No doubt the best japanese curry place in the metro. Pork Cutlet Curry Rice at 340 + P100 for additinal 3 sidings was 128077128077128077. Oh, i recommend having it mild hot for the curry.

Despite its slow bill out time which cost us to miss few minutes of movie screen time ill still be giving this 5 stars.

This is my second time trying this place. It is relatively new in greenhills located in the carpark arcade 1st floor right beside army navy.

Finally able to try this place again after a long time. The staff upon entering the store greeted us with warm welcome and all smiles. They would serve you immediately with water upon taking your seat. They were also attentive and would refill your water once your cup is empty.

I ordered the creamy mushroom omelette curry with standard spiciness which cost 305php. It is a good mixture of curry and creaminess altogether. The serving was also big that maybe 1.5 people (if that exists haha!) would be able to share one plate or maybe it was just too heavy. Haha! Would definitely try to increase the spiciness next time around.

We also shared eggplant and spinach curry rice gratin which also satisfied my taste buds. It was like lasagna in a Japanese way. A mixture of rice, curry, vegetables and cheese on top is just the way to make your stomach happy.

Finally, trying their new dish, naan bread with curry. I would say the mixture of their curry is really delicious overall. Maybe I would only complain that their naan bread is too small but still delicious. The bottom side is fried/toasted in a way that it will be crunchy even if it is dipped with curry.

My overall experience was wonderful! 128515

I'm not a curry fan but this restaurant is just my happy place because their curry is THAT good. I eat here once or twice a month (I would eat as often as I can if they were a little bit cheaper) to satisfy curry cravings. My favorite is the pork cutlet omelette curry, level 4 spiciness. Cheese Hamburg is also a favorite. Spiciness levels I've tried are 3, 4 and 5. Level 3 is okay, level 5 is REALLY spicy so prepare your drink! Best curry in Manila! #TheQueenMuncherPH

Coco Ichibanya is one and only Japanese curry 'commercialized' (multiple branches) all over Japan. Also really good Japanese curry, just like how they serve it in Japan.

The ordering process offers customers with set meals that includes soups or salads with a main dish as well as dessert. You can also decide on the spiciness level of their curry.

Their Cheese Hamburger Patty is the bomb! There is an explosion of flavor in every bite. It was a wonderful feast in my mouth! It's so tender and juicy. And such a large serving too! You can share this, just add extra rice!

The service was also good with friendly staff who are alert to any customer needs. The interior decor of the establishment was pleasant to the eyes and gave a light and warm atmosphere.

Its the place to go if you are craving for real good japanese curry dishes. Highly recommended this place to curry lovers! I will definitely go back for another review to this place again! Its just a perfect Japanese restaurant to satisfy my hangover of Japan.

After my great experience at coco ichinbaya last time, i really want to go back real soon.  So one sunday after were finished with our groceries at unimart i noticed something that looks quite familiar.  Yeah, Coco ichinbaya at greenhills, so we immediately had our dinner here.  We order the following:

1. Curry Pork katsu with omelette - quite a big serving despite its lesser rice as compare to other meals like curry katsus.  This one had curry sauce outside the omelette and i must say it has ample amount of sauce.

2. Shrimp gratin - it was a other take of their curry and this time the curry is already mixed within the rice.  It was really good.

3. Pork katsu curry - this one was of the same katsu as the one of omelette but much more rice.  So if you want to be full afterwards be sure to order it.

For all the 3 we upgraded it into plus 3 items for the price of 100.  And by the way the ice cream as a dessert was really good. There are many takes on curry, its either chinese, thai, indian, but i love the japanese curry the best, i guess because of its creamy taste and coco ichinbayas one of the few japanese restaurants that serve really good japanese curry. Apart from their curry, i think what sets it apart was the dishes here are not that expensive. So there, hmmmm... i might be back here again really sooon. 128522

So my friend, sister and I were craving for Pepperlunch yesterday.. But since it was a long walk from Connecticut side, we picked the first japanese restau and it's Coco Ichibanya.. It was a 3pm lunch so we ordered as fast as we can..

Verdict:

Salads (Tuna and Egg) : both were enticing and very affordable..

Hashed Beef: the sauce was too powerful. Will not order it again.

Overall: hmmm.. Not satisfied.. We wished that we had more patience to walk to Pepperlunch.. We were full but unsatisfied..

One of the best decisions we've made- food related. 128523 This is what we had pre-Christmas dinner and it was perfect for the occasion. We were initially on our way to army navy, beside this store but when we passed by the staff at the entrance, she called our attention and showed us their menu. I told her I'm craving for a plain cheese quesadilla and to my surprise she said it was fine to bring in food from another resto. Wow, I was surprised that she was flexible in accommodating our needs. 128527

So when we finally gave it a try. 128525128525128525 Deym! It was delicious! I immediately forgot about my quesadilla. The sauce was superb! Waaay better than Yabu's curry. The egg that fully covered the rice was light, creamy, and fluffy. Just the way I want it, and don't even get me started on the pork cutlet. It was tender and moist inside. The meal can be shared if you're not so hungry as it was massive.

Service was excellent. I'm glad I left a survey 💯for the personnel who convinced us to try them out.

Can't wait to be back. 128512

SAUCE PALANG, ULAM NA!

Seriously, I would've been okay with just eating the Curry Sauce and rice. I am a fan of curry (I even named my dog after it 128054 hahaha) so maybe it's just me. But Coco Ichibanya's curry sauce is the bomb! I've tried curries from other Japanese restaurants but Coco Ichibanya's is smoother, tastier, creamier, huhu sarap talaga.

