Whenever i buy matcha churros from la lola, the churros is always coated. I asked my brother to buy one last night, and instead of the churros being coated with matcha, they gave him matcha dip instead! Did they change how they sell matcha churros? The dip is not good either!

It was either cake or churros with chocolate for dessert. Guess who won?!?!?

Knowing that the churros were really long, I initially wanted just the 6 pieces to be shared among the 4 of us. Hubby was right in getting a dozen instead.

We broke off each piece in half for easier handling and more chocolate action. I couldn't eat them right away as they were really hot. I loved the crunchiness of the sugar coated churros and I made sure to get a generous amount of chocolate. As expected, we kinda made a mess haha. I kept on eating even though I was nursing a cough. It was just too good to pass up. The sticky aftermath in my throat was well worth it.

My dad wanted to try this place, and I was excited when I saw they were offering a mixed combo of all their best-selling flavors. Matcha! White chocolate! Butterscotch! Dark chocolate! Plus the original.

My mom loves matcha so she eagerly bit into that one first. Then she frowned. It was cold. So I asked the server why it was cold. Apparently all their coated churros are cold. Only the original ones are warm and crispy. Umm...

We were extremely disappointed that only the original ones were warm. I'm not blaming the store for our misunderstanding/assumption, but it would have been nice to have been given a warning or some kind of advance notice about the cold churros. Who expects cold churros when you see them frying fresh ones in front of you?

I'd give them 2 stars but like I said, it's not their fault for our wrong assumption.

Wanted to try their Churro Matcha Ice Cream after I saw it from one of the looloo reviews. We were at Cafe Mary Grace when I remembered about the matcha. So I asked the staff first if it's available. No lines on Saturday at 9:30PM. Priced at P145, Credit card payment with no service charge. Then waited and checked how it was prepared. Voila! There goes my Matcha Ice Cream with churros.

My friend tasted the churros and she said it was oily. About the ice cream, I believed this was the authentic matcha with bitter after taste. Glad they added condensed milk for sweetness. Wish the churros were a little sweet 128522 to complement the matcha bitter after taste. I think the price is just ok for the order. Matcha ice cream normally priced at P90 in some Japanese resto.

Free and fast Estancia mall-wide WIFI.

So ticking off this La Lola matcha cravings off my To-Do Foodlist.

2 of these were enough to satisfy my tastebuds. 128154128154128154 shared it with my cousins when I visited them in Pasig.

Accepts credit card payment. Will try Matcha Ice Cream churros on my next visit.

I tried the dulce de leche filled churros. It was good but it wasn't entirely filled with dulce de leche 128555

My ever reliable hungry boyfriend, as usual, shared the same craving of La Lola with me! 10084

For the longest time, since I saw their post on Instagram, I wanted to try out their Bunuelos de Semana Santa (only available till April 15th in lieu of Holy Week). So we went to one of the nearest branches, which was the one in Estancia and ate our hearts away!

Gabe, my boyfriend, wasn't feeling as adventurous and wanted the Classico, so we got the 6 piece of that plus chocolate dip! On the other hand, I was persistent about trying the Bunuelos, which came in 8 pieces an order. Wahaha all that just for the 2 of us! 128055

So the Bunuelos were okay. They were shaped like doughnuts and chewier than the classic ones, covered with cinnamon sugar and much more filling to the stomach! I actually enjoyed the taste but I didn't like that it wasn't freshly made and was room temperature.

I don't regret trying out the Bunuelos but sayang lang cause we couldn't finish both the Classico and Bunuelos we ordered for just the 2 of us... I told myself that we should've just ordered the Classico. Hehe

We also tried out the Cocio, milk chocolate drink. It was okay. I still prefer Chuckie, my chocolate-y buddy tho! 128523

For the leftovers, we just took them to our friend's inuman and toasted them for snacks! Hehe plus made our own homemade chocolate dip with Ghirardelli chocolate 128076

For now, I'm taking a break from La Lola.9996 Medyo saturation point na ako! 128539

Churreria La Lola is really spreading its wings around. Wow. So this was my Stop 3 (Jairus d and Reich T's Stop 5 and Stop 4, respectively 128521) of the Kapitolyo food crawl last Sat. This was where we waited for Ruth D, Raymond P & Clarissa P to arrive.

