Had a light dinner, enjoyed their pan fried noodle, braised mustasa stems, wasabe prawn, crispy beef brisket, tender, juicy and crispy. Plus chinese ginataan and masachi for dessert. Trully one of the better chinese resto in town.

Yesterday's Chinese New Year lunch was at Century Seafood Restaurant, an all time favorite for big reception weddings or special celebrations for the local Chinese community. This is where you have your traditional 8-course lauriat, starting with my favorite Assorted Cold Cuts, also known as the Five Happiness Combination Platter of century eggs, jellyfish, kikiam (best kikiam ever), ham and braised chicken. This was really good! We then had mushroom soup, braised abalone in superior sauce, stuffed scallop with brocolli, crab cake, steamed lapu-lapu, fried pigeons with white crackers , and lastly the long life braised noodles. I would have preferred the Century fried rice (which I heard is the best) at the end, but noodles is always a better symbol for special occasions or birthdays among the Chinese. That's why it is not usual to see fried rice being served in a true Chinese lauriat. To cap the meal was this delicious & chewy mochi balls with peanut butter inside, and warm sweet red bean soup.

Century Seafood, indeed, still serves high quality lauriat. As a trivia, lauriat comes from the Chinese Hokien word 'lau-diat' meaning merry making or fun & festive. So wishing you all 'Kiong Hee (Huat Tsai)' (meaning 'congratulations and wishing you prosperity') in Hokien. This is actually how Tsinoys greet each other in the Philippines, and not 'Kung Hei Fat Choi' which is the Cantonese version. ;)

May the year of the Wooden Sheep bring you happiness, good health and prosperity!

My family is definitely a regular customer of Century since I was born. We eat here around 10-15 times every year and I'm not kidding... A typical Filipino Chinese like me will think that super nakakasawa na talaga ang Chinese lauriat food!! But then after eating in other famous Chinese restaurants, Century still remains the best in the Philippines!

My favorites here:

1. Sweet and Sour Pork
- When my family is not up for lauriats, we would call this simple Chinese dish. Century's sweet and sour pork is the best! Super crispy pork and it is bursting with flavor!!

2. Two- way cooked red lapu lapu
- Century always has the freshest catch! We always request for the good fish and laging malaman yung fish namin! You can have one fish cooked into two ways such as the one stewed with tofu or pan- fried with vegetables. Kahit two-way or hindi (steamed fish), masarap pa rin!

3. Whole scallops (picture above)
- SML for this!! I love scallops in general and nothing beats eating a whole scallop!!

4. Birthday Noodles
- i've eaten the birthday noodles of other restaurants but nothing beats Century's especially in terms of quality. They have squid, pork, chicken, shrimp, fish ball, string beans and quail eggs and everything is of good quality

*5. Sharksfin soup in a buko
- reason for the * is that I prefer not to eat sharksfin... I don't have a choice though and it's already there. What pains me more is that the sharksfin in this soup is HUGE but super good at the same time 128557 it also has scallops inside and I had fun eating the buko meat i scraped off along with the soup! :))

*6. Crab with crab rice
- reason for the * is that i'm allergic to crabs... But this is like the winner for my family!! Everyone loves this and the crab rice tastes awfully good too!!

Of course, this place is quite pricey but I assure you that everything you eat is of good quality!

This is absolutely the best chinese seafood restaurant in the Metro. Even after decades, this is still the best. Their bestelling "soft-shell crab" even needs to be reserved beforehand just to get a hold of. It's their own version of soft shell crab and not the one where the whole crab is edible. Another dish that needs to be reserved is the sharksfin soup placed inside a coconut shell. I know shark's fin is not ethical to eat nowadays but the soup they cook it in is just phenomenal. I hope to find next time a restaurant serving just the soup where they put the shark's fin in. Other delicious dishes are the abalone rice and seafood in taro balls. Those are our family favorites! Don't hesitate to order other dishes in their menu, you can't go wrong with it. They also offer us free dessert which we always pick the taro sago. It's the perfect ending to a wonderful meal.

Attended a wedding reception last night...128112127913 Great Chinese Lauriat as always, most notably this Abalone and Mushroom dish with Lettuce 128156

This place is huge but so chaotic...128561 don't expect anything fancy even if it's inside a hotel... but the food more than makes up for the ambiance 128513

haven't been here for a long time. today I attended a wedding banquet of a relative.

quality has dipped through the years. not as good as I recall.

menu for tonight:
suckling pig with seaweed- good! I can eat the whole serving. crunchy and only a little fat.

breaded prawn in wasabi mayo- fail. prawn was not fresh. coating was thick. wasabi mayo so-so.

seafood noodle- a few shrimps, a piece of squid, baguio beans, and LOTS of SQUID BALLS! a little bland for my taste and a bit dry. cost cutting maybe?

crabmeat soup- they should rename this to ginger crabmeat thick soup.

abalone and mushroom- abalone is sliced very thin and has a rough texture. mushroom is soft and good!

steamed lapulapu- fresh fish. good!

fried pigeon- malnourished. so-so in flavor.

dried scallop in wintermelon- meh...

seafood taro- not bad. crunchy shell and soft mashed taro.

Love the food here, we're always here for special ocassions. Today we're here for a friend's wedding. We we're too busy eating I wasn't able to take pictures of the other food. Everything is good here but for this particular set menu, I like the wasabi prawn the best!127844

The sight of these fried pigeons always freak me out, but if you wanna have a real Lauriat table, Century Seafood restaurant is one of the best. Just be ready to spend 10-15k per table.

It's my sister's graduation! And we got ourselves a set for 12 people with 16k worth of food! Gosh! XD

I tried the duck legs, it was quite interesting. My fave would be the fried shrimp with wasabi mayo, but my uncle and aunt hated it. They think the sauce was too sweet. :) Well, everything else was delicious or just good. :))

This is a seafood restaurant and since I loooove seafood, forgive me if I'm a little biased. 128521 The food is great but I was not that happy with the way they served the food. They served it one at a time at first, and then they bombard us with the later servings. It kinda ruined the appetite of some of my friends. We also had to keep on asking for condiments. The event I attended was a wedding reception and the place was suitable for it. The food was okay, and so was the sound system. All in all, the place was nice.

Ate here for free today courtesy of my dad's associates! :)) I love the food. I think we ordered a set meal per table, because we had unlimited bottle water and softdrinks. The highlights for me would probably the"ma chang"!! It's probably the best ma chang I had yet! It's rice was soft and sticky, it was very flavorful, the salted egg inside just complimented the dish and the lotus leaf wrap just made it the aroma even better! :) too bad ate it before taking a picture. Everything else tasted great or was good! Too bad I don't know what they were called. I was again too shy to take pictures and ask, for I was just a guest. :( #foodieguestproblems lol hahah

Great Chinese food! Loved the steamed soft shell crab, US scallops sautéed with corn and rock lobster with garlic sauce. Ask for the seasonal imported veggies.

Favorite Chinese seafood restaurant!! :) Hot Prawn Salad is always the best here. I also love the Garlic Crabs :) Cold Cuts appetizer (asado, century egg, hainanese chicken, etc.) isn't bad either!
