Comfort food. We ordered Beef Wanton Soup, fried wanton, chopsuey, pork with tausi rice plus their asado siopao. Everything was good but the asado siopao was average. It's an improved version of mamon luk.

Charlie's Wanton Special is a Hole-In-The-Wall Affordable Chinese Restaurant in San Juan. It reminds me a lot of Hap Chan and Manhann but cheaper and no frills. carinderia style with aircon. No fancy set ups unlike the other Chinese Restos. Just good food.

According to my boyfriend who lives in San Juan, it's a popular Chinese Resto ever since he was a kid. It often gets full and it's popular among the residences in the area. They have the best Shomai and Mami daw but sadly I wasn't able to try it upon visiting cause it was already out of stock 128542

So instead I ordered their Rice Meal, I ordered their Fish Fillet Taosi for P185. The serving is huge I believe this is alredy good for 2. The boyfie ordered their Lechon rice and he didn't really like it that much.

I will definitely come back for the shomai and see if it's worth the hype! If you have been here any recos what to order next time?

One of the places that I consider as an institution. If you want simple yet delicious unpretentious Chinese food, this is the place to go.

Amazing that such restaurants exists in this kind of place. Haig street is far from civilization and if you don't use waze, this place will be uncharted for you.

This restaurant is not a classy one. It is like a kanto style cafeteria that serve wanton and dimsum. Restos typically found in the binondo/ongpin area.

We went here because of boss' craving for wanton noodles, it was originally located daw at binondo area but then was transferred here.

128204128525 special wanton with siomai
Placed in a bowl that may seem a small serving at first, but then the wanton is packed inside. 5pcs shrimp siomai and an extra small bowl of soup to go with it. Good think my stomaxh is extra expandable i was able to consume all solid food. The siomai is not really that good type, more like a bola bola with a piece of shrimp placed in a wanton wrapper. The soup tastes a bit salty with hints of green onions.

128204 bola bola siopao
The bun is super soft. The bola bola stuff is comparable with 7/11's (well i like those kind of bun unlike kowloon's)

Overall super busog at 250. Possible fir a cold night, and good thing nights are now a bit tolerable after some showers of rain. Parking is available good for about 8 cars. 9786

Still one of the best, if not the best, beef wanton noodle soups I have ever tried. A medium bowl (which is huge already) is just p155 and comes with an extra bowl of soup just because the toppings can't fit into one bowl.

Each bowl already has a load of perfectly al dente noodles, 3-4 pieces of yummy wanton, a generous amount of greens, and juicy and flavorful beef and litid.

Perfect for any cold and rainy weather. 128077

Ps: their fried tofu platter (which is only p120) is amazing too. 128523

Wanton Noodle Soup!! 128077128077 i like their wantons! Meaty and tasty!

One of our go-to place in the neighborhood when we're craving for noodle soup and/or simple Chinese food.

Parking is difficult and more often than not, it'll be double parking. But there's a watch-your-car boy so it's ok. Parking along the street is not allowed.

They dont have delivery service, just pick-up.

Get the beef wanton and no need for siomai. Ultimate rainy day comfort food. 1 out of 5 tries has the Machang available.

They serve very delicious wanton noodles here. Planning to come back soon to eat wanton noodles again. And if I have extra capacity, I'll try out other dishes on their menu.

Attended a meeting at one of our offices in V. Mapa and my office mate and food trip guide/buddy suggested we try this restaurant. Best wanton noodle ever!!! My fellow mancom members ordered the rice toppings. Will try it next time.

Mandarin and Fukian speaking folks makes this place feels like authentic i'm looking for dead cat tails around the back to validate why their Siopao is so delicious.

Bleh! Ordered the Charli'es rice topping at -170.00, my friend Kaye lechon kawali rice topping-170.00. The lechon's soggy & aint crispy! The egg topping's 128547 oily & bleh! Both our rice toppings taste bland & so bleh! Both my sons ordred beef wanton noodles-170.00. Well, my boys do love their noodles and they really crave this everytime, but not me! 128533

A hole in the wall that's always jam-packed because of cheap and filling good eats!

I agree.

Spent less than 500 bucks for:

Beef Wonton Special Mami
Asado Special Mami
2 Special Bola Bola Siomai
3 bottled water

Out of my way but glad to have finally tried this place.

Busog Lusog!