This is at the corner of the lower ground level of Estancia Mall, Capitol Commons. It's nice that there are more establishments here, and lots more open stores upstairs. This isn't as high traffic a mall as Powerplant or even Aura, hence no queue. Is this a dream? Hehehe.

Anyway, I ordered the Speculoos Xuxos, which is their stuffed Churros. Of course, I wanted to support one of my company's exclusively distributed brands, Lotus Biscoff (the original speculoos), which is used for this. It was good but coming from just eating liquid nitrogen ice cream, I probably shouldn't have. 128552 #diabeticcoma

This would have easily gotten a 4, but -1 for making me wait for about 20 minutes, maybe more. Jai was already halfway through his when I followed my order up. While they justified that they had to make sure their cooking temp was up again, they didn't manage my expectations well. Uh, there were like 7 or more staff there... You couldn't think about updating me? And it wasn't chaotic then. This was also consistent with one experience I had in Aura branch. You've got to announce unforseen things like this, people! Besides, these things do happen every so often, making me believe that they should be better and responsible enough to inform their patrons.

Other than the service, their set up is pretty much like their Powerplant branch, with less people in line and a slightly more spacious area to chill. 128526

Saturday was the designated day for the #kapitolyofoodcrawl with some |ooloo friends. We were supposed to join them for lunch at Lacavore but mommy duties first before tummy duties so hubby Raymond P. and I were able to meet the gang by merienda time. Off to Estancia, we headed to La Lola were Jairus d. , Reich T. , Abe C. and Ruth D. were lounging comfortably. They were done with their snack but graciously allowed us to grab something while they were trying to contact more people.

I was thinking about getting some Churros Classicos because of the not so good Bunuelos experience but their Churro Ice Cream Sandwich got me. I was debating between Dark Chocolate and Matcha because I didn't know if their Matcha ice cream would deliver and dark chocolate is always safe. But then again I gave in to my #matchalove instincts. Hubby got the Vanilla variant.

The Matcha Churro Ice Cream Sandwich was the bomb! It was messy to deal with because the scoop of ice cream was big and I wish they could have made it easier to consume. We needed to ask for utensils so technically it wasn't really a sandwich, yah know. But then again the ice cream was so good - strong kick of matcha in a smooth, thick and creamy ice cream base. It was made sweeter by the sweet milk that it was drizzled with but I'm totally okay with that. I also noticed how good the churro was. It was warm and freshly made. It was just so good. I wished they made it thicker and bigger though.

The Vanilla flavored one was just okay but you know this could be because I tried it after the matcha so it came with no appeal.

Taking 1 star because it took them a long time to serve our orders. We needed to follow-up twice I think.

Our weary feet brought us to Estancia.  We were looking for a coffee shop and proper ventilation.  We decided to wait for Ruth D and Clarissa P at La Lola.

Jai and Abe got some xuxos,  i opted for a Cafe Con Leche.  The coffee is good as expected.  Lola makes a mean cup of joe.  Perfect marriage of coffee and milk,  not too bitter and not too sweet.

We decided to look for a coffee place to chill after our ice cream sesh at The Seventh Element. All of us agreed to look for a place with AC.

Estancia was the pefect location.

We all wanted to check out Craft Coffee Revolution but somehow ended at the tables of Churreria La Lola.

This is just my second time at La Lola. I believe the first time happened in SM Aura. I have tried the original flavor so I opted to try something else. I remember Reich T was raving about their churros with dulce de leche filling so I went with that.

It was perfection! The sticky sweetness of South America's favorite caramel sauce was a melody to the crispiness of churros.

Served hot, I was satisfied.

