One of my bf's fave stalls at the Trinoma food court... I find it expensive for the taste of the fish and the serving size... Plus I'm not much of a fish person...128513127887

And we're back!127907127831127860

For some reason, my bf loves this place! Parati nya akong niyayaya bumalik, but I'm not really a fish person... So we usually end up eating elsewhere... But he really wanted to go back, so this time pumayag na ako...128513

We were surprised that they were offering a lot more than just fish and chips now... They added burgers and rice combos to their menu... They also added calamari, shrimp pops and chicken nuggets!128077

My bf got the 3pc snapper while I went for the chicken! Warning: NOT CHEAP!!! Just these two set us back almost P500!128561 pretty expensive for a movie snack, wala pang drinks... These come with fries and a dip of your choice- vinegar, garlic and one more I forgot...128540

The batter was very good! It's their claim to fame and it doesn't disappoint... I'm glad they have chicken now...

Nakakainis that they forgot the lemon!127819 I mean, you would expect a lot kasi you are paying a lot... Plus super tagal! Di na namin nabalikan yung lemon then medyo cutting it close pa kami sa movie... As pictured, medyo naka-simangot Na yung bf ko habang nag-hihintay... Disappointing service! Plus, for me, still not a place that I would keep coming back to...128522

P.S. Fish person sounds weird! Mermaid?128516

Me and my brother in law were craving for ice cream and fries...
So after dropping by dairy queen we decided to try chuck's grub...
We tried their fries for 75 and their regular entry with 3pc chicken and fries for 160...

The food was really disappointing!
I wont be back!
Its oily,
The breading is toasted outside then the other half is not cooked at all!!
chicken meat is half cooked!

Fries is less than an inch long served with toasted ones... Topped with oil and so tasteless.

I should have ordered mcDonalds fries instead!

Wont try again!

Thanks for writing about this place last year, EJ D. Found myself wandering Trinoma today and was supposed to go to Le Ching... But they closed na 128557, so went to try this instead. 128556

They did not disappoint. They offer five different white fish--- such as dory, snapper, and their most expensive halibut. I was supposed to order the Four piece Snapper but the lady misunderstood and thought I said halibut. Boy, instead of P260, I spend P350 for four pieces. Wow--- Chuck's Grub doesn't come cheap. Medyo misplaced nga in Trinoma food court (better in Makati, or if in Trinoma, at least sa may Cinema level para convenience is highlighted), but I'm glad I got to try it.

Fish and Chips style like this is so British or (some parts of) North America. But I wanted to try something new. (Was supposed to go Beach House at first.). And so I did. 128518

The halibut has a bit more pungent taste than, say, a dory, but it was good. Love the batter. Well done. Nakabawi naman si Ate sa pagkamali niya. I would have preferred the cheaper snapper, but this would do.

They also serve three dips--- garlic mayo, tartar, and vinegar. Went with the first two (two dips for the four piece)--- couldn't distinguish between the two actually. Garlic Mayo lacked the garlicky taste like that of Charlie's Pritchon or Slammers dips, so it's just average. Fish best works on tartar sauce, of course. The lady sprinkled too much salt on the fries. Ruined it for me. Gawd, what is it with fries and so much salt? 128561128561128561

Loved the lemon slices added. Premium and thoughtfulness done well. Thanks for the reco, Em D and Cee C.

Anyway, a solid 4 stars.

A close friend told me that her brother loves it here so we decided to give it a shot.

I ordered Surf N' Turf (P99). It consisted of one piece of beer battered chicken fillet, one piece dory, plain rice, and dip. Both of them (chicken and fish) tasted really good. The batter was salty but the fish and the chicken were not that's why the combination was perfect. I must admit that I was impressed. It tasted better with a squeeze of lemon and the dip. However, two pieces are not enough. After eating them, you want to buy more...but I didn't. I tried something else from a different restaurant.

Got the Cream Dory... Not being a fan of fish, I don't usually order such... But I got dragged by my bf to their stall para maiba naman daw ang kinakain ko=P good experience naman, not oily, not an overwhelming fishy flavor... If you are a fish fan, this is a good option!=)

Ok so I've been gone a while that looloo felt the need to remind me that I haven't posted a review. Lol

Cee C's right! The one at Trinoma isn't greasy at all! Paired it with their (premium cane, yes I asked) vinegar because creamy sauce is just so wrong on fish and chips, also I'm a purist (eh wala talaga malt vinegar)

As Cee said, you can't tell the fish is fried at the right temp and well. The batter is crisp but slightly chewy (like crispier tempura), but the halibut is moist and cooked through.

