Ever since I tried Chopstop in Eastwood Quezon City. I always wanted to go to the nearest branch and have some Bacon Cracklings. This is my favorite in Chopstop. I only eliminate the sauce when ordering the said dish.

ChopStop is not new to me since I've tried it before in SM BF and I liked it. The concept is pretty simple - choose if you want pork or chicken, choose your sauce and sides - DONE! Their meat is of the breaded and deep fried kind. You shouldn't put your expectations high up though coz it's fast food that we're talking about here and their price points are relatively low. A set meal comes with an unlimited serving of rice and a simple soup too. You can add 20Php for your drink.

Got the chance to score some discount vouchers from THE DEAL PROJECT for ChopStop in McKinley Hill. Reich T. and I went and we were surprised with the deal that we got! We thought that each voucher was good for one meal but nah! Each voucher will give you two meals! For 398Php, we got 4 meals. Gosh!

Since there were 4 sauces available we opted to try all - two meals with pork chops and nachos then the other two with chicken chops and mixed veggies.

> Mushroom Gravy

Got this with chicken and nachos as the side. The meat was tender, the breading was thin but the sauce needed more flavor. You wouldn't really taste the "mushroom" in it. It was a little bland too. What I liked though was the crisp from the breading. The side serving of nachos as okay - smothered with tomato based sauce and some salsa.

Pork chop that was smothered with barbecue sauce, this came in with veggies as the side. The meat was tender, thin breading but there was too much sauce. If you are into a hunger game and would want to consume a lot of rice, this is your best bet since the barbecue sauce can act as an extender of your chop.

> Buffalo

We got pork chop for this one too. This was my favorite during the visit. I love buffalo wings! The sourness combined with some sweet notes and the spicy kick - lovely. Chopstop's version was just right - not too sour, not too strong. It went well with the fat trimmings of the pork. It over threw my love for their JD sauce.

> Jack Daniel's

I liked this one when I first tried it. It had just the right combination of sweet and savory. Tried it with chicken chop this time and it was still good.

Overall, it was a great fast food lunch. A meal without iced tea costs 129Php - 1 piece and 179Php - 2 pieces for the Mushroom Gravy and BBQ flavors. Add 10Php more if you opt to get the Buffalo or JD flavor. The Deal Project voucher though will cost you 199Php for two meals, regardless of the flavors you'll choose. You'll save around 50-80 pesos per voucher which is not bad at all!

The dawn of the digital revolution affected the eating habits of every Juan Dela Cruz.  Ever wonder why fastfood chains are always full during lunch hour?  Yuppies want to make the most of their one hour lunch break hence they are continuously looking for something fast,  affordable and delicious.  The competition in the fastfood industry in cutthroat,  the big brands are continuously introducing new products to entice the consumers.

Without further ado,  i present to you the newest kid to grace the fastfood scene.  Drumroll please...Chopstop!

I stumbled upon Chopstop one hot Friday afternoon.  It is way passed lunchtime and i needed to satiate my hunger quick.  I went in,  got a table and checked the menu.

The Chops section  caught my eye.  This is their own take on the combination meals.  What makes it different is that customers can pick the type of protein they prefer in their chops.  Chicken for the pescetarian or good old fashioned pork for the carnivore.  Each set comes with rice,  one side,  soup and a drink of your choice.

Note:  I was sharing lunch with a fellow foodie on this particular visit.  We cant see eye to eye on what to get hence we decided to try all. Yeah,  this is how we roll.

| Mushroom Gravy (Php 129).  We picked fowl for our protein with some crispy nachos on the side.   Perfect proportions of batter and moist chicken fillet.  And yes,  they used white meat!  Perfect for those who are counting calories.  The gravy needs a lil improvement in the taste department as i find it too weak.  A pinch of salt and pepper will do the trick.

| Jack Daniel's (Php 139).  Perfectly cooked chicken coated with JD infused batter.  This is my favorite!  I love the sauce,  a perfet marriage of sweet and savory.

| Buffalo (Php 139).  I try to steer clear away from anything with buffalo sauce as i find the flavor too darn strong for my liking.  This is an exception as they didn't go overboard with the sauce.  The flavor is just right,  you get to taste the meat.

| BBQ (Php 129).  Barbecue infused breaded porkchop with some buttered veggies on the side.   This is equally good too.  Like the other variants,  the meat is cooked well and the breading is not too thick.  One thing that they need to improve on is to lessen the sauce as it tends to get cloying after a couple of bites.

The verdict.

We had a satisfying lunch.  Chopstop delivered in the taste department and the meals they offer didn't burn a hole in my pocket.   If i were to pick between Chopstop and the other fastfood joints,  id pick the former anytime of day.

Chopstop is a breath of fresh air.  A break from the conventional.  The food they offer embodies what fastfood is - quick,  affordable and delicious.
