I want to eat this everyday! But I'd go broke and I actually got a mild allergic reaction to the shrimp tempura (worth it!).

This place is located towards the back parts of IT Park. They have sister restaurants: Barikata Ramen Bar (also in IT Park) and Kushiyaki Chikuzenya (along A.S. Fortuna in Banilad-Mandaue area). I also ate at KC and loved everything that was ordered too (will review it later).

Back to my review, this came as a set--tempura with California maki. I definitely recommend this set especially if you're a Cali maki fan like me. For a great paring, I ordered umeshu, which is a Japenese apricot (ume) cocktail.

Friendly, fast service much like at Chikuzenya.

One of the more authentic restaurants in Cebu, this Shoyu ramen just hits the spot. Delicious broth and pork.

In the heart of Cebu City, this place for me is a little underrated and underappreciated. This restaurant is probably one of the most authentic I've ever been to and it's always full of japanese people so it must be that good?

When you enter you're greeted by waitresses that wear kimonos and slippers. The menu serves a variety of authentic japanese dishes from katsus to bentos to sobas and other unfamiliar dishes. I opted for their best selling bento, the Chibori Bento. Since this bento is big, they serve it to you on a two-story-jewelry-box-style bento box that drops your jaw in its size. The bento composes of beef yakiniku, fresh soba that you have to mix with quail egg, vegetable and shrimp tempura, fresh salmon, squid and tuna sashimi with roe, california maki, and three other maki alternatives. Oh and some egg custard for appetizer, miso soup and fresh fruits for dessert. They should have a sign that says "good for two" for having too much food in one bento. I got to try their Tonkatsu and Shoyu ramen as well and they were pretty delicious as well! A milky broth with al dente noodles. A little pricey but well worth your money. This restaurant is as japanese as it gets. Authentic, clean and delicious.
