Ah... hello La Lola... What happened to your churros? They're falling apart... into smaller sticks... all of them.

Please sell just one piece and thicker sauces please.

After our COCA dinner, we head straight here for dessert!! Because when there's LA LOLA we have to have Churros!! Matik! It's a must! 128521128149

Our usual order is the 6 pcs classic churros + a dip.

They used to only have the Signature Chocolate Dip but now they have 3 options available -- the Signature Chocolate, Dark and Matcha! 128154 just 60 pesos for the medium. And btw, you can also have whipped cream on the side. 128521

This time, we tried the Matcha and Dark Chocolate dip. The matcha dip was just okay. It was runny and too sweet. Also, the matcha taste wasn't that deep/strong/intense. 128546 However, the dark chocolate dip was good!!!! It was rich and dark. I enjoyed and liked this more than the Matcha dip. 128563 I was raving about it but sadly, when my friends tried it a couple of days after my visit, according to them, the dip wasn't as dark and it was runny and too sweet. Maybe what we had was a lucky batch? 128517

3 stars for now because.. Not consistent. 128529

Attention Matcha friends 128514128514128514

I can't believe it when Reich T told me about the Matcha Dip in La Lola! Warm Churros x Matcha Dip is a matcha dream come true for me! I remembered when I tried their Matcha Churros - the matcha dipped and chilled ones - and wished that they made a dip instead. Now, it's already a reality!

I knew I had to try this right away. I'm more of a warm churro kind of gal so it was a pleasant news when La Lola announced this in their FB and IG pages. Available starting today (Sunday) in all of their branches, I waited patiently to try it coz the line and waiting time was crazy! Took them about 15 minutes to serve my order.

Freshly made, warm churros, deep fried in olive oil and dusted with sugar - I got 6 pieces of their Classic Churros and paired this with their matcha dip that was priced just the same as their signature and dark chocolate dips. Verdict?!? It was good! It was sweet and runny and can get cloying but nonetheless, it was good! It tasted like the trusty KitKat Matcha, only in liquid form. Knocked down 3 churros while walking around SM Aura!

Note: the Matcha dip could have been better if it was a little less sweeter and if it was thicker!

For the love of churros! 128525 Goin loco over la lola. I ordered the classic ones with hot belgian chocolate dip. It was crunchy on the outside and moist on the inside. Fun to eat pero 'nakakaumay.' It was served on a conical boxes with the iconic logos of la lola.

I'm planning to try their varieties next time. 128077

My tolerance for sweetness suddenly increases whenever i am near La Lola -  unexplained phenomenon.  It is an anomaly of sorts.

Anyway,  i braved the rowdy weather to tru their newest creation - butterscotch churros.  I picked the mixed medium size,  white x butterscotch.

It is sweet alright,  tolerable in my standards.  I ate one and got the rest to go.  I can't handle the swetness,  this is the kind that you eat one piece at a time.  Not for binge eating - put that on the record.  I left 'em in the fridge overnight and ate them with a cup of black coffee the day after.  I think i discovered the perfect pairing,  black coffee x butterscotch churros.

I love their churros. The best churros I've ever tasted! It helps that their packaging is cute too! I tried their matcha green tea, white chocolate, classic and chocolate. I recommend their classic with signature chocolate and their chocolate covered churros. :)

MY KIND OF BOUQUET 128144 We ordered Matcha and Clasicos. We waited for the matcha churros to set, for about 15mins an it was all worth it! Omg. Pure Heaven. 128154128154128154 We ordered 12pcs and then we were surprised that they gave us 15pcs. Lol.

Sabi ng pinsan ko baka daw natakot sakin kasi todo bantay ako habang ginagawa yung churros. Hahaha.

It was all good! Mejo pricey kasi parang almost 400 ung churros namin, pero okay lang. Haha

First time I bought my own churros from La Lola. The previous ones were always bought my friends and only had a taste. Ordered the classic 6pcs for Php 110 and dark chocolate dip Php60.

Only finished 3sticks of churros. Didn't like the excessive sugar tho. But loved the dark chocolate dip. Next time I'll try that Ice cream sandwich.

This was my third time trying their churros -- only went to try the Matcha-coated churros. We bought the mixed one with the Classicos so my friend can try it.

My thoughts:

Matcha churros - It was weird for me at first. It was my first time eating a cold churro. I didn't even expected it to be cold in the first place 128514 As for the matcha, I guess only us green tea/matcha-stans will like it. The balance between the sweetness and the bitterness of the matcha is good. As for my friend who is not a fan of matcha, she was okay(?) with it but she didn't liked the bitterness side of it.

Classicos - This was my third time trying the Classicos. As for the taste, I guess it varies per branch? My first try was in SM North Edsa. I like my churros sprinkled with loooots of sugar but their SM Aura branch failed me. I saw some of the reviews online and the outcome of the Classicos served to them was different -- some said theirs was overcooked/too brown. Also, the Classicos in SM Aura are a bit shorter than the ones served to me in Rob Manila and SM North were longer (Yes, I'm greedy for food 128514).

Location - Their branch is really small -- even smaller than the Rob Manila branch so eating your churros there will be hard. Its located just beside the cinemas but I saw a sign in the Director's club that they do not allow outside food/drinks other than the ones that they sell /sigh/

Overall, I like their churros. Everyone should try it, at least. 128077

You know that it is Ramadan month here today and doing food reviews salivates me and making it hard for me to control my hunger.

This crispy, crunchy classic churros covered in dark chocolate is one of the best churros I’ve ever had. I finished all 6 churros alone. No, I was not that hungry because we just finished our dinner in Recovery Food. 128523128523128523

Ever heard of churros? Well if no then you're missing out on one of the best snack/comfort food ever!

