After our meeting in Rockwell. My friend and I decided to have a lite snack in one of the restaurant in Power Plant Mall.

THE PLACE

Chef Du Partie (CDP) A Global Table is restaurant located beside Mamou. They served International cuisine inspired in Paris, New York and Manila.

THE FOOD

128055Sisig Pate for Php195.00 - 11088110881108811088️ 4/5
"I like the flavor of the sisig on top of the bread. It is appetizing... after one bite you will asked for more of it."

127865Passionberry Iced Tea for Php80.00 - 11088110881108811088️ 4/5
127865Lemongrass Iced Tea for Php80.00 - 11088110881108811088️ 4/5

"Both Iced Tea taste good. But if I will choose between the two, I will choose the Lemongrass Iced Tea because I like the refreshing flavor and the after taste of the lemongrass."

THE SERVICE

I like the gesture of the owner helping his staff to provide an excellent one.

I've been seeing a lot of food pics lately on instagram regarding this restaurant. So might as well try this place out, since i was just in the area for our Father's Day dinner. I actually went to rockwell to buy some black wagyu cubes, because i just really love those and i'm pretty sure most people do. haha. But why not try something new too right?!

I actually called an hour before for a reservation. Luckily there was a table still available for me and my parents.

My mom is a vegetarian by the way, so this was one of the restaurants i could think of that she could enjoy. Dad and i aren't vegetarians so it was pretty easy to bring us to different restos unlike my mom. haha

Anyway, things were going smoothly at the start. I ordered the Maine Lobster Vongole and a Truffle Maccheroni for my mom. Dad's order was pretty simple, he just wanted his porkchop.

Unfortunately, we were disappointed a few minutes after when the food mom and i ordered weren't available due to some lacking ingredients. Mom's order run out of mushrooms, and i forgot what run out on my order. But these were the 2 dishes we came for and these were the ones we didn't get to eat. Hopefully knowing that these are their best selling dishes. They should have more stocks of these ingredients for those dishes. Especially on a special occasion such as Father's Day.

Disappointed. I changed my order to my 2nd choice which was the SCALLOPS AND PRAWNS CURRY RISOTTO (Php 595). This dish was actually good. It wasn't spicy, had just the right amount of curry for a risotto dish. My risotto was a bit overcooked though, but still good to eat. Scallops and Prawns were cooked perfectly. Overall. i'd definitely order this dish again someday soon. Dish was seasoned just right also.

As for my mom, I ordered her a GRILLED VEGETABLE WRAP (Php 195) and SPINACH MUSHROOM EMPANADITAS (Php 395). I didn't get to taste the vegetable wrap, but my mom enjoyed her dish. I got to try the spinach mushroom empanaditas though. It was good but it tasted a little bland. Good but needed a little bit more seasoning. I liked that it had that truffle taste though. I mean who doesn't like truffle right?! haha.

Overall, restaurant food was just okay. Hopefully my rating would go higher on my next visit. I'm planning to go back for the 2 dishes that wasn't available that day.

Had dinner with the girlfriends there last Saturday. Place was packed, as expected.

On to the food: we had the Sisig Pate' which was quite spicy and flavorful. The other appetizer was the Baked Oysters which was just lovely. It kinda reminded me of the Via Mare oysters.

For the main course, we ordered Mamou steak which was (and always is) divine. Our carbs consisted of the Chorizo pasta, which in my humble opinion, reminded me of palabok. Then again, it could just be my plebeian palate 128540 We also had the Lobster Vongole which was delicious.

Servings are quite small, if you ask me. Then again, it's probably marketed as a date place so if you like bigger servings (and are PG) like me, head to Mamou instead.

Will I give it another try? I guess.

first time to try this place and I say I'm impressed with their food selection... my family loved the baked oysters ( unfortunately I can't enjoy them as I am allergic) corned pork chop was yummy.. the lamb kebab was really good too.. we had cheesecake for dessert I find it a bit sweet but has this velvety feel to the pallet.
staffs are attentive, 4.5 stars for that.. value for money I'll give it 4.5 stars 10024 place is cozy.. overall experience is very good!

This is fusion cooking at its best. This is a perfectly creamy risotto. The arborio "spreads" perfectly and not mushy at all. But this is not just any risotto, this is a curry risotto and the kind of curry they used made this "marriage" a match made in culinary heaven. I am overusing the word perfect but that is how I can describe how the scallops were cooked, succulent, cooked through, and with a little sear. CDP is on the hogher end price-wise for the hoi pollois like me but we need to indulge once in a while and if budget permits, CDP is worth it. We also loved the other dishes we ordered: fritto misto, short ribs poutine, and Nicoise cups.

This place made by powerhouse restauranteurs Malou Fores (Mamou), Katrina Alcantara (Mesclun/Chuck’s Deli) and Kristine Locsin (Lu) is a bit under the radar for Powerplant visitors as it is located outside of the mall by Lopez Drive. They describe themselves as global cuisine, hence Global Table where they offer food from around the world and create food influenced by different cultures. A mix of Manila-French-New York. Concrete walls envelope the space and I've noticed they draw on the walls every so often. There is a gigantic dripping wax candle in the front too.

