Great place to chill, read a good book and eat italian food. I personally love italian food (salad, pasta, pizza, bread, name it!) so today I decided to come here at 4pm via my reservation at eatigo (so I got a 50% discount on my order 128521) Food was great! I got the farfalle alla genovese (vegetarian pasta) because I'm a vegetarian. This pasta has mushroom, basil, cream, pesto (basically everything I love in one dish!) Speaking of vegetarian, their menu is vegan/vegetarian/pescetarian friendly as they have separate lists for meat, fish, and veggie dishes.

I will be coming here more often now after my Yoga classes in Yoga Tree Manila at the Eastwood Mall. Just one order of pasta really filled me up after a very tiring bikram yoga session of more than 2 hours. Families come here often but I think it's a good place to just grab a bite or if you feel like eating healthy whether for a change, or you're just on a diet regardless if you're alone or you're with a friend or special someone.

PS. They have an ongoing promo right now extended until the end of Sept 2017, where you can add another dish for just P20 pesos if you order one of their Top 20 bestsellers. Enjoy! 128522 #loolooDroneGiveaway

I put my dog's pic in here because i loved how much Cibo (and Eastwood itself) welcomed us; doesn't happen all the time 128530

Cibo servers catered not just to me but also to my dog 128054128525 i asked for water for her (since I brought her food) and they gave her one. They're so nice, I can't!

I got the ribbon pasta pesto with mushrooms 128523128523128523 and fresh lemonade.

Cibo is one of the you-cannot-go-wrong restaurants in Manila. I have never ordered anything from this place that I didn’t like as every single dish offered by this restaurant has been well thought of and beautifully executed. And it is not surprising given that this is the brainchild of Asia’s Best Female Chef of 2016, Margarita Fores. But given the number of new restaurants here and there, I tend to forget this well-loved restaurant till R’s family decided to have dinner there one Sunday.

Hello, Cibo!

It was my first time to visit its Eastwood branch and it was packed! We had to wait for 10 minutes or so before we got a table to fit our party of 8.

R’s sister had everything planned out and ordered a few dishes for sharing such as Patatine (PHP165, medium | PHP295, large), Spinaci Zola (PHP270), Tartufata (PHP395) and Penne al Telefono (PHP375 | PHP660, La Famiglia). R and I were not very hungry when we went so we decided to share one order of Grilled Tenderloin, an off the menu dish. For drinks, we both went with Pomelo Shake (PHP150).

First served were two orders of Patatine, Cibo’s famous thin potato chips with garlic mayonnaise dip. It was funny how all the guys thought that these were complimentary wait baskets. Well, these delightful treats weren’t but definitely worth the price. Crispy and well seasoned, it was perfection!

Spinaci Zola is yet another famous appetizer of Cibo. I have always been a fan of spinach and gorgonzola combination and Cibo puts those two together like a spinach dip master! I just wish that there are free crostini refills.

Soon, our drinks were served and R who never had Cibo’s bestselling Pomelo Shake was delighted by the refreshing drink. Sweet, light with a bit of tangy kick. *insert hearts here*

A huge plate of Penne al Telefono was served after and we all loved how al dente the ginormous penne pieces were. Despite its pale color, this pasta dish was packed with flavor. It was tangy and cheesy at the same time tickling my tastebuds and making it yearn for more.

It wasn’t a long wait till our steak was served.

Grilled medium rare, one could still see some blood oozing out of the thick slice of meat which was sitting on a bed of mushroom cream sauce and asparagus. There were also some sautéed mushrooms on the side for additional flavor and texture.

The verdict? It was pretty good. The steak was succulent and well seasoned but it tasted a lot better with the cream sauce. There were just some parts which were oddly dry.

I last sampled the Tartufata pizza which looked healthy to me. Given that Tartufata is a flat pizza topped with mozzarella, mushroom-truffle paste, sautéed mushrooms and asparagus, I expected it to be a bland dish. I was surprised though that it was good too. The light flavors played well together and were further enhanced by the truffle paste. The asparagus and sliced mushrooms added a bit of bite to the dish.

Overall, it was a scrumptious dinner. I just didn’t like the open space as it made the ambiance too chaotic and noisy.

Cibo does pasta right!

Tonight we had the farfalle ala veneziana - al dente ribbon pasta with seafood and cream sauce. Their sauce flavours are a little muted especially for the filipino taste, but thats how its supposed to be. Good pasta doesnt have overwhelming flavours and a lot in them really.

Love that our pasta serving was upgraded from solo to familia because we play pokemon go 128517 all you have to do is show them that you have any one of the starting pokemon.

We also had the chips with garlic mayo. Great as a starter or even a snack.

Good quality food and great service at their eastwood branch 128522

Rigatoni al'alfonso is always a hit. But what made this visit just okay was their "best seller" a Praga. It was a whole wheat sandwich with smoked ham and Gruyére cheese and mushrooms. Such a sad tasting sandwich, so bland, so plain. Will never ever order this again. Will just stick to my pasta next time.

Chips.  Chips and more Chips.  What sort of witchcraft have you done to me,  Cibo?

