There are really no restaurants in Calatagan so we just decided to find a restaurant along the way.

Along the way i saw a sign for Chez Deo in Balayan. Since it was already 2pm we decided to go there.

Chez Deo is located near the Church. It is housed in a Old House. Parking is along the streets.

The menu of Chez Deo is extensive. You would not think that a restaurant like it exists in Balayan. We ordered their pizza (forgot the name), a beef rib dish (forgot the name again) and tbone steak.

While waiting for the dish we were given bread slices and a dip.

First dish to arrive was the pizza. The pizza was good but somehow it didn't impress me. It probably has something to do with the sauce as i like my pizza on the sweet side.

The Tbone Steak i really enjoyed. It was delicious. The mushroom gravy was very good and it was overflowing with mushrooms. The beef rib was good too and very tender.

The servings here are big. The tbone steak my sister and i shared. While the beef rib, all of us three shared.

Service was efficient. Definitely one of the best italian restos in the country.

i've gone here more than 5 times now, if i recall correctly. mostly came with my co-workers and one time with my parents to celebrate mother's day.

the ambience here is really cozy. especially at night when the lights are dim. it's quite romantic. i always liked the old style house (bahay na bato) turned restaurant theme. i love that one secluded room upstairs for a more quiet feel and there are other customers drinking happily downstairs.

food is quite excellent. especially there daily specials. although a bit more expensive than their regular menu. i love pizza so there's almost always pizza when i eat there. haha even my dad who was a chef in Italy said that the food there was really good. food serving is just right and sometimes they are even enough for sharing.

the price is ok. not for everyday dining but eating here every one or two weeks with friends would not hurt the budget.

service is very nice. the people there are very welcoming. and they would gladly explain to you each meal on the menu. they have a fast service of food. right after the waiter has taken your order, they will serve you free appetizer consisting of home-baked bread and pesto sauce. and this you can ask for seconds.

payment can be thru cc but only if your bill is at 1,000 or higher. they also accept delivery thi i haven't that it yet.

in terms of its location, it's not on the main road. it's located near balayan town proper. parking is at the streets.

we'll be coming back for more. :)