La Lola is one of the most talked churreria in town! There churros are deep fried in olive oil which is where it gets it's taste. If you ever come across a long winding line at SM Aura or at Power Plant Mall and you could smell the scent of mouth watering chocolate then you'll know you just stumbled upon one of the most delicious churreria in town, La Lola's Churreria.

There are variety of churros to choose from. You can eat the churro on its own wherein the sugar sprinkled on it compliments the slight saltiness of the churro itself or you can pair it with hot Belgian chocolate ( I definitely recommend pairing it with this because the money and calories you're going to gain are worth it ). Some churros, Xuxos, are stuffed with Nutella, dulce de leche, strawberry jam or peanut butter which is also worth trying. These churros are a bit softer than the Classic churros because they have fillings wherein when you bite it out comes the yummy filling. They also serve Horchata which is a traditional tiger nut drink from Spain. Iced teas and bottled water are also being sold at La Lola's.

At present, La Lola Churreria is branching out into more parts in Manila. Newest branches would probably be the one in MOA and Robinson's Place Ermita. But still my personal fave branch is the one at SM Aura because that's where I tried the churros first. 128522

Definitely a must eat!

"Happiness is ice cream with churros."

When I first saw their poster, I knew I had to try this soon. Churros is good, ice cream is good. But will they still be good together?

We got two orders -- one with matcha ice cream and the other with chocolate ice cream.

They make the churros fresh so we had to wait for a while. Good thing, watching them prepare was fun and enjoying we didn't mind waiting at all. 128518

First served was the chocolate ice cream.. After taking a picture, we tried it right away because the ice cream was already melting (so quick). 128529128528 Tried the ice cream first and hmmm it's not the usual creamy milky ice cream, it's like frozen chocolate drink. Like when you make a chocolate drink then you freeze it then eat it the next day. The texture/consistency was like that. Shaved ice ish? The taste however, was good. Dark chocolate - strong and not too sweet. Since it was already melting, we just "dipped" the churros in it. 128530 Sad that it was too messy to eat. 128529

Then the matcha ice cream.. When served, we were "ahhhhhhhhh, matcha!!! 128154". We love matcha so we were excited to try this. More than the chocolate, I liked this one better. Plus the ice cream didn't melted that fast, as well. This was good! And yes, happiness truly is matcha ice cream + churros!! I looved loved loved the combination. 128525128076🏼

PS: I'm getting the matcha coated churros next time!!! 128513

Reich T sent a photo of La Lola's Matcha Churros in our "FB Chatroom" and the matcha lovers in us went giddy crazy! I was set to go to SM Aura the next day so you know I was all excited to try. Went there all smiles and ordered 6pcs for 245Php - a little expensive. My excitement went to the drain when they told me that it's not available because they don't have Matcha powder! WHAT THE FREAK WAS THAT?!? 128557128557128557 So I asked when it will be available again but sadly, they can't tell 128534

I was desperate so I sent them an IG DM but didn't get a response LOL Mary Love S on the other hand was more aggressive! She texted them and days after, they informed her that it was available already.

Fast forward to weeks after, I finally had my hands on these Matcha Churros. Honestly, I'm not a "chilled churro" fan so I was a little doubtful. 6 pieces and I only ate 2, barely finishing my second. I really don't like my churros cold. I find them not appealing at all. Hard to bite plus hard to chew. But the Matcha Chocolate coating was thick and good. Just the right kick if matcha - not too bitter but it was sweet. Best paired with coffee I guess.

Brought the remaining 4 pcs home, placed them inside the ref and remembered them around midnight. Took them out and decided to pop two into the oven toaster! Three minutes into the heating chamber and tada!!! THE BEST MATCHA CHURROS EVER. I tell you, they're best consumed warm. The melted Matcha Chocolate Coating was gooey, thick and rich. It was sweet but the matcha kick was more evident. I finished all 4 in no time 128563

I wish La Lola would make a Matcha Chocolate dip instead. I bet that'll go well with their classic churros.

Five stars with my hack, 4 stars as they are 128521

Decided to go to SM Aura last night after work to buy shorts for an out-of-town trip this weekend. Haha! So I was walking around then I saw La Lola and I thought... Matcha! I immediately prepared my 245 pesos while I was waiting in line (A little excited actually.) Anyway, upon ordering I was informed that only the White and Classicos were available. 128557

So I ordered a mixed medium order of White-Classicos plus a dip. It was my first time to try the White chocolate covered ones and they were overly sweet for me. Too sweet that I have two out of the three in our ref right now. Lol. I was only able to eat 3 Classicos and One white. Hahaha. I still prefer the Dark covered ones. Giving this one 4/5 because of the White chocolate experience.

Also, it was funny kasi I thought the guy who was giving out the churros was asking for my receipt. Then he started grabbing my buzzer from Brasas and I said, "Ay kuya, that's not yours. See.." (Then I showed him the design. Lol.)

Not really a fan of churros but between popcorn and churros inside the moviehouse, I'd go for the latter.

Or maybe because at that time I was just looking for something sweet after devouring loads of food from the Streetfood Festival. 128513

I like that it's crispy but the dough was too fried that the insides were almost crispy as well. I like my churros crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Kindly like me when I spend the whole day under the sun without sunblock and then drown myself in beer at night. Lol. Just kidding.

I got the original and I liked the choco dip, not too sweet. Perfect for someone like me who's not really keen on counting sugar while chewing the dough. 128513

I'd like to try the other flavours next time. 128522
