Chowking is one of my choices during weekdays because it’s relatively close to my office and I can get a meal that fit for my budget. I think they are also jumping into the competition of having cheap but delicious meals.

Chinese Style Fried Chicken (Php 85)
this can actually rival those who are serving this type of chicken dish for a long time. Served with fried rice (add Php 10) and unbeatable chicharap.

Lumpiang Shanghai (Php 37)
The Shanghai was very crunchy outside and very soft on the inside. Dipping the Shanghai in the sweet & sour sauce made it more delicious.

Pork Siomai (Php 37)
best eaten when they’re served fresh and hot. It really has a unique taste that sets it apart from other restaurants. I would definitely recommend this to all the Siomai lovers out there.

Halo-halo (Php 62 - Regular)
is like the ultimate summer treat for Filipinos. Ever since I was a kid, I already had memories of Chowking's Halo-halo. Before they had really huge servings and huge scoops of their "halo" on top of the shaved ice drizzled with milk. Now the serving isn't that huge anymore but at least they try to lower the price. Their halo-halo is fine and has lots of milk you don’t even need to mix the toppings and even the ice with milk is sweet. Additional cup of milk is free if you want which i always do. 128517

Another factor which can make me go back to this fast food chain is the fact that less customers are standing around you waiting for you to finish your meal then suddenly grab the table once you have given up the seat.

Got the chance to hang with Piggy Pao and Panda Pao today (til tomorrow and the day after that) 128514

The mom bought 10 Happy Paos because she thought they looked adorable. 128557

Chowking did not disappoint. 128077 The paos look a lot like how they look like in the commercials and they don't taste wrong. (well, at least it didn't taste like how I thought it would: awful) In fact, they were good! Like normal Chowking siopao. I just thought that they'd taste meh because of the fancy artsy cutesy food coloring they put or something. Guess I was wrong! 128513 What's good about it is that even if you steam it over and over again, it still tastes the same and the original consistency remains.

Kudos to Chowking for creating a new look for the usually dull-looking siopao! 128060128055

Oh and btw, Panda Pao is chocolate-filled. Im guessing they used the faux version of Nutella (forgot the name! I think it's the one that comes in a glass container 128514) while the Piggy Pao is asado-filled 128077
