Clark International Airport Second Bad Experience!

What an experience and I could say we were really lucky! My family and I booked tickets from Jetstar Asia to Singapore last November 2017. We fly out from Clark International Airport at an early hour, so we stayed at my uncle's in Angeles the night prior.

We already had a bad experience at Clark International Airport once before when we went to Hong Kong (Read my blog post about the Hong Kong trip on my blog.) The immigration staff are strict and sort of corrupt. Last time, my friend almost got detained 10 minutes prior to our flight because it was his first time to travel abroad. He had to show his credit card and online bank account to the immigration staff where they drag him to room to interview him. They then said that he was "rich" anyway and let him off.

This time, I was the one who was almost detained. They asked what my job was, and asked for a company ID. Well we didn't have a company ID since it was just a small family run business. Next time I would make one though. So the guy at the immigration would not let me pass even if I have prior travels on my passport. I asked him why and he said my last travel was over a year ago. Then I asked him why is he making it hard for his fellow Filipinos, and he still refused to let me pass. I then told him I was an author and if I could show him proof that I am, would he let me. So I did, and he let me through telling me he was only doing his job.

I seriously think that they should not be strict when letting their countrymen out of the Philippines, but it should be foreigners coming in they should worry about. Especially those carrying drugs and other illegal items. Let the other countries' immigration worry about us getting into their country and going TNT, because damn well they would let us through!

So that's it. This is just a rant blog which I didn't wanna make, but as soon as I started typing, well... All the words just came flying out!

It's an international airport but still has its provincial feel to it. It's efficient and serves the north very well :)

The airfare from Clark- HK is cheaper than MNL-HK. This airport is less crowded too compared to NAIA.

Travel from Manila to Hong Kong to Manila via this airport because the airfare is cheaper but we have to travel from Manila to Clark airport. Not so wise...

I can still remember when I first travel here it was so crowded and the number of seats aren't enough and the people was seating on the floor. But now Yay! I super love the renovated airport!!! Better than NAIA's domestic one!128517 BTW I got a free fan and now I'm advertising the 20th hot air balloon festival this week!

It was a disappointment when we travelled last december 2013 with my kids and hubby from Clark -Hong kong- Clark they have new building and newer gates to accommodate passengers but it was close during that time.

The food kiosk are minimal. Toilets are not clean. The place is boring fir waiting passengers with kids.

This is probably the scariest trip going to an airport that I have ever been! My trip was around 5am going to Hong Kong so we were on our way there at around past 12mn. The airport looked isolated at night as it was surrounded by a forest with roads - no lights! It felt like we were in an urban horror movie. We were actually getting paranoid that any moment robbers might stop our car for an ambush. Airport was small, very warm and disorganized. It's an embarrassing airport honestly.

Last time i flew from DMIA was in 2010 and i did NOT have a good experience. The immigration officers were too nosy, somehow impolite, and were lazy to do their jobs. Plus the facilities were b-a-d.

Last week however, we flew to HK from DMIA and im surprised to see that the airport had undergone renovations, and its now tourist-friendly and very bright. The signs were prominent and it was easy to go to point a to b to c to d.

Moreover, the immigration and security officers we encountered (smart ren forgot he had a swiss army knife in his manpurse) were all very professional while being compromising. They were accommodating and nice while following protocol. We ended up leaving the army knife with mama's driver outside the airport which really wasnt a big deal since it was ren who mistakenly brought it in the terminal.

Overall, a pretty decent airport -- way better than naia 1 since the facilities and concessionaires were topnotch. If you have the option of flying via DMIA, take a change and you wont regret it9992

Its neat and organize not really that big on actual. Been there twice, back and fort. My first time there, I was really nervous. This airport have some really bad reputation on the internet when it comes to the immigration. I heard a lot of bad news then, specially for first time traveling abroad. I read that they ask a lot of stuff. I even practice myself on how to answer possible questions. On the actual day, its really not that much as of what I heard, the immigration officer was nice to me. They don't even bother asking if I'm a govnt employee which happen to be true. But since it was my first time, I voluntarily show my travel certification from my boss. I guess i was really lucky they did not ask much about my job. It was my friend who got held back. She have some issue since she doesn't have a permanent job at that time and only have a saved money for the trip. They interviewed me since Im going to travel with her and ask some stuff afterward we got the clearance to board.

before anything else, ang init sa airport na to. The people in charge are a little confused about the process so we were passed on from one counter to another.

Sayang tong airport na to. It has a long take-off/landing runway. Hope government officials will maximize DMIA's capability because heavy traffic in NAIA is unbearable. Huge aircrafts can land hear. Like A380 128516128516128516.

Anyways.. Ready for take off, see you bangkok!

It was a crazy mess! Good thing the flight was only half full so less people clearing immigration. No signs to let people know which queue to take for international passport holders vs local residents.

Baggage pick-up was a breeze, customs clearance a bit annoying even if you already indicated "nothing to declare" and last checkpoint was the validation that you picked the right bags.

Availed of BPI's 75% off promo for a roundtrip fare to HK with my hubby and parents. There is also an option to pay in 3 monthly installments.

The airport is currently undergoing expansion and terminal fees have increased from P450 to P550. Ground floor gates 1-2 look really sad but the upper ground gates 3-4 look a whole lot better. Not too sure how this was designed.
