We were meant to be on the adjacent restaurant for wings, but we cant wait too long as we were only out for lunch break.
So we decided to check out Chihuahua. They definitely had the space. Seemed like a good vibe from outside.
There were latin-dancing ladies and gents, a sole table occupied by a diner, and the middle space cleared for dancing.
Although we were suppose to order by the counter, the wait cum cashier accommodated my request of having our orders taken altogether. He did write them down correct, the prep person however got the 2 steak salads wrong and made them into burrito bowls. We couldn't change the order because they were out of steak. They were also out of mushrooms. After asking whether id like a cup or a bowl of chili, the kind staff came back to say they were out of chili.
I understand that our orders may take a couple of minutes so I asked if a nacho grande (Php225) will be easy to prep so we can munch on something already. Good thing someone ordered one ahead because my order came after a couple of the orders were served. It took them a while. A long while. One had to bring the wrong steak order out as it was served almost half an hour after, to complete our order.
Again, let me say, the staff were all friendly. The food was just ok.
You can have your order prepped as a salad, as an open tortilla, as a bowl or a wrapped burrito.
The CHIPS were good!
The bowl had beans, rice, a small amount of tomato salsa and a dollop of cream. The beef picadillo was hardly there (P275). The steak was at least visible (P325) - if only on the picture (the lighting wasn't exactly conducive to dining, the cant put up candles because the fan was on - because the a/c refused to be felt).
In the end, I may have to come back, because I earned some points with some sort of a loyalty program that is equivalent to cash.
I hope that by then I can get a more pleasant experience as I try out their cocktails.
They have a happy hour and what they call a "Taco Tuesday" where they offer it at 50% off. Might be a safer time if you want to give it a try and still be on the budget.
hasta luego!

I enjoy a good burrito. Chihuahua Mexican Grill serves a nice, big Beef Picadillo Burrito (P287). The whole thing is stuffed to the brim with Mexican fried rice, vegetables, beans, and beef. It is filling enough that it could be good enough for two people. I also ordered additional sour cream (P45) to give the burrito the sour kick that I crave.

Guests who come at night can also enjoy dancing on the wide open floor in front of the counter. They can also play tabletop games like dominoes or Jenga if they prefer to do so. Since it was night time the place was quite dim and the music was blaring from the speakers. This might not be the place for people looking for a nice, quiet meal, but it would suit those looking for a loud, fun time.

Tonight when feeling quite fatigue from a just concluded out of town trip, food came to the rescue and made me smile again. It wasn’t just any food. It was a mix of American Mexican, Chihuahua.

Their atmosphere is quite festive with lots of post on the wall on event photos, celebrity shots and appetizing food. There is even colorful banderitas on its ceiling.

Chihuahua also offers Zumba on Tuesdays and what they have been quite known for, Salsa on Saturdays. They got a dance instructor on these nights for some guidance.

Tonight though on a usual quiet Sunday, we were the only customers. We were also fortunate to catch the 2 for 1 Margaritas minutes away from its deadline. Try their Mango, Strawberry or Classic. We also had full attention from the wait staff.

For less than Php 900, two of us shared a generous portions of two bowls: Chicken Salad and Steak Bowl. The first one had an apt combination fit for Salad + Mexican. I suggest pouring a whole side of fresh guacamole for an added healthy feel and taste.

The second one was a favorite. The steak was well marinated and tender. It’s good combining with stand alone Mexican rice. The chips added a nice texture and the salsa a well meaning sour and salty touch to it.

Had their chicken soft taco for lunch today since it was Taco Tuesdays (50% OFF all tacos!).

Each serving gives you three soft tacos which was very filling. They do not scrimp on the stuff they put inside the tacos (lettuce, chicken and Pico de Gallo), which was quite flavorful and seasoned well. I noticed though the ratio between the lettuce and chicken was drastic, with the former beating the latter. In other words, if they added a bit more chicken it would have been a big difference.

If you're craving for Mexican food and you just happen to be in the area, then go to Chihuahua.

Tip: If you order takeout, ask for extra sauce cups as well and take advantage of their sauce station. Get extra servings of chipotle, Pico de Gallo (my fave), and more!

I super loved their chicken and spinach quesadilla! Great place to hang out, chill with some beers and play jenga. I loved the whole feel of the place. It wasn't packed either considering we went on a Saturday night.

If you are craving for authentic Mexican food in BGC, Chihuahua Mexican Grill is the best place to go.

The place is nice and you can see pictures of famous local celebrities who visited their place. You can also use their board games while waiting for your food.

I have tried their Burrito and I liked it! You can also try their famous quesadillas and tacos!

Definitely, one of the best places to chill!

I'm not a huge fan of Mexican food - it's not something I usually crave or look for - but there are times when I just want something good and comforting. Aside from breakfast food, Mexican food is also one of my go to comfort food. Contradicting, yes but don't you just love nachos, cheesy tacos and quesadillas, and burrito! 128525128518128517

I've always wanted to try this restaurant but never really had the chance to. They have two branches in BGC - this one and the other in central highstreet.

We decided to try this branch since we want to eat and dine, the one in highstreet is ideally just for take out. It's cheaper there, though.

We arrived at around 1230pm and the place was empty. No customers. Hmmmmm. 128550 Typical mexican restaurant but the place looked really sad and old. Maybe because of the fact that there were no one else inside.

