Nestled not too far from BGC, along Bayani Road (Philippine Army Gym on the one end by Lawton, and Heritage at the C5 end, with PSID/Phil School of Interior Design in between) lies a converted home. It's a popular Inuman place for PSID students kicking back, families getting their inihaw Pinoy faves, and where my wife and I get our new hidden gem of a (pork) Barbecue... @Cendong's!

While it could never displace my all time fave UP Beach House BBQ, or the gem that is Amber's or that classic (since 1955) BBQ of Aling Nene's, Cendong's barbecue will now occupy a space in my stomach. 128523

It's quite different from any pork barbecue I've tried. Because it seems to be using pork tenderloin, or some soft but non-fatty pork part. Because it's lean yet flavorful. With their sauce drippings slightly thick, salty sweet, Cendong barbecue really hits the spot! For P70, you get two sticks, complemented by fresh atchara. Let me tell you, that barbecue and atchara will make you want to crave that rice (yeah, totally screws up any no carb diet 128514128518128520), too. Yes, rice is extra. If you love the sauce, you can ask the nice waiters and they'll gladly oblige. Barbecue rating: perfect 5/5!

Sometines, we add pork sisig (seen at the back of the picture), which is also pretty good. The pork sisig has good seasoning, malaman, and isn't the type coated with chicharon, but is quite enjoyable anyway. A bit spicy but otherwise, decent. May laban sa (Original for me since it was my first) Trellis. #blasphemy (hahaha)

Squid Camaron (Calamares) - a few times, I ordered this. It's got good coating, a bit thick and not as saltyl and that calamares crunch. Wait, okay it's technically Camaron style which is heavier on the flour. 3.5/5 but still a good price for this and their other main dishes.

All these make me want to order a Super Dry or a Brew Kettle or a Light. Hahaha.

Furniture, interiors and ambiance won't be much, like I said, it's a converted house. Good enough parking outside for about 5, and 3 to 4 more on the road itself. 3/5

Service is usually excellent here. Sometimes I call ahead to reserve. And they do that, even though they don't know me. That was cool of them. Even the guard is quite attentive and happy to assist you when you park or leave. 5/5

Overall, a solid 4! Great prices, too!

Order their tokwa baboy.. The best! Prices per dish ranges from php100-400. So if you are with a group and wants to hang out for two bots in a chill / house/backyard ambiance but on a low budget, choose Cendong's.

I study in PSID and this is the closest cheap and non-fastfood we can get. My friends didn't want to eat here at first because they thought food was expensive, but when they saw that prices are reasonable, GO LANG! haha

I had adobong kangkong (50pesos) and tokwa't tokwa(110pesos). My friends ordered bihon (155pesos) and Sisig(i think 120+) quite cheap! Food was good!

Oh! 35pesos for leche flan, which according to my friend is very good too!

ADVERTISMENT:
I recently joined a contest and I need votes! If you're not too busy, can I ask you to vote for me, pretty pleaaaaase! 128532

Our go to place when we're too lazy to cook food. Try their garlic chicken. They also serve oysters, although not regularly.

[Parked here, went to the bank across the street... came back but had to order... 128531 I'm surprised I can looloo it, so yeah, here we go... 128077]

Maalat ang pansit. Matabang ang buko salad. Ngunit, magaan naman sa bulsa! Iyon lang ang aking masasabi. 128517

Tagalog dapat kasi Filipino na kainan ito! 128539
