at the rafting station, there will be a little orientation regarding the positions, commands and must do's and don't's and then the greatest part is here!

We finished the rafting session for three and a half hours and we chased 14 really crazy rapids! Be careful you might fall if you're gonna try it and always listen to the guide. This was my first time rafting and it's really a great start! I can't wait to try many more!!! Trust me, you should try this!

This experience is definitely one of the best summer activities that you can enjoy with your family/friends/workmates, etc.

For 1300+++php, enjoy a 4 hour rafting, within wild rapids, calm ones as you experience the beauty that lies within the Cagayan River. Raft along mini forests and discover animals and insects from Mindanao.

One of the most adrenaline-filled experience ever, at the end of it all, a sumptuous meal awaits you at the end point.

This is best shared with your persons who won't say no to ride the tough waters with you!

Never leave CDO without experiencing their white water rafting!

We chose Bugsay to fix our white water rafting adventure. We were a group of 10. It was the best activity to cap off the week long work we did there.

It was well coordinated. We were picked up in the center and were transported on a jeep. We dropped by their office first to pay and sign waivers. Do avail of the pic and video package. Super worth it. Price per head is 700.

Trip to the jump off point was maybe 30 mins to 1 hour. We were too busy to notice. Don't forget to wear long sleeved rash guards or any shirt. If you forget, they sell sleeves there. Hahaha. I forgot what they're actually called.
Do bring food too. The trip is long and there is a break in the middle so you can eat.

I super enjoyed conquering the rapids. The guides also have their gimiks wherein they ask you to stand etc. I'll leave the others to surprise you. Definitely a must try! :)

This is one of the highlights of our trip, white water rafting! We joined the bugsay team for a beginner's course along the Cagayan de Oro river.
They picked us up at 8AM from the hotel, proceeded to their office to sign the waiver and off we went. It was a short trip, around 40mins from the city.
When we got to the valley (where we will start our trip), we were advised to leave all our belongings and we started suiting up for the trip. The vests were a bit different from normal life vests, sturdier I guess. However they only had one size for the helmets. There was a quick orientation on how to row, what to do if you fall (which I did!) and other situations.
It was so much fun! Even if it was just the beginner course, there were still a lot of fun and exciting parts.
Some tips:
- wear a rashguard or something similar, you'll be under the sun for an hour or so you'll definitely be burned
- wear proper attire; no jeans, jean shorts etc as these will weigh you down
- bring a change of clothes. That's if you don't want to ride the jeep going back soaking wet
- wear sports specific sunglasses as these will get wet too
Loved this part of our trip and will try the advanced course next time!

This is very safe! In the 10years we have been doing this, we have only had 5 minor accidents so far...-- Boy, white water rafting guide

Then came April... The from duty bangag, then intern... I just came from duty before my parents picked me up and our family headed for the airport... It was my OB rotation, so understandably BANGAG!!! We had a couple of days off due to the Holy Week, so I grabbed the chance to go with my family to CDO...

I was sleepy but excited! Boarded the plane and flew to CDO... I then asked--kailan ang white water rafting? Ang sagot sakin-- ngayon na, pag baba... Huwat! Huwaw! 128561 walang patawad man! Yan ang problems pag di mga doctor ang kasama mo...

So, sa airport pa ko nagbihis, then game on ang peg!

Sakay kami ng jeep to bring us to the rapids... My mom sat it out... We were given safety instructions and lots of reassurance!128077 then off we went...

It started great! Thrilling! Adrenaline rush! Yung mga guide namin, panay flip samin... Okay naman, it was fun... Then we came to a part where they had difficulty flipping the raft... Pinilit pa din! So...... KABOOM!!!128163128163128163 Hulog kaming lahat sa tubig... 127946

Maybe it was my sleep deprived, tired self, with very slow reflexes... I hit face first on the rocky river bottom... Good thing I'm a pretty good swimmer and the adrenaline started pumping... I was disoriented but swam to the light... NO, I did not enter the light... I swam to the light... As in the surface... The people gasped as I surfaced because blood was dripping down the side of my face...

Needless to say, the other groups no longer wanted to be flipped and it was the end of my white-water rafting experience... Medyo mahaba pa yung story after, but the moral of the story is this: DO NOT GO WHITE WATER RAFTING WHEN SLEEP DEPRIVED... Simple fact that will help you avoid a CT scan...128540

110881108811088️ because it was fun up to that point, but I think that my rafting days are over!128513
