A fine dining experience in the heart of Davao. I have tried Fine De Claire oyster since I'm an oyster addict. It was not that fresh but still in a proper condition to be appreciated. Totally digging the interior. A must visit kinda place. A little pricey though but don't forget to communicate with the owner, he's there often I guess. He can explain everything you want to ask anything related to his restaurant and might add a positive vibe on your experience.

I always wanted to eat at this place but never had the chance to do so. And so when I was strolling around Rizal street alone, I then decided to try this French restaurant. Upon going up the stairs you are being welcomed by a certain feeling of nostalgia because in their receiving area there are alot of collections of antique things that are very well-maintained such us old sewing machine, wine, rum and all sort of expensive old bottles, Capiz Shells hanging as a Chandelier and old pictures on the wall. You'll have to see it for yourself and I assure you'll get the same feeling that you're being brought back into a certain old time.

While waiting for my main course they've served this tasty toasted French Baguette with Light Butter and Bruschetta as an Appetizer as compliments to their guests.

Then I ordered "Linguini Arabiata" as my main course it's a vegan pasta with fresh tomatoes sautéed in olive oil and hot chilli peppers and fresh basil on top. It took them a while to serve it though I wasn't in a hurry and was enjoying the ambiance of the place.

Finally for Dessert, Crépe Suzette; Crépe in a sauce of caramelized sugar and butter, Sake, Mangoes and Vanilla Ice Cream on top. The Sake has a very strong taste that compliments with the Crepe and other flavors.

When you are in Davao please do drop by and try out their mouth-watering food choices.

This is our last stop before going back to Manila and... BOY IT WAS WELL WORTH IT! This French restaurant is actually the Oboza ancestral house, which is owned by a very friendly French guy. We have a 1 year old kid with us which is cool because the French owner's granddaughter is there as well and her babysitter and the other crew took him and fed him (for free!) so that we can eat! The interior is really nice, with paintings on all white walls. The food: HEAVEN. We arrived there around lunchtime and they have a Business Lunch promo which includes a salad buffet along your main dish: prime rib, grilled pork chops, or chicken or fish, for only P500. At first you may think it's steep but it was worth more than what you pay for. Everything tastes so well and prepared such that if you're not hungry, you will be. :) Claude (the owner) visits every table and checks with his customers if they like the food, if they need anything else, and done so in a very warm vibe.

I had the prime rib in pepper sauce, cooked medium done, served with mashed potatoes and sauteét vegetables. My friends had pork chops (2 pcs) in a creamy mushroom gravy. Every bite makes you smile.

We only have 5 stars right? Can we have 2 more for this? That good :)

When in davao, try claude's. Its one of city's leading french restos. Its located on the cultural district of downtown davao. In fact, the resto is housed in an ancestral home converted into a fine dining place. Its a bit intimidating at first - ambient lighting, formal dress code - but when the roving serenade picks your table, you get to love the place even more. Food is great! May set you back around 1k to 1.5k per person. Wine selection is good, you guessed it, the labels are dominated by french chateaus. Once in a while, its nice to look back and celebrate with good food such as claude's :)