Abe C's order came late. The server said it had something to do with the machine's temperature? I forgot. It would have been better if proper expectation was set. I didn't hear any comment from Reich so I guess she was pleased with her food.

Ruth D, Clarissa P and Raymond P joined us after an hour. The couple (Clarissa and Raymond, in case you're not aware.) ordered different flavors of ice cream sandwich. Matcha and Vanilla if I'm not mistaken. It was quite messy to eat so both of them had to use utensils.

A few minutes of chit chats and our group left Estancia and headed to Haru for dinner.

A lot of people piles up in SM megamall for this. It was a crazy line that I said to myself, “I gotta try this!”. 128516128516128548128548

Sometime last month, they’ve opened a branch in Estancia, which is super near from my place! So one time that I became hungry after lying around I decided to eat at La Lola! 128513

It’s my lucky day! There’s no line yet! So I hurriedly made my way through the cashier and started to drool off their churros! Haha 128514128514 (parang wrong choice of words hahaha)

I ordered the churros classic (P110 for 6 pieces) plus large hot Belgian chocolate dip. Ohhh the hot Belgian chocolate dip was heaven ahaha…128525128525

Did you know that churros are like vertical donuts? I just learned that too from La lola’s crew hihi. Churros, it was deep fried in olive oil, then afterwards sprinkled with sugar. The finish product was amazing. It was crunchy on the outside and moist on the inside. I had really fun munching it. It was new to me, I can’t explain the crunchiness of it on every bite, hindi sya nakakasawa. You should really eat it while its hot or warm and cover it with the chocolate dip!.

Ohh heavenly treat! Hail to the makers of churros! 128079🏻128079🏻128079🏻

To the Churrreros who kept us entertained while waiting for our churros covered in white chocolate, thank you!

It was really exciting watching them make the oh so yummy churros everyone is going crazy for. 128513 Churrero #1 was the main deep fry guy. Churrero #2 was the masseuse who mixed all the ingredients in for Churrero #1 to put in the churro cutter machine that goes straight to the deep fryer. Churrero #2 dropped this tool that cuts the thick mixture of butter, water and flour (???) on the floor and he literally almost used it again and didn't even bother wiping it! It was a good thing Churrero #1 told him to go back and wash it! 128534 It was like watching a scary scene from a movie. I was so close to knocking the glass with my first and saying "HUY KUYA!!!!!!" #skwammymodeon

It's my first time not getting their Nutella Xuxos and I didn't really regret not getting them this time around. The churros dipped in white chocolate were pretty good. 128539128539128539128539 I ate around 3 in less than an hour and felt really dizzy afterwards lol. #NoRagrets!!!

Can't wait to go back!

Have u tried the best selling churros lately? I have tried la lola for the first time at their first branch at rockwell, I remembered I waited 45 minutes just to taste these churros! But since now they have opened so many branches already, the cravings have lessened for most people since some are already conveniently located near known malls. But if you haven't tried them yet I suggest you should coz these are by far the best I have tasted! I love how their churros are served hot, crisp, and sweet to taste. Even without the chocolate dip it still taste very delicious. One small order of 6 pcs is already good for 2 since if you eat 3 whole pieces you will already be filled. I haven't tried their other churros though, the ones with fillings, maybe next time.

No lines, but we didnt have to wait too long for our orders. Like we had to wait around 10 minutes because there were a lot of orders before us, but it was a treat watching the crew put together the orders anyway. Hehe

I bought the churros with my sister, we treated our parents. Hihi! We got 6/6 mix of White and Classico churros plus an XL chocolate dip with whipped cream. My sister and mom loved them so much, especially the Classico. My sister was so amazed with the dip, my dad not so. Hehe he said he still prefers the classic Dulcinea, but I honestly think he just prefers the chocolate dip of Dulcinea, which is winner. However, La Lola wins for the churro, because Dulcinea's, come to think of it, is pretty bland.

What I'll be coming back for next would be the Nutella Xuxos and I cant wait!!! 128076