Great stop for days when I'm craving for fish and chips, but can't finish fish & co's serving.

I was on a tight budget , my stomach growling. This was a dilemma I had to face the other day while trolling through Trinoma.

After maybe an hour of walking around , I ended up in the food court. Since my stomach was already doing its hunger dance I had to act quickly I was also craving for Fish and Co. But since on a budget decided to try Chucks Grub.

I got myself the Dory (they had several types if fishies available like Snapper etc.) i watched how the lady dunked it in their beer batter and deep fried it. Sprinkled freshly ground pepper and sea salt yum!

I liked how the batter was light and fluffy just like how a beer batter should be. It wasn't oily too meaning it was fried at the right temperature , the fish was soft and moist it wasn't over cooked as you'd expect in deep fried stuff. The fries well tasted like fries I like the way they left the skin on. They had a variety of mayo based dips as well as malt vinegar. Serving size was okay , I think it fits the price.
Down side is I was looking for something to drink they didn't have any the lady said they ran out so that was a bit of a hassle

But all in all I think you guys should try it it's worth every penny 128516128516128536

Wanted something light and was really craving for Fish & Chips so I headed down to the food court for some Chuck's Grub!

Ordered their Dory, 4 pieces of it. It was okay, nothing special or outstanding about it. What I loved about it however was that it wasn't oily. None of those headaches you get for tasting the oil seeping in each bite. Size of the fish pieces are a bit bigger than your 2x2 ID photos.

The beer batter was good, but then the fish kept falling off it which made it pretty tricky to eat.

The chips. Really thick and long cuts of potatoes. Like it was 1 inch thick so you could really taste the potato goodness.

All seasoned with salt and pepper. Meeeh, it had a lack of taste. I wish they would come up with a garlic salt an basil mesh. Something that would give their food a distinct taste. For the tartar sauce, it was kind of bland.

Served pipping hot! Wish they gave bigger or more pieces of lemon, though!

Best bang for your buck fish and chips anywhere! Their fish had a nice and crispy coating with tender flakey meat and a piece is actually bigger than what I expected. An unexpected discovery from a fast food kiosk.

Had to take down 1 star coz one of the pieces I got was raw in the center and the fries were cold. To their credit, they did replace it. And the lemon wedges were so tiny! It's an important detail coz you'll need that zing to tone down the suya factor from too much fried food.

Will get around to trying their other types of fish next time. I'm a cheap ass so I keep on ordering just the Dory, but hey! If I liked the cheapest fish on the menu then the higher grade ones should be better. :)

Because the line was too long at Sizzling Peppersteak, I was forced to look for another place to eat. I was drawn to Grub's which had no queue at all.

I asked for an order of their bestseller and was handed their Beer Battered Goodness in a Cob. I asked for 4 pcs of fish with my chips.

On my 1st piece of fish I thought, "this is pretty good & tasty fish!". I felt the same on my 2nd piece. Come third, I wanted all the fish out of my system. It was good fish but way too tasty to be taken on its own. They should consider serving it with rice. Or maybe I'll dip it in vinegar next time. Or maybe order 2 pieces only.

I saw a review on Chuck's Grub here and I remember it being given 4-5 looloo stars so I decided to try it out.. Thank you again, looloo for another discovery 128518 I got their snapper and chips for PHP 250 which had 4 spam-sized fish fillets. I actually couldn't finish it 'cause I didn't think it'd be THAT huge. I mean it just came from a stall in the mini food court area in Trinoma. #nkklk

Also, unlike other fillets, I didn't experience that "ay-wala-na-lasa-kasi-manipis-na-balat" moment. Each bite was flavorful - no, actually it was salty. And I like salt. Hehe. It also comes with 2 dips (tartar, vinegar, and the other spicy thing) and fries. Fries were great!!! Snapper and chips combined with a can of Coke = so unhealthy yet so so good!

I'm gonna be honest here. What drew me in? Seeing the piece of board with "Buy 1 Take 1" plastered on it. I couldn't resist.

For P150, I got 2 orders of the cobbler and chips. It was pretty good! I liked that they offer the option to have your fish and chips with malt vinegar and not just tartar sauce. I get both anyway... I let the vinegar drizzle down to the fries. Good stuff.

For P150, even without the promo, it's a good deal. Legit fish and chips from this humble little food court stall? I'll definitely be back!

Try their halibut fish and chips. The fish and fries come out crunchy and tasty. Definitely worth a visit.