This is what we ordered:

Fritto Misto - tawilis, squid, shrimps
Pigs Ears Fries
Almejas Con Fabes
Mushroom Spinach Empanaditas
Fish Tacos
Steak Frites
Duck Confit
Short Rib Poutine127775127775127775127775127775
Scallops and Prawn Curry Risotto127775127775127775127775127775
Triade of saffron panna cotta, red wine chocolate pudding, salted caramel pot de creme
Gelati, churros

I loved that crispy tawilis is available here. No need to go to Tagaytay to try this, which I had a serious craving for years back. Pigs Ears Fries I guess would be just like eating sisig, which is an ingredient of that. It just felt weird to eat it so I passed. Tacos can rival that of El Chupacabra. Steak Frites was cooked just the way we liked it.

The Short Ribs was a colossally rich dish! My, oh my. Poutine was amazing with the kesong puti and bleu cheese sauce. Super soft meat and savory sauce. Reminded me of a similar dish from Fez which we always ordered when it was still open.

The Scallops and Prawn Curry Risotto was incredible! This classic Italian dish was transformed with a distinct Asian flavor that was surprisingly delicious. Creamy rice, succulent scallops and prawns, and red curry. This is what I’ll be back for.

Food is really rich. I mean heart attack levels rich. Seriously. So choose your orders carefully.

This is a casual restaurant. But since it’s in the Rockwell area, it doesn’t hurt to dress up a little. Not ball gown levels naman, but nice enough to wear something nice and order a nice bottle of wine with your food. Did I just say nice thrice?

Servings are really good for one, if sharing maybe 2-3. Prices are a bit high so if you are a bit on a budget, reserve this for a special occasion because it is definitely worth a visit.

On the wall it says - “It’s time to drink an Esmeralda & dance on the tables.” I agree.

Talk about biting the bullet. This dish is not wallet friendly. But I went ahead and ordered their Maine lobster vongole pasta. Al dente just how I like it. Taste was decent. Lobster great! Fresh Clams just as equal. Serving size too small for the price though. I could see why people may think they are not getting their moneys worth. But I guess its ok to splurge once in awhile. Especially for lobster! 128516

Nice French brunch place with al fresco dining in Rockwell! You'll know you're in for an authentic treat the moment you get greeted by their French manager and when you see their menu that look like your lola's prayer book. Quaint ambiance! Ideal for ladies who brunch9786️. Tried their prawn and scallop curry risotto, mushroom empanadita, french onion soup, and seafood french fries. All ok!128076 will definitely come back to try their salads and their other dishes. Casual french restaurants like these are hard to find128522

Cdp is quite a lovely place with its chic interiors and gracious waiters. It has good dishes like their nicoise salad, clam chowder. The steak at Mamou is better than cdp though. But most special I think is their bread basket and my gosh their gelati. Recommend you all give this a try.

CDP is a new restaurant by Margarita Fores of Mamou fame. It serves international cuisine, and the dining place is designed like a European brasserie, relax, casual. What will catch your attention once you go in will be the ornate brass ceilings, and big jars of alcohol infusions (with lychee, oranges) on the bar counter, which also doubles as a wine bar.

I wanted to order the Maine Lobster seafood vongole, because I heard good reviews about it, but the price was crazy at around P950. Not sure I will pay that much for a plate of pasta even if it had a piece of lobster on top. So I ended ordering Sancocho, which is apparently a Dominican Republic dish of pork, chicken and beef stew with light avocado salsa on top. It was good, light, simply flavored, but it was so close to nilaga that I felt it was 'pinasosysal na nilaga' at a hefty price of around P550!

CDP, therefore, serves good food, but the price is a bit steep. I suggest you go for the duck confit or truffle macherroni, which I tasted were also good, but, at least, doesn't remind you of something cheaper.

Ordered the recommended Lobster Vongole and the Japanese Mackerel. At best, taste of both were OK - but when you consider the price of the Vongole at P1k++ - it was definitely not worth it. For a small pasta dish at that price I would have expected it to either 1) blow my taste buds away or 2) get too stuffed from it. Which didn't happen. The mackerel came with a Mediterranean rice which I'm not exactly a big fan of personally so I won't talk about that but the fish needed a bit more of that salty sea taste.

I also had the Trio dessert which is composed of various flans which to me was a nice concept of getting to taste different flavors - salted caramel, orange and choco - my prob with it was there was no varying texture. I would've wanted a break in the monotony and was hoping for a crunch.

Oh I also had fried tawilis which was just plain forgetful. Although the complimentary breads were good hehe

The menu here is a little underwhelming. We ordered the truffle pasta with prosciutto and it was okay, nothing spectacular--still would have enjoyed Mamou's better. We also ordered the mackarel, but again, it was nothing special.

Upon the suggestion of a HS friend, we had dinner at CDP last Saturday. They were still on soft opening as the proprietress explained that they were just on their 7th day. Explains why I hadn't heard of this place before.

Came across Candid Cuisine C's review which recommended the lobster vongole. I must agree that it was delicious! The lobster and clams were perfectly cooked.

But as they were still on soft opening, there was a lot of room for improvement. I will not go into the details as the servers were profusely apologetic for the lapses and the proprietress gave us a free dessert. I will come back though maybe after a month when they've finally settled down. I'm a big fan of Mamou (I think they're owned by the same family) so I have high hopes for CDP.
