I found this pic while cleaning up my phone but this was taken last year when I got sent to Manila for work. I wish this was in Cebu coz I badly need some motivation to go to work later after a 14-day holiday....

This has to be the BEST popcorn eveeeerrr!

I got Almond Krisp- Double and it was really good!!! It's not too sweet and it's good for sharing.

It's kind of pricey and it's not something I want to buy once a week, maybe once a month will do.

You probably won't notice their small kiosk in GB3 because of all the restaurants all over the place. But I'm glad I stopped by to check it out!

I haven't met anyone who loves popcorn as much as I do. As a kid, I always make sure I have 5 or 10 pesos in my pocket always ready just in case there are vendors near by. You know those vendors with their sidecar selling cheese, plain and pink popcorns? That's what I grew up with.

This blue can kinda of brought me back in time when I was a kid.

Super loved it! Grab one now! 128522

Chicago Mix FTW!!!

A trip to Glorietta/Greenbelt is not complete without a refill!!! I always leave the empty can in the car para di nakakalimutan.

Nice that they have the measuring thing now so it'll always be consistent.

Chicago Mix (big) refill for P250. They now weigh it and pour into a shaker to get a better sweet and salty consistency. I bring this big can to the office and is always simot sarap before the day ends! Yum!!!

I was at a loose end on a Friday night and decided to watch a movie on my own (The Way, Way Back - watch it!) I hung out at GB3 waiting for my friend to decide if she'll join me. So I got a bag of the popcorn with almonds in it to munch on while killing time. It's almost too sweet, but I like it just fine. Problem is when you get a stiff jaw from munching all that sweet sticky stuff. Ouch. Next time I'll try the more crunchy flavors.

My #SuggestSunday goes to eiLeeN T who recced this shop (keep 'em coming!) and Peanut D just because (awwwww!)

The closest thing to Garrett's popcorn (US, Singapore), I discovered Chicago Popcorn last year or maybe even in 2011 pa (P.L. or Pre-Looloo), but I was remiss in reviewing them.

Thanks to eiLeeN T for reminding me.

Anyway, in the recent months, I rekindled my love for their popcorns, and dinamay ko rin yung team ko. I dusted off my tin can that I purchased over a year ago, and asked them to refill it. The big tin can is about P350 for most of their popcorns, be it cheese, caramel, Chicago Mix (cheese + caramel), Karamel Krisp (caramel plus almonds and cashew nuts), and chocolate drizzle. These tin cans are refillable and you get P90-P100 off your order so the caramel becomes P250 while the Karamel Krisp P360.

I've only ordered their plain caramel and Krisp versions in the past (5/5!!!), so this time I tried their Chicago mix.

The saltiness and soft bite of cheese contrasted with the hard crunch and uber sweetness of caramel popcorns is certainly a different experience. It's a once in a while order. Coz the pure or nuts infused caramel popcorn are my go-to flavors. Haha.

Garrett's has a more burnt caramel taste while Chicago Popcorn Shops has a more traditional sweet caramel but ahluvit. Order mo for dessert or while watching a movie upstairs in GB 3. They have smaller packs for under P100 for the calorie or budget conscious.

I have an empty container of Chicago's Tin Can, and my sister borrowed that since, it's 70 pesos less if you have their tin can. 128077 Yes, it will be like refill. Hmmm. Actually, it really is! 128514

We had their Almond and Caramel. It was good. 128077 But not whooaa super good factor. Reminds me of Kettle Corn with a generous amount of caramel. 128523

What I'm looking for is the one that tastes like Chocolate Lovers from Poppycock came from States. I don't know where am I gonna look for that one. 128534

got a can of Chicago mix popcorn with that note from my mom a few weeks back and thought it tasted good, but it felt like my sweet tooth was going to turn black after eating it because the caramel flavored ones were overly sweet! it felt like popping sugar balls into my mouth. there were cheese flavored ones to balance it out, but it tasted nothing special and 'got kunat' fast.

wouldn't really go all the way to Greenbelt or MOA for this so i gave the can to my brother instead. still sticking with my economical supermarket-bought yet great tasting microwavable popcorn of choice.. MagicTime Popcorn - Kettle Korn flavor. it has the perfect sweet-salty taste that i like minus the guilt.

Caramel Almond Crunch. I think I won't come across someone who would hate this. It's just not possible. 128155
