Convenient to nearby residents. Cleaner than Joel Tore Manukan, 4xForce and not as noisy as Hugo Tapas. :)

After the Movie Mara, Zo was so hungry we did late dinner at Chololo's. Jelo said they love the food here. We ordered:
Warm Spinach Dip with nachos, was okay.

Chicken with Garlic Cream Sauce, Chicken is dry. Sauce is bland. 128532

Mashed Potato, no gravy included. 128549

Red Rice, just rice cooked in atchuete. not impress at all, 128532

Pork Jerk Pasta, worst part of the meal. Saggy noodles, bland sauce. Was excited for my sister said it's good. To her shock, taste was different from before-- oh wait. No taste at all. 128547 Was about to ask the server to do something bout it but it's just sad. I'm too sad to have it fix.

Salt and Pepper Spareribs, like it. 128513128077

Yakitori, love it! Five stars for this dish. 128513128077

place was okay, servers were good and fast.

We had a fashion show held here because my groupmate in this Class owns the place. Anyways, i likes the interior of the place. It's small but it's cozy although there were too much people that night that it wasn't that comfy. Hihi. I love their food esp their wings with the bleu cheese. Yum!! 128076

Completely forgot to review this place!128516

My friend celebrated her birthday a while back at Chololo's upon a clients' recommendation... The whole second floor was reserved for her party. I came in quite late and people were already eating when I made it to the bar... Music was blearing on the speakers already... Anything goes as the DJ accepts requests from the crowd... Despite the dimmed scene for the crowd downstairs, the second floor was kept well-lighted for the hungry guests to enjoy their dinner...128540

We had a variety of food, pictured is the ruffled potato chips... It was okay, but I chose the pic for the yin-yang ketchup/mayo sauce art, which was aliw for me! 128515 among all the dishes, our group was able to consume 9 orders of the mini tacos (there were about 20 people who came and went)... The birthday celebrant found that funny, as the buffalo chicken wings, liempo and spinach dip, which she thought were good, were not as benta as the tacos! The tacos were really good, bite sized pa, so no umay factor... You will just be surprised that you've finished a plateful already without noticing it... 128523

Of course, the drinks... I was told that the beer was cheap, but since it's a birthday treat, I can't vouch for the price myself... All I know is that they have a pretty extensive drinks list... My recollection of that night was pretty hazy after-- alcohol induced amnesia... But, what I remember best was the Starbucks coffee liquor that was passed around (corkage waived)... Not on their menu though!

We had fun singing karaoke for a chunk of the night before jumping in to dance... Videoke available upstairs!128561128526128523

Great place, good food! Hard to find parking, so come early if you don't want to park far and on the streets128518

Had a reunion here last night. The place has a nice modern interior. Now for the food...

🔸Island Pork Belly - cooked to perfection with an awesome BBQ sauce128077128077
🔸Chili Poppers - i don't even like the taste Jalapeño peppers (or any kind of peppers for that matter), but these babies were great!!! Comes with 2 sauces: tomato salsa & sweet tamarind sauce 128077128079
🔸Chicken sisig - damn good w/ crunchy chicharon bits! 128077128077128077
🔸Nachos with Spinach & Cheese Dip - the dip was Heaven in a bowl! 128077128079

Note: bar tender needs more training. Didn't know how to even make a decent mojito! But the food mentioned above goes really well with beer and/or wine!

Chololo's is a good place to hangout with friends. They have good food and many drinks to choose from. They also have a DJ on some nights.

The place is not crowded and not too noisy that you can still have a decent conversation with your friends. Even though the food is good, I don't recommend this place for family dinners. :)

As long as they don't play hiphop / RnB, it's a good bar to hang out at. :)

Shrimp quesadilla!! I would consider it as an aphrodisiac that one should be required to try upon visitation of cholols!! Never had a bad experience here!! Affordability check!! Food could be categorized under the term comfort!! You're welcome!!

Fried chicken skin, mini tacos and pork belly are some of the deadly "pulutan" we ordered!

A cozy bar with affordable drinks and nice ambiance!

There's usually a dj on the house, so you can request for songs and some people dance! 128539

I actually drive by this area almost everyday. The only places I've catered too were McDo and Hu Yuan who btw has the best Chinese fresh lumpia in the universe (let's save that for a separate review).

But thanks to my bro Matthew, after a basketball game he enticed some of us to have ribs at Chololos near Xavier where we played.

I didn't expect much coz I haven't heard anything about it. But when the island pork belly ribs landed on our table right away it looked really good and juicy. and true enough it tasted superb, really tender "fall off the bone" meat and great marination that penetrated deep into the meat aside from the glaze and the sauce around it. a nice touch was the fried saging saba that surprises you under the ribs. it's the perfect condiment if you wanna avoid rice and have a no-carbs meaty meal.

the last time I had ribs was at racks and that was a bit disappointing. a little dry and they tried to make up with the glaze and sauce. racks' ribs, just or compare, was a 3.

if I just had the ribs at Chololos I'd give the place 5 stars easily. buuut we also ordered the grilled chicken with "red rice", at least that's what they call it. so the chicken was good! not dry, tender & juicy too! I'd give that a 4.5 but the rice OMG. Sayang. Tasted ok but was too mushy and soggy.

we also ordered a spinach dip with nachos. I guess it was my mistake to expect a level of spinach dip like Cibo. boy was I wrong :( it was loaded with watery cream more than the spinach and the chips were like meh. I'd give that dish a 2.5. so you're better off not ordering it.

they have free wifi and the ambiance is bar-like at least at night. lights were a little dim. not your usual family atmosphere. but the food is.

best of all is they're open until 3am Mon-Sun!

I'll definitely be back for the ribs and try the other stuff on the menu.

Apologies for the lousy picture. That is soooo not me :( but we were so hungry when the ribs came and I didn't have time to take a decent pic! plus it was dim so I wasn't so hot on taking a pic with flash anyways.

so all in all, do check this place out if you're in the area :) it's right behind McDo and lotsa parking at the back :)
