My partner has been telling me about her new favorite pasta which she discovered during her date with her sister, ferisb L. Yes, i know you're wondering what's her favorite before this - it's the Vongole (clam pasta) from Mary Grace. 128516

Today, i finally decided to give it a try and now i get it why she's been boasting about this new discovery of hers. It's funny because even if she liked it so much she can't remember what it's called but, she has a picture which we showed the server.

Her newly found favorite is called RIGATONI ALL'ALFONSO (as written on the menu). Rigatoni are a form of tube-shaped pasta of varying lengths and diameters. They are larger than penne and ziti, and sometimes slightly curved, though nowhere near as curved as elbow macaroni (thanks to Wikipedia) 🤗 It was my first time eating and seeing a rigatoni so I researched a little. The dish is made up of shrimps, chives, stewed tomato, cream and chili peppers. You pay Php385 for a single serving and Php670 for sharing.

We ordered the one good for sharing and had them split it into two. When I first looked at it, I thought is was not much but I ended up getting really full and didn't even finish everything. The noodles are really cooked well (al dente as they say). The flavor of the sauce is not too overpowering, very balanced.

We were suppose to order our favorite dip but the server inspired us to try something else for a change, so we did. We had the FUNGHI.PRAGA (mushrooms and cooked smoked ham) for Php240. It's good too, but the SPINACHI.ZOLA (spinach and gorgonzola) is still our best.

*Whew! Seems like this is my longest review ever so this is it for now. 128539

Who's not a fan of Cibo anyway? If you really want authentic Italian pasta, Cibo comes in handy with their gourmet dishes.

Start up with the favorite Patatine fritte.maionese - salted chips with garlic mayo as dip. Never fails to excite while waiting for the main course. Then your usual dose of Crema di Zucca. Pancetta - thick and flavorful pumpkin soup.

Wanted oil-based pasta so I opted for Linguine alla Nettuno - linguine pasta in basil pesto with sauteed seafood in garlic. Always a nice choice for light savory pasta. Cibo serves perfectly cooked pasta that really imbibes Italian cuisine taste.

My friend ordered Rigatoni All'alfonso which I tasted for the first time and it was delicioso! It was cream based however I forgot what's in it but the taste was rich and very Italian. I think that would be my on my order list next time!

A little too dim for me. But still loving the interiors. And of course, italian food will always be my fave. Haha. I think im too biased for these types of restos.

Had a really late lunch with one of my girlfriends from work today. We decided to eat at Cibo, since we wanted pasta.

We ordered their Patatine Fritte (potato chips with garlic mayonnaise) for starters. For Php 180, the serving was a lot for the two of us. The chips were crisp and weren't oily. I also love the dip cause it wasn't too garlicky. It was just right.

My friend had Spaghettini Alla Bolognese (Php280) and Ripe Mango shake (Php130). She loved it and she thought that the serving would be little, but it wasn't. So, she said it was worth it.

I had their Farfalle alla Veneziana (Php290), which was sauteed seafood and cream sauce. I loved their lemonade, too! But since my body was still rejecting food, I wasn't able to finish my meal. The sauce wasn't too creamy and wasn't thick. The seafood wasn't salty. The pasta was a little bit gummy, though, so it was kind of hard to chew. But, I love the combination of all the flavors!

The staff were friendly and attentive. Plus, we didn't have to wait for too long to get our food. The only thing I hate is that the place is really, really hot. I hope they work on it.

Quick dinner date with love for our 47th month. I love both their pasta and salad. Though we were not able to have pizza because they ran out of some ingredients or something, this is still quite an experience. Will definitely come back for that pizza :)

So it's that time of the year when us corporate slaves are allowed to splurge on food. Most of the restos in Gateway are fully booked so we decided to dine at Cibo. This is a group dinner and everyone ordered their own servings. I ordered the Lasagna Classico for two things: The picture of it outside just looks so damn delicious and I'm so hungry.

Service- 128078 The menu is in Italian and we are not familiar with the words and our server did not bother explaining it to us. There was one instance that food was incorrectly served. We coudn't react since we forgot our orders ourselves.

Food- 128078 My lasagna is OK, but salty. I cleaned my plate nicely not because it was good, but because ai was hungry. The pizza we ordered was blah. The crust is tough and I ended up with a sore tooth (extra ouch since I have braces). The only redeeming factor was my cantaloupe shake.

Price- 128078 too expensive for the serving and the quality.

Overall, I think I'm not the only one with this disatisfaction. A friend hardly touched his seafood pasta (strong fishy taste), another had his pasta dry, etc.

Cibo has been around for quite sometime. I usually order this penne pasta. Although it tastes good, I actually find it quite uninspired. This feeling doesn’t just apply to what I ordered, but their aging menu in general. They have got to update their menu and add something new and exciting to their line up. Part of having a restaurant is to continuously innovate and excite its customers. I see Cibo as a classy but homey Italian brand that can still go strong for another 10 years plus. All it needs is a little splash of new “color”.

Had dinner with the family..but the Prosciutto di Parma dissapointed me. Unlike before, there's less Prosciutto on the pizza and it tasted like Parmigiano already 128532

My friend Tisha F and I decided to have pasta for a late merienda/ early dinner yesterday. She recommended me to try Cibo, she said their pastas were great, though pricey but worthy :) i said ok and so we headed up to cibo. :)
i wasnt that comfy at their place bcos its a bit dark and warm. Maybe its bcos of their a/c wasnt in full blast. Their service was great. They have friendly staffs and servers.
Upon checking their menu, i was confused seeing unfamiliar dishes. Haha. I cant decide to what pasta am i going to get. The waiter confidently asked me if what kind of food do i like to eat at that moment, and i said i want to have pasta, and i asked him back if what could he recommend me, what are their bestsellers. He said, their Lasagna Classico is a must-try :) and so i took his advice and ordered it, it was creamy and cheezy. and as for my drink, he strongly recommended the Watermelon fresh juice. (He said its his fave) and so i told him to get me one. the w-melon didnt failed me, it is surprisingly good :) On the other hand, i cant barely remember what pasta my friend ordered (bcos she said it in a diff language). Both pastas the we ordered tasted good :) its really worth it :)
we also ordered a cheese pizza. This by far is disappointing. Its not cheezy at all, and its tough and hard to chew (rubbery/ makunat) gaaahd. Hate it.
So my verdict was, over all, it was ok :) i will be back soon to try their other pastas and their appetizers :)

If I want to have pasta, I always visit Cibo. This branch has a great veranda view. The waiters are nice and friendly too!

My favorite pasta is spaghetti all Alfonso. You should try their lamb meal with rice. It's good too! Lemon iced tea 128077 - I always order this every single time I'm here. 128515

This is my second Cibo visit here in Gateway Mall. I have been avoiding the place for years ever since their bland food disappointed me. I must admit though, I've been fantasizing about having that gigantic clock of theirs.

Ordered the spaghetti ala romana (I mean, who can ever go wrong with spaghetti ala romana?). It wasn't bland, that's for sure. Pasta was a bit dry. The oil tried in vain to salvage the texture... it didn't really succeed.

The panini with sausage, cheese and yellow bell pepper was fairly tasty. Again, I feared dry food. Sausage was flavorful and the cheese lent moisture to each bite, countering the dry panini. It came with a small siding of chips and crushed rock salt.

Got a red grape cocktail in crushed ice. Good enough to smoothen the edges.

Cibo's a nice enough escape from crowded, noisy restaurants here in Gateway. Don't expect stellar Italian dishes though. But that ginormous clock is still calling out to me.
