This is the story of how Philippines took my breath away. I thought I had seen everything nature had to offer but I was wrong. Batanes is a very beautiful place, even if it may be hard to reach. We acquired their tour package and Chawa Viewdeck is one of those stops that left me speechless. Now on to the review ---->

I was surprised when we suddenly stopped in the middle of the road. The van parked near a view deck for us to appreciate the exquisite Pacific Ocean. This was our first stop of the South Batanes Tour, an ideal choice because it offers a quick glimpse of what’s to come. I can see the Basco Lighthouse from here too!

I was even more amazed when I saw a stone staircase the lead us down to the base of the cliff. The staircase gradually becomes steeper as you go further down. It is important to go down step by step. As the saying goes, “Slowly but surely.” Upon reaching the base of the cliff, we were greeted by the majestic view of God’s creations. Even though there were only rocks and water, the unique formations of rocks and deep blue ocean gave it so much life. Waves were quite strong as the sea water splashes intensely on the rocks. The pictures do not reflect even half of its beauty up close! Beyond doubt, it was really breathtakingly beautiful 128525

The way up proved to be a struggle as well since it required several flights of steps. But fear not as the effort is all worth it128077🏻

Chawa Viewdeck is one of my many favorite spots in Basco. The view is breathtaking. This leveled up my standards on viewdecks! Grabe.

Can you see the mini pond/pool on the picture? Aaahhh. I heard Coco Martin went there! Unfortunately, the waves were really high and it was very dangerous for us to go near the mini pool. It only means that I should go back and feel the Batanes breeze again and try that mini pool! 9786

Sadly, the Municipality of Mahatao started collecting 50php tourism fee per tourist.

Noticeable changes have been made - a gate was built and the benches were repainted. Plus, there's a small hut for the collector. 128514

Go down a few steps and you'll get upclose and personal with the heavy smashing of the waves on various coral formations.

Imho, you can skip this one and go to other places instead.

Those steps seemed like an easy feat. From afar, those steps seemed easy. As we got near its entrance, this guy seemed so tired that he only wanted one photo. That should have been a warning for me. Going down was a bit easy. You just have to be careful on the rocks at the bottom. But the way back to the top, boy, that was the hard part! Those steps suddenly doubled in my view. As all things that we worked hard for, the view adm environment at the bottom enthralled me. The rock formations at that area was kinda spellbinding. There was this portion that contain blue-green water. It had rocks at the bottom too which makes one want to dip their feet and relax. The sea at this portion was calm that it worked in harmony with the rock formation.

So if you're heading here, make sure to do some good cardio as the way back could get tiring. But I assure you that the view at the bottom is simply enthralling and spellbinding. 128171127913128131🏻
