From Puregold in Oliveroz St (near Antipolo Church), I asked a tricycle driver standing there about the jeepneys that routes through Sumulong highway. He pointed me just across the street. There are jeepneys waiting across a gasoline station across puregold.

I sat behind the driver and asked him to stop in Cloud 9. In few minutes (no heavy traffic, praise), the driver said we’ve arrived. It’s awkward because I need to walk through the long jeep and every passenger looks at me like they’re saying, “mag-isa lang si ate… ang loner naman niya”. Huhu.

What welcomed me when I descended the jeepney is a steep road going up. Wow, a sudden hike... I wasn’t informed. The ‘hike” continued until I reached the base of the hanging bridge. Beh, kapagod. Good thing I wore comfortable clothes.

I needed to pay fifty pesos in the information desk and showed the receipt to the guard as he said, “Mag-isa ka lang, hija?” How many times do people need to ask me if I’m alone? As if I can’t do something on my own. But it’s okay. Just show the people that a company is not necessary to enjoy the simple steps we need to take… oh wait, that hanging bridge doesn’t need “simple steps”, it needs “brave steps”. Oh help.

At first I thought, “tsssss, I can conquer this alone. Malakas kaya ako?” I’ve hiked Pico de Loro and this should be a piece of cake. But I was wrong. Upon reaching the middle, I felt the bridge swinging every step I make. Left, right, left, right. I finished 70% of the bridge and my blood pressure is rising. My palms started to get wet and numb, while my legs are shaking. I’m the only one on the bridge, so if an accident happened, I’ll be the only fatality. Oh no.

Reaching almost the end of the hanging bridge, it becomes steeper, but I knew I’m almost there—there’s no reason to back out.

I finished the course!!! Alone! Thank God, I’m alive.

I saw a 360-degree view of Manila—smoggy, but still beautiful. I’m literally high enough to appreciate that even half of the city view is being eaten by smog, there are still hills of trees on the other half. It’s cold, the wind blows like a storm is approaching. I can hear some people say, “dito na lang tayo, wag na tayo umuwi.”

I, too, wished that I could just live there and run away from all the problems I have in Manila. But we only have thirty minutes to stay there so I just took my time breathing and relaxing theere, enjoying the moment of being stress-free. I felt even younger for minutes. I looked back at my day and thought of how strong I am that even if I don’t know any of these places, I still managed to arrive safely and din't get lost along the way. It was a good idea not to bring other people with me. Just me and my thoughts alone.

I chose the stairs to go down. I need to give way to people who want to experience the hanging bridge with no distraction.

Luckily, a jeepney stopped in front of Cloud 9 which will pass by Lrt-Santolan. It’s originally a Cubao-Antipolo jeep, but it had cut its route to LRT. From Santolan Station, I went home with a feeling of satisfaction. I came home without scars or wounds, with complete body parts, and a happy heart, but also with tired legs.

My day was so fun. I came home with thirty pesos left in my wallet, but I am beyond happy for where I brought myself. The world is offering me so much; I shouldn’t die soon. I have a lot of places to visit, in my home land and abroad.

For a day touring Antipolo, I felt I was wanderwoman. Hahaha

Though the food are just ordinary for me, the 360 view's very amusing.

You have to walk through the bridge before you can reach the roof top. I was very nervous at first, but when I was going down already, twas just easy peasy 128514 #yabang

Let's face it, you come here for the view, cool weather, and basically just a place to chill with friends; not for the food. :P

And I said YES! At tinitignan ung magandang view at umuulan ulan pa kaya mas lalong malamig. Haha 128514

Since we had to wait for some people and for the party in Rizal to start, my friends and I decided to stop by Cloud 9 for snacks. There was a hanging bridge and a 360 degree view of Metro Manila (the photo I uploaded didn't even do justice to the real thing). Also, it was a hotel pala. But it was more of a motel than a hotel. Their food was pricey though. Also, the road to Cloud 9 is very steep so be very careful when going up and down (whether by foot or by car).

Nothing beats this place. If you're looking for a quick getaway with your family and friends that is near Metro Manila, then this place is what you are looking for! I remembered when I was in high school after our prom night, me and my barkada went here. So many things have changed since then. But one thing's not changing.. It's the feeling when you were able to see the fascinating view of from the top. Plus there is this hanging bridge from the resto up to the hotel ( I think ). I'm so scared I only got to cross just 1/4 of the bridge ( sorry I'm an acrophobic atleast I tried). We only had 1 bottle of apple beer and tokwa't baboy. We stayed there to have a chitchat while waiting for dinner. Experience wise, it was good. I will definitely be back.

Great spot overlooking the city. Food is okay, could be better. Very affordable though, so are their drinks, both alcoholic and non-alc.

After our short exploration downtown, went to the highest peak of Antipolo to relax and just have idle chat.

I must say the view is really good. Havent tried during night time here but I know it would be spectacular. Since we already had a snack at Cafe Cristina, we went here to just really chill and talk wile soaking in in the view.

We had a couple of drinks and their pansit bihon. The service was kinda slow but I guess it was lunch time. Food was great though and they werent that stingy with the meat and veggies.

I cant really comment more on the food for obvious reasons 128517 but if you want to try a different view while having a snack/lunch/dinner.. Go visit Cloud 9. 128513

Short review. We planned a trip to antipolo before our OB rotation starts so we can bond as a group before toxicity hits us.

• FOOD - I find it ordinary, bland and nothing really special.

• PRICE - Expensive especially the beers and shakes. For it's taste, you won't be satisfied for its price.

• AMBIANCE - It was okay but you'd have a perfect view of the metro, that's a bonus. You'd go here for this and not for the food.

• SERVICE - Not okay. We had to raise our hands several times just to be noticed by the waiters. Perhaps they think we don't have money that's why they don't mind us each time we ask for something, it took them awhile to get it but when it comes to the bill, "mas mabilis pa sa alas kuwatro".

I didn't take photos of the food since I am unhappy with it, just the view.

We felt the need of going far north because we always go to Nuvali or Tagaytay. I have been to Antipolo once and I don't know any places where good eats are. So we were just driving around and saw Cloud 9. I'm not sure about this but it seems the Hotel sits on top of Antipolo. It would be nice to have a good view so we checked if there's a restaurant.

The place looked old and exhausted. The place definitely needed help. Luckily, there's a restaurant and it's open. It also has great view (photo) of the metro. I'm not sure what fares they offer but mostly, Filipino dish.

We ordered Tinolang Manok, Fried Chicken and Sisig. It took around 25mins wait time so we just enjoyed the view.

I'm not going to distinctively review on the food but it was blah... I think we paid around 1000 for the food pero mas masarap pa ang carinderia malapit sa bahay namin. Poor food quality.

I'd like to give 1 star but the view was magnificent.

If it wasn't for the fantastic view of Metro Manila, there is no other reason to be here. Forget the food. Most carinderias offer better food for better deals. The place isn't maintained so it has a worn and grungy look about it.
