Tastes like j.co but more expensive. 1 dozen is 450 pesos.

One of our favorite donut shops. 128522

45pesos for each donut. We got:
S'mores
Cheese
Crème brûlée

Request to warm all of the donuts, for me it tastes better.

Parking can be limited.

This is the place where you can ravage some donuts and be a "tita"at the same time. The ambience is as gorgeous as the food. If you are looking for a donut and Oreo's lovechild, you are definitely at the right place.

Ever the classic donut place in Katipunan, Cello's was our stop #7 of our Maginhawa food crawl (technically not part of Maginhawa, but it's on the way back to BGC). Last team standing with Jairus d and Mary Love S.

I've always loved their cheese donut ever since my friend introduced me to it in the late 2000's. They were still in their location beside a bank, so this is two transfers after already. My bad, Cello's, I guess I never rated you on | yet.

I've taken their miniatures and full sized cheese donuts to my previous two companies and they never disappoint. Generous heaps of cheese atop a nice honey dipped donut. Just right balance of salty sweet. Only drawback is that if you don't eat it in a day or two, it'll get hard real quick. So it's not made of the same stuff as KK which is still okay in two or even three days.

This latest location of this branch is between TOSH (Old Spaghetti House) and MSA, and beneath the Katipunan branch of Breakout (which also shares the same owner). It's nicer, well lit, and easier to access than their last branch (where sister resto Gino's is still located, hidden and atop Mercury Drug). Sadly, as much as I love their donuts, I haven't gotten to a point that I get amazed by their interiors, especially the counter. Don't get me wrong, it's better looking from the outside than their previous two locations but it's not impressive. Or their staff being super top notch. So I'll give them a 4/5 still, but not perfect. Just for their awesome cheese donut. Though P45 per piece is a bit steep.

I did like their Boston Creme. Liked that they heated it for me, too.

PS the cheese donut is for the wifey as pasalubong

As Katipunan is kinda far from me, whenever I have a chance and I'm in the vicinity, I usually pass by Cello's and buy donuts! I can't even recall when was the last time I ate Cello's donuts!

So last Sunday, we were at the vicinity and my brother decided to buy while waiting for me and my mom! As he loves 127851, he purchased all chocolate flavors! 128528

Looks, yummy, but I'm not so sure if the taste had changed over time. But upon taking my first bite, it felt different. It doesn't feel right and I can't seem to recall the familiar Cello's donut I used to 128156.

Overall, I can only rate the food and its just a 1108811088️ for me. 128529

Backlog. 128529 (This was Feb 13, 2016 btw) 128514

So I was craving for sweets that day especially the liempo that my family ate for lunch was "nakakaumay". 128557128584 I contacted my friend to go out with me for some donuts and she said yes!

The first that got into our minds is Cello's new branch. The place looked so chill. 978610024 I wanted to order two donuts at first but my friend suggested to try the dozen of mini donuts of different flavors. Well, okay. 128523

The capuccino is good-- thick, bitter, and not watered down. 9786128077🏼 The dozen of mini donuts (they don't seem so "mini" 128123) contains the ff flavors: cinnamon, sugar glazed, chocolate, cheese, Oreo, peanut butter, strawberry++! 127849127849127849127849127849127849 My focus was to pick all the peanut butter donuts before my friend picks them. 128123128514128584128539

So, each of us finished 6 donuts. HAHAHAHA I regret it after an hour because while we were still walking along Katipunan, my tummy went aching.

I will be back, for sure. I wanna try their bigger donuts. 128527 Especially the s'mores donut. 9786

This doughnut gem hails from Quezon City.  I've been eyeing on Cello's  everytime we pass by Katips and after i read a couple of reviews (cc: Ruth D )

After buying artsy stuff at Common Room,  i decided to swing by Cello's to get some doughnuts for takeaway.  Box of six please 128522.   As for the flavors,  pastillas,  dirty chocolate,  cheese,  strawberry,  creme brulee,  white chocolate.  I coughed around php 240.

Aesthetics wise,  Cello's offers straightforward doughnuts with simple flavors,  no fancy complicated icing design thingys (except for the smores variant -  it's too pretty).  No wordplay used in the doughnut names.  The aforementioned points adds charm and character to their product.  Simple isn't always synonymous to bland.  Cello's is the exception,  their doughnuts are nothing but  awesome!  Light,  fluffy and not too sweet.

Sidenote:

I also ordered Americano and Mango Yakult to go.  While they are preparing the coffee,  one doughnut flavor caught my eye -  Coconut!  For some weird reason,  Smokey Mountain's Da Coconut Nut started playing in my head.  I gave in,  bought one and i sank my teeth on this coconut flavored treat.  It's similar to the song,  catchy,  upbeat and makes you wanna dance.  I shall call it the happy doughnut from this day forward.

Creme Brulee doughnut. Again. 128516

I also got to try Dirty Chocolate. It was good too.

I think it's a perfect idea that Cello's is right there below Breakout PH. Grab a doughnut before playing for energy. Grab another when you're so depressed and frustrated that you weren't able to escape. 128517

P.S. It's now even easier to write reviews. I'm doing this right on looloo.com using Google Chrome for desktop. The emojis, I take from getemoji.com or emojipedia.org.

Oh, i missed Cello's doughnuts! T'was a tambay place back in college. But am referring to their other branch, on the green side. 128521 It has long been closed, i think.

Anyway, I had Dirty Chocolate! Extra sweet though, so when I tried the Creme Brulee, oh em gee. Ang sarap. Perfect. It was Ruth D's order actually. She offered me to taste it, then poof. I think I ate almost half. 128514 Told her to taste mine too! Para quits! 128514 Creme Brulee! Creme Brulee!

Nice strategy prior BreakoutPH! Energy booster! 128514

Creme Brulee doughnut. Whuuuut? After a heartbreaking 2nd attempt at a BreakoutPH room, we had some doughnuts. Breakout and Cello's are actually in the same building. Cello's occupies the ground floor, Breakout occupies the 2nd and 3rd floors.

Back to the doughnut. It was good. The doughnut had a light filling that wasn't sweet. Which was great because it was complemented perfectly by the caramelized sugar on top that had a perfect glassy, crispy texture.

I ordered 3 doughnuts to go and what I didn't like was that they just put all 3 together in one thin paper bag. On top of each other. So it's a hassle to take them out once you get home or if you want to have the doughnuts while in transit.

P.S. Thanks for adding the new branch, Gwen I 128522
