Maybe we ordered the wrong thing in the menu because the Beef Salpicao was quite tough. Gosh, my jaw still hurts from all that chewing.

As I understand, Cecil belongs to the family who used to own Green Patio in Greenhills way back when... And, that is why, their Amoy Lumpia is just as good as it can get. I get this for potluck, for gifts, for our own parties, for when I'm just craving for it. They also serve Cua Pao here but I'm an Amoy Lumpia loyalist.

Chances are, you'll see Cecil around when you do visit. It's that charming and homey friendly neighborhood place you wouldn't expect past the hustle and bustle of Nuvali and Solenad, past the corn vendors of Sto Domingo, and a little before AUP.

Had late lunch here last thursday with the family. I super love their interior design. So homey and pleasing to the eyes. I like their salpicao, lumpia and beef tapa and for dessert, their sansrival. 128077128513128522

We went to Sta. Rosa to meet Ellen A, kids bonding and buy some stuffs from Balibago (?).

We had lunch here first, as suggested by Ellen. When she first told me about this, I said I didn't know it. But when I saw the counter, I remembered Jairus d photo about this place.

I had the truffle pasta and lumpia. The pasta was huge! It is good for two. Taste was rich and very filling. It was delicious but not the type that you want some more.

The lumpia was the best I had. We ordered another one for take out.

We also shared the brazo for dessert. It was good as well, it was not so sweet and the custard was creamy. I enjoyed it even though I am not a brazo fan.

I liked the homey vibe of the place. Best spending a Sunday lunch with family and friends.

A quaint and cozy restaurant that serves good and affordable gourmet home-cooked meals and the famous Green Patio fresh Amoy lumpia.

I fancy this place because apart from it's cute country-style interiors and yummy savory dishes, it's a good half-way resto if you're too hungry to wait to get to Tagaytay.

If you plan to visit Cecil's, make sure to order the vegetable lumpia (better than DEC or Little Store for me), the iced tea, Caesar's Salad, Vegetable Lasagna and Salpicao.:)

Cecil's Cafe has the most delicious fresh lumpia ever! Also tried the Seafood in Red Sauce Pasta. Super yummy and the serving is generous! I love how it's not sweet and has a bit of a kick. Will definitely be back to try the other dishes! 128077

The fresh amoy lumpia is good. Nice place, quaint and homey. If you're going to Tagaytay and need to snack, would recommend this place.

If you love mushrooms, then you'll love the vegetable lasagna!

If you're on your way to Tagaytay then you should take the time to dine at Cecil's Cafe.

This quaint cafe might be hard to find and often missed by travelers because it is placed on a conspicuous location. (It's right beside a Korean restaurant and it's located way past Nuvali Sta. Rosa)

The exterior exudes a homey and comfy vibe with plants and flowers adorning the front.

The interior is quaint with picture frames and knick knacks framed at the wall.

The servers are very nice and accommodating. Whenever I dined here, I would always think of comfort food since they have a variety of dishes served that will surely satisfy your tummy.

As for the food, you should start with their Potato Chips and Dill Dip (P50). A little bit oily but appetizing to the palate. Next up would be their own version of Lumpiang Sariwa called the Amoy Lumpia. It's a refreshing take on lumpia and it's full of organic greens and veggies. Definitely sulit, you get a big chunk of fresh lumpia for only P65.

For the main course, I recommend the Vegetable Lasagna (P165). Be wary though, this dish gets sold out pretty fast.

For dessert, try their Moist Chocolate Cake or Brazo de Mercedes.

If you're hesitant on what to order, stick on their best sellers.

I hate to oversell this place but it's best to experience this yourself 9786

I'm a sucker for places that serve awesome desserts, same reason that opted me to try Cecil's Cafe. Little I know I'm gonna be dissatisfied:

127969THE PLACE
Cecil's cafe is situated along Santa Rosa-Tagaytay road after you pass Nuvali & right before the Adventist church. The name was derived from the owner's name. I saw an online article about her Green Patio lineage which is a famous chinese resaurant in Greenhills from way back. The place looks homey from inside-out.

128129THE STAFF
I was greeted right away & the service was fast. So kudos to that128077

127860THE CHOW-DOWN
Note: All the food that I tried are bestsellers:

128517Beef Salpicao - The beef is tender and it was cooked okay, which also connotes to ordinary. No "Omf" or "oh my Gosh" moment for me.

128517Fresh Amoy Lumpia - also known as chinese lumpia. Packed with peanuts! Although, the sauce is too sweet and it has cilantro leaves that I really hate.

128565Moist chocolate cake - This is suppose to turn out fine but it's soggy. It seems that the cake was left out on the table after being chilled. Literal na "napabayaan sa kusina"

Yup, the food needs improvement.128556
