After buying some stuff from the grocery and the hardware, passed by Chowking and saw an ad / a poster about their Siopao Box.

I was surprised when I saw the price that it would only cost Php125 for a box of 3 Bola-Bolas. I quickly ordered a box because I was in a hurry...and I was super hungry!

I ate all three siopaos in less than 5 minutes before even entering our gate at home. 128514

The bun was super soft! In fact, it was the softest siopao bun that I've tried. The bun was perfect! It makes me wonder how they were able to do that (same thoughts with DOLE's perfect-looking banana, they sell it at Starbucks).

The filling of meat + egg tasted great as well! Not salty nor bland. The meat to filling ratio was also perfect. Hindi sya "sa unang kagat, tinapay kagad!". 🤣

Now if I get asked to pick between Kowloon vs. Chowking, if there was a nearby branch of Chowking, I'd pick their siopos. No questions asked.

Can't wait to try their asado siopao!

QUESTION: is their siopao considered as fast food? 128586

Every time we're sick of our cafeteria food, my work friends and I would visit the mall downstairs and choose from the (limited) dining options available.

Two fridays ago, we decided to eat out at Chowking. Before, I used to almost always get Chow Fan with Fried Dumplings for my sulit meal, and never try anything else. However, there was once when we had field work in Sta. Cruz, Laguna, where we ate at Chowking and I tried a new dish, Chinese Style Pork Chops. AND I FELL IN LOVE WITH IT 128158

Anyway, here's what I got for my meal that day:
✔ CHINESE STYLE FRIED PORK CHOP WITH MEATY WONTON SOUP (Php 129) - 1108811088110881108811088
The pork chops were perfectly golden and crispy, and tasted even better when dipped into their spiced vinegar (you may request for this from the servers! I swear, it will change your life!!!). The egg fried rice was flavorful and not too oily. There is also chicharap on the side! 128525 The wonton soup had two pcs of wonton in it, and the soup was piping hot and comforting. 127858

Since I don't drink softdrinks anymore, I swapped my drink for a small sized Nai Cha (Milk Tea), for just an additional Php 25! 128158 Too bad they didn't have the big straws, so I was not able to enjoy the pearls that much. 128546 But the Nai Cha's taste suited my preference, since it had more tea and less milk. Perfect!

Service was quite slow, especially since it's a Friday, payday, and lunch time. Servers were a bit all over the place and seemed unfocused. But then again, fast food service is rarely exceptional...

For a total of around Php 150, I'd say this is a pretty good and filling meal already. 128158

Pancit looks boring. 128549 Crispy Pork is not too crispy. Everything is too oily including the rice.
