My team surprised me with roses & Nono's Chocolate Oblivion cake from Classic Confections during my birthday9786127881128149127801 It was my first time to try this cake & I loved it. I bet all chocolate lovers would love it too!127851127851127851

Cake's description: Two layers of chocolate cake, filled and iced with whipped chocolate cream, finished off with walnuts, praline bits and cocoa powder. Really yum!128539128077🏻127851127851127851

Last time that I was in Classic Confections, like years ago, I wasn't so happy with the chocolate cupcake that I tried. Then I got a lot of reco from |ooloo friends to try their Chocolate Oblivion instead. Years after I got to pay them another visit. Low EQ days call for sinful indulgence and I though this would be perfect.

Nono's Chocolate Oblivion - I got the mini cake version. The cake looked really good - dusted with chocolate powder, covered with walnut praline. No choice but to dug right in even though it looked nice, I needed to find out if it was worth it. Oh...it was! What took me so long to try this? I was transported to ultimate chocolate sweetness heaven! Four alternating layers of chocolate cake and chocolate whipped cream, it was chocolaty and sweet, light and absolutely good! This can get cloying for those who doesn't like very sweet desserts because the walnut praline it's wrapped with is thick and really sweet. Must say that it's one of the best desserts out there. It's a great pair for coffee by the way. Iced or hot, it'll do just fine.

Classic Confections is one of those places in Greenbelt that doesn't get noisy or chaotic. Not so many people visit at one time so you're guaranteed peace and quiet when you visit. It's as if you're in a library and mostly old people visit to get a cup of coffee or tea.

They also sell Russian Cookies, brownies, food for the gods, lemon squares, cupcakes, revel bars and more! Kids will go crazy here because they have a wide selection of sugar cookies with cutesy designs!

Classic Confections is one of my college barkada's favorite dessert places during our Makati days... I haven't been back in years, but the quality of their desserts earned them awards during their hay day...

Coffee Bean has recently picked up Nono's Chocolate Oblivion as one of their cakes for the holidays... It's one of CC's bestsellers and was voted as one of Manila's Best desserts way back then... But I had to give it a try and I eagerly ordered one (paired with their Moroccan Mint Tea Latte) last week...

Imagine two layers of dark chocolate cake with a layer of whipped dark chocolate in between... It had a light dusting of choclate powder on top and surrounded by a walnut praline on the side... The walnut praline tasted a bit like toffee, adding a bit of added sweetness and crunch to this cake... It tasted as good as I remembered! I can't eat the whole slice by myself, umay will definitely kick in... But I enjoyed this blast from the past!128525

A friend gave me a slice of one of their best-selling cakes for my birthday, and that's the Nono's Chocolate Oblivion. The cake is moist and feels like a burst of flavors in your mouth! Chocolate heaven it is!!! Each layer is a treat! It's filled with pure chocolate goodness and cocoa powder that makes the chocolate experience soooo awesome!!! 128077🏼

I also shared it with sister and she liked it too. No 'umay' factor! Will surely get the whole cake soon for my family! 128076🏼

Took home some mocha sans rival, didn't care how much butter was in this thing that my doctor would've killed me. I needed the comfort and the butter! Service was great! Kinda pricey at P250 but i knew that going in the store. The cake was too crumbly for me, i wanted to ask my neighbors if they wanted the rest but it's hard to do that when you don't know your neighbors.

Best stick to nono's! Guaranteed to be worth your money!

This was Kirby G's birthday cake. (Thanks Jennifer N!!128521)

It's one of their most popular cakes. Nono's Chocolate Oblivion has layers of chocolate cake, filled with chocolate cream and topped with cocoa powder and praline bits. It was good but a lil too sweet for me. I can finish only half a slice. 128517 I guess it's best served chilled because the cake crumbles once you slice through it.

Twas my first time to try it but they said it tasted way better before. 128533

It's a birthday surprise kind of night for Kirby G and one of the main attractions on the table was the Chocolate Oblivion by Classic Confections. Jennifer N bought the cake for us to share! 128077🏼

The cake was chewy and very sweet. It was a bit cloying the more you eat it, but surely you can't resist having more if it because of its taste. I actually thought it was a chocolate rice cake or biko cake, maybe due to its soft texture. It was actually worth the calories because it's really really good! 128517

If you're looking for a perfect birthday cake surprise, this could be one of the best cakes you can have for the sweet occasion!

glad to have found a place that serves vanilla cupcakes topped with chocolate buttercream. It's always chocolate on chocolate. This one I got was 60 pesos each but 50% off that day so I got 2 pieces for P60! Not to sweet. Could be more moist in my opinion but for the price, i am not complaining. Craving satisfied!

Nono's chocolate oblivion is also really good! One of my fave chocolate cakes in the metro.

Banana Cream Pie still wins! Tried their Red Velvet Cake and I didn't like it very much. Too much icing and the cake itself didn't taste good. I still gave them 5 stars cause that's how much I love their Banana Cream Pie :)

Starting from left, clockwise:
Banana Cream Pie: good cream, good banana, tough pie crust
Lemon Torte: good cream (same as Banana Cream Pie), chewy torte, lemon NOT!, over-all: this was supposed to clean the palate but instead I found it cloyingly sweet
Red Velvet: good cream icing, moist velvet cake
Nono's Chocolate Oblivion: choco filling was excellent - reminded me of three musketeers, side crust was ok but over-all, can be a bit too much

Price: expensive
Taste: maybe when I'm really hungry, it will be worth the calories
Service: excellent -- My mom adored their almond crunch and when they found out na nabitin sya one time she bought it, they gave her a complimentary serving!