CMA decided to grab a quick bite at Cibo before we watch a movie.  We got chips and the beef thingy soaked in olive oil (too lazy to check the menu)

The chips is divine.  Paper thin,  crispy and extremely addicting!  I finished one serving in a matter of minutes.  The beef on the other hand is sumptuous.  The meat is fall-off-the-bone tender and the olive oil/balsamic vinegar thingy elevates the flavor to the nth power.

I will try some of their pasta dishes soon.

Sunday dinner with family spinach dip is always good start i love this food the dip is perfect for any bread. Vegetable soup minestrone have a good taste combination of diff vegetable but bit oily for a soup. Salad Insa pacifica with the vinaigrette is good. Penne all amado have that good beef taste and the sauce is lovely. And to cap it of the milk shake is perfect for the dessert and to equalize the taste in my mouth. Until the next time Cibo.

Ordered: Spinaci Zola, Rigatoni All' Alfonso, Penne Al Telefono and Mint Iced Tea.

Food: Everything tasted great and has just the right portion to fill you up. I've been an Alfonso lover rather than the Telefono (where almost all my friends are big fans of) but both are equally delicious!

Service: Excellent! Waiters were attentive and courteous.

Price: Good. Food was worth the price.

***Got too hungry to take a picture of the pastas

Except for the spinaci zola which I like, food here is not fun. Sounds sophisticated but tastes boring.

I love Cibo. If I could eat their penne al telefono (tomatoes, basil, goat cheese) pasta and spinaci zola (gorgonzola, spinach, Melba toast) dip forever, I would. But the prices are really exorbitant 128518 Each pasta costs almost P400 and they aren't really that generous in their servings. I wish they'd add just a little more basil or a little more goat cheese to make up for the price. Sad because there are some really great Italian restaurants (ie Cafe Puccini etc) that serve dishes at the same price but with much more generous servings and fresher ingredients. However, ridiculous price points aside, I will still keep coming back to this place even if it renders me bankrupt 128513 #LowEQ Their penne al telefono is just too good even if I wish it had more sauce. (Pro tip: ask for chili flakes and sprinkle them all over the pasta to make up for the lack of sauce. So good.)

I love all their soup and pasta. I'm not a fan of pizza but theirs is also quite good. Try their squash soup and their tomato and basil pasta. Their pesto is also good. Oh and on the top of my list is their potato chips and iced tea 10084

Cibo is a household name when it comes to Italian Cuisine.  They have been around for quite sometime and have branches in key cities.

I was never interested with Cibo,  dunno why,  i know that they serve good food (longevity in the restaurant business and number of branches) but this joint never piqued my interest.  I've dined at Cibo a couple of months back.  And you know what's odd, i didn't try any of their pasta dishes (Hecklers, you're on.... Boooooo!)

Saturday night.  I coerced him to go to Eastwood.  I wanted to try Milkcow and Cheesecakes by Guy.  He said yes without hesitation.  Whilst walking around the mall,  he said he wanted to dine at Cibo.  I didn't object,  we sat down and i checked their menu.  Man,  they sell a lot of hard to pronounce Italian dishes,  the menu is friggin extensive.  I told him to order something light as we were not that hungry.

Note:  I dunno the name the dish.  I hope the photo will suffice.

Beef thingy.  Think of bistek minus the soy sauce.   I dunno how the beef is cooked but it is weally tender and bursting with flavors.  And i like the fact that they used olive oil.  This is best paired with sourdough bread and a glass of red.

Potato Chips Cibo Style.  I made that up 128522.  This is the best chips I've ever tasted.  Crispy,  light and not too salty and served with mayonnaise thingy on the side.  I can finish this in one seating,  it is sooo friggin good.

I was satisfied with my first Cibo experience.   I'll try one of their pasta dishes soon.  I have this feeling that i won't be disappointed.

This is my comfort food place. I LOVE their pasta and chips.

I had the farfalle ala genovese (pesto cream and mushrooms) and spaghettini ala veneziana (seafood and cream). Both had excellent flavours and al dente pasta.

Happy 18th birthday cibo! 128151

Food was great, as usual. 128517
Found a strand of hair on my pasta... But the staff quickly replaced it. It was yummy, so I still enjoyed it even so.
Service staff could be more alert though. I'm not sure if they're undermanned or what.

Although we always get their proscuitto pizza, this time we decided to reward ourselves and get the priciest one which was the porchetta pizza P480. It was so different from any other kind of pizza I tried! First it had chicharon on top, yummy porchetta strips, spinach and cheese. No tomato sauce. Was nicer with chili oil too.

As always, cibo service is efficient, logical and fast. Which makes their prices absolutely worth it.

Instead of the usual pizza we tried the calzone version of their proscuitto Parma and it was just as yum! Tried their ribbon pasta with pesto and mushroom but it was just alright. Still preferred their spaghetti with truffle sauce. My favorite part of the meal was their P210 tomato soup which was soooo good! It had whole crushed tomatoes and garlic which made it flavorful and even good for sharing (eating it by myself would've filled me up already haha). Cibo never disappoints and their quality of service is on par with their high standards of food.
