A friend invited me to go swimming at Century Park Hotel last weekend. Since it is already summer, and the heat in Manila is killer, I said why not.

I wasn't even aware that Century Park Hotel allows walk in guests to swim in their pool! For the price of P450 per person, you get access to their lap pool, the big pool, jacuzzi (out of order during my visit), and shower rooms with lockers. Price is so-so for me. You'd better get a good soak if you want to make the most out of that fee.

The lap pool's temperature is pretty cool, so it's good if you want to cool down for a bit. But take note of their rule, you have to keep swimming laps if you want to stay there. No dilly-dallying. You can rest at the edges to catch your breath but no "tambay".

The big pool's temperature is kinda hot as compared to the lap pool because it's not covered anymore. This pool is deeper, since it goes as deep as 10feet!

Overall, it was a good workout! Swimming laps and just floating around the big pool. 128513

Century park hotel is well maintained by the Lucio Tan Group eversince it was acquired from DBP since the 1980s. Still, considered to be one of the cheapest to stay in or rent their function room.
Well i came here because of the wedding reception of a friend. Buffet.
I could say the food is generally good. Ika nga “bwe phai tsia”
My favorites here were the artichoke and walnut salad, the pork medallion, the seafood pasta, and the beef dish (forgot the name). Beef was really really tender and cooked well done.
I dont like their ice cream. So thin and... Bland
I also got to taste the lemon cheesecake. And the mango baklava. 128077

They don't always have this taro dessert. Only when there's an event, a special day, or when there's a wedding. So lucky that there's a wedding today! 128539

Our home for 4 nights...

It is under renovation and the place badly needs it! Gone is the old grandeur of the place and its' well worn shellis what remains... The place has great bones, though it comes with several problems...

No basement where you can park-- I just learned that the soil is soft, thus basements aren't advisable in this general location.... Thus, problem parking!

Ballrooms looked tired-- frayed table cloths, stained chairs and chipped paint...

Carpets were worn and dirty-- the kind that can no longer be fixed by cleaning but needs to be ripped up and replaced already...

Few TV channels-- on a very old TV, btw... Box type really heavy TV from two decades back...

Worn pillows-- they have cradled many a tired head already...

Frayed towels-- some had lipstick stains on them too...

Heavy doors-- not arthritis friendly...

No mini bar-- in the ref that feels lukewarm inside...

Incomplete toiletries-- sad!

Renovation is ongoing... Hopefully it reagins it's previous glory...128522

Century hotel badjao room

A small gathering of 10 tables to celebrate a family friend 70th bday

Room is in dire need of remodeling... I feel like I'm in some kind of dungeon with its stone cut dirty looking walls
... White greyish lightings make the place look even more grim & gloomy

Food was typically Chinese luriat... Nothing special , just clean straight forward food to make a person full.. Lol

Our school held the First Digital Social Design Conference here for 3 days. The food and desserts are just so excellent. Their bread bun is just so addicting that me and my friends just want to go back and buy dozens of those buns.

The newly renovated room was well designed and felt clean and comfortable. I like the bathroom design. It has glass partitions which makes the room big and has drapes for privacy, has a separate bath tub and shower area. The hotel is old and huge and needs renovation esp their lobby. Century Tsukiji serves good authentic Japanese cuisine, affordable for hotel dining with very attentive staff.

It's been about 20 years since I was here last! And because my family (except for me!) is getting tired of 7 corners, we decided to try out cafe in the park to celebrate my dad's birthday. We used to eat here all the time when I was younger so I had a lot of memories here too.
We got vouchers off ENSOGO (799/ea instead of 1700).
Century park is very old, like 38yrs old or something. And I don't think they have done any renovations. Everything was just as I remembered haha! Cafe in the park is located in the lower lobby near the escalators.
For 799 I think the spread is substantial and ok. They had a lot of fresh sausages (home made I suppose), smoked salmon, smoked tanigue etc. The salad spread was ok too. Just don't expect prime rib, lobster etc. They had a meat carving, dunno what it was but it was good too. Hubby tried the Mongolian bowls and the dumplings and he said they were good as well. The place is just old but old fashioned at the same time which gives it a quaint touch.
The one thing I really liked though is that there are no lines! No elbowing your way to the food or waiting for refills.
All in all I think it's a good spread for the price with good ambience 128522

I'm a big fan of cheesecakes so I tried them out for merienda. I tasted the blueberry and the baked mango cheesecake. The baked mango one was okay (good, but quite generic) while the blueberry one kinda lacked sweetness :(