We were really hungry so we ordered right away. The server suggested we try the following: Nacho Grande, Spinach Chicken Quesadilla, and Beef Picadillo Burrito.

Service was slow since it took them 20minutes or more before our orders were served. Also, we were quite disappointed because the server informed us that they no longer have spinach, after we're done ordering, so they will just replace it with mushroom. We wanted to just change our order to plain cheese quesadilla but the server told us that we can no longer change it kasi "na-order na"! (Booooo! 128078🏼).

The burrito was too heavy -- there was too much rice and we can't even taste the beef! 128534 The quesadilla was okay. Cheesy but I just wish there were more chicken (and may spinach na sana next time 128527). The only thing we liked and enjoyed was the Nachos. It was loaded with cheese, sour cream, guacamole, salsa, jalapeño,beans, beef and all the nice things! 128513

Probably one of the best TexMex joints in the Makati-BGC area. Their burritos are a mouthful! But the taste is just as big. Try their Nacho Grande as well. Muy, muy delicioso!

I liked it! buuuuut I have El Chupacabra as one of my comparisons. 128521 Their sisig tacos are still better and cheaper, though Chihuahua's price is reasonable naman. 128512 My friend got their burrito and it was also good! Many posters on the wall claim that they're the Best Burrito in the Metro by spot.ph. I wonder how true. Also a lot of pictures of celebrities dining in on their walls.

I can't help but wonder why their name is Chihuahua. Anyone help me? Enlighten me please? 128517

Updated review**

If you'll notice in previous Chihuahua's reviews, my previous comments about this restaurant took a complete 360 after the manager reached out to me. It really shows what hoops the owners, Elian and Ines, will jump through to keep the customers happy.

With that said, I have seen an immense improvement in customer service at the BHS and Fort locations, and was even able to try some new dishes. nachos - to DIE for. Picadillo burrito, amazing. Carnitas tacos, another great menu item.

Definitely my favorite Mexican restaurant. I recommend staying at the restaurant to eat your food so that its fresh and tasty, so you won't have a similar experience like I did! That way, you can take advantage of the fun games they have laying out on the table.

I stopped mid-dinner just to write this review, that's how bad it was.

Went there to order for take out, was overcharged, and waited THIRTY MINUTES for a fcking take out order. Why? Because they ran out of meat and had to cook some... THEN realizing they ran out of rice. There goes my free night.

I get home only to find out that my tacos were sitting there during that waiting duration, and we're completely SOGGY.

THENNNNN I realize I'm over charged! Perfect fcking night, thanks chihuahuas. please let me know who I can speak with regarding this.

This is as Mexican as Mexican can be!!! This 12 inch Beef Picadillo Burrito is the best I have tasted so far! Extremely generous with the stuffing; lots of beef, rice, tomatoes, onions, bean paste and other deliciously fresh veggies.

The wrap is nice and soft and toasted just right. The rice was moist and flavorful and the beef, oh the beef! Wonderful blend of spicy and salty goodness. Perfectly matched with the sweetness and crunch of the veggies.

They even had a Salsa Bar where I had a chance to try my own concoction, which of course paled in comparison to their original blend. Right next to that is the Hot Sauce Counter which offered a choice of sauces from mild to scorching!!!

Very satisfying lunch over all. Need to come back and try the Quesadillas and the Margarita!

I liked the nachos and hotdog, but not the burrito. I ordered 12-inch steak burrito. The steak inside is too dry. 128532

Not sure if I'll come back...

Terrible. Just terrible.

The 10-inch burrito was served cold with old rice. Meat was dry and chewy. And I didn't have a ruler handy, but it didn't look like 10-inches to me. Might've over exaggerated there to impress the ladies.

Not sure why everyone is giving it good reviews. Surely this isn't what's to be expected from Manila #1 burrito joint. Was I served a fluke?!?! Telle B to validate.

We are coding, so we decided to drop by this joint while waiting for 7PM.. I fell in love with chihuahua the first time I went to their first branch in Makati Ave. I heard that the BGC branch is already open so we gave it a try....I ordered Beef Picadillio Burrito for take out and margarita and Chips and quezo while waiting . Margarita was really good. 128525128525128525 and the quezo dip was yummy.. The place is spacious.. I wonder if they have Salsa nights here too..128131128131128131128131

One of the best burritos I've eaten so far. I got the 10 inch one with the steak toppings, a serving o nachos with queso dip and a can of regular coke. It's so tasty that every part of the burrito is good. Better equipped with their wide array of hot sauce for you to choose in their hot sauce library. Yes, library! I tried the Iguana XXX hot sauce. It's hot but good. As said on the label, Pretty Damn Good!

Their nachos also is to die for. Their queso dip is not only a cheesy dip but a mixture of a handful of ingredients that really complemented the overall taste. A colleague initially ordered one and since I haven't digged in too much on it, I ordered for myself as well. It's that good!

All of their servings are of American size. It made me remember my visit to America last year with all those overflowing good food! They're still on soft opening as of now but will eventually cater and serve more food. Will definitely go back when this happens.

I also love the interiors here. Simple yet classy. They also have this engaging background music that keeps playing Mexican tunes. Also, they have lots of photos of celebrities that had come to their place which is nice. We would love to go back here and hopefully try having some cerveza some time.