I got the Omurice with Mushroom Cream with a spice level of 3 plus a side of sausages. The curry sauce wasn't that spicy, I could've turned it up more, but at the end of the meal, I found myself sniffling haha! The mushroom cream was very tasty, but I think next time I will get something less flavorful so it wouldn't clash too much with the curry. The omelette was fluffy, and a good addition to the meal. The sausages were good, but I've tried better ones. All in all, I paid 430++, so it's kinda expensive for a meal that has no side dishes.

My boyfriend got the Omurice with Pork Cutlet. He got the spice level 2, and it was very mild for me. The pork cutlet was so-so, and it was a bit dry, but the curry sauce saved the meal.

Our server was very nice, and quite chatty.:128514 She was the one who warned us that level 2 would be the right spice level, but I don't agree with her. She even told us a story about someone who wanted to order a curry dish with a spice level of 20!128561

We left the restaurant with our plates wiped clean of their curry, and I saw other diners' plates were almost spotless too.127835 Less work for their dishwasher hehe.

I'm willing to go back for their delicious curry, but not anytime soon, since it's kinda pricy.128517

Boring picture from a boring meal.

Nothing to be excited about. I paid 340 pesos for a curry sauce that just made me and curry fall apart. :(

And for those who still wants to dine in the place just to try their famous sausage, it tasted like a kielbasa sausage. Nothing out of the ordinary.

One star for the cool a/c and warm welcome
One star for the techno-infused ordering system and last one is for the cold water they served even without asking. Haha para lang magka star

This Pork Cutlet Omelet Curry with number 4 - super hot is so delicious! The taste of curry is not overpowering and the pork cutlet is so crispy. Plus, the omelet is perfectly cooked.

Everyone who is a curry lover must try this. Super hot is just the right of spiciness that I can take. You can choose from level 1-5. 128076

I ordered the pork cutlet with omelette. I think I paid p400 or p450 in total for just that.

The serving size was good for two people but I was able to finish all of it because I didn't have breakfast.

Rice: Japanese Rice
Pork: It was really tender and really good. It's kind of like Yabu but thicker and the breading was really good.
Omelette: It came well with the Curry.

Downside:
The rice, the pork and omelette might be good but the curry sauce itself was just satisfactory. Nothing special at all. It's okay but it's not something that's overwhelming. I've tried real Japanese curry and it's far from what I had in Japan. It tastes like normal curry, very close to the Filipino curry but it only differs in color.

Pro tip: Do not add veggies. It's p100 + p25 or p35 for the curry sauce. Just order what I had instead.

Recommendations: If you want Japanese curry that's very close to the ones in Japan. Go to Ukokkei Ramen in front of Toy Kingdom, basement floor, SM Megamall. They have really good curry (the best one I had so far locally) because the Japanese owner's the one that actually cooks it.

The place was nice and cozy. All of us try different types of curry food, kids tried hamburger curry while me I tried the shrimp one. The service was fast and presentation was nice but I'm sorry , I'm not a curry type , isang curry lang type ko, si Stephen Curry, 128518

The price for me is quite expensive but to be fair their curry has a good smell and as I said again sorry I'm not a curry fan

CoCo (Channel) Ichibanya [according to Dastine S128514] has already opened 3 branches in the metro, with the promise of more branches to come... It was our first time to try the food at their Greenhills branch... Yey to a more convenient location!128515

The menu was a bit confusing for new patrons of the restaurant... Basically, you can choose from the rice or omurice meals with different proteins or veggies, which comes with a generous amount of Japanese curry... You can customize the heat level of your curry-- from mild to yowza! You can also choose from several add-ons to your basic meal... They offer anywhere from 2 to 4 add-ons (at different prices) in the form of salad, soup, dessert, and drinks-- to complete your meal... You can even mix and match proteins if you want... Lastly, you can opt to add even more toppings to your rice and protein combo! Items such as cheese, mushrooms, egg, cheese hamburger, sausages, eggplants, and more are available for even more flavor!128525

It's a simplified version of the extensive menu, for easy decision-making! There are lots of items available ala carte... But we kept it simple this visit. I just ordered the chicken cutlet curry rice topped with extra cheese at standard spicy level! bf ordered the pork curry omurice, medium spicy level...

We liked our respective orders! Japanese curry + cheese is a combo that is just right! I liked the standard spice level, knowing I can tolerate a bit more heat... The curry had layers upon layers of spices that made for an interesting mouthful! The chicken was bland on it's own, but I was thinking it might be on purpose... Too many flavors make for a confusing dish...128517

We didn't try anything else on the menu, but we were pretty happy with what we did try... Service was efficient and the staff were well-trained, polite, and attentive... It was a pleasant experience all in all! 128522

I seriously overpaid for a ginormous plate of rice slathered with Japanese curry and a sorry serving of chicken cutlet. The curry is as good as any Japanese curry but to be charged Php 300++ for it, it's highway robbery! The cutlet itself didn't do much for the meal, it felt more like an afterthought than a main.

There are some good points though:

1. Service was quite efficient- our orders arrived in less than 15 minutes and the wait staff were quick with the water refills.

2. Add-ons proved to be value for money - for an additional Php 80 with your overpriced curry plate, you get to pick from either the soup, a mini salad or dessert and a drink.

3. The fried squid salad that I ordered ala carte was not bad and at Php 150, the portion was just right.

Such a shame that while we left the joint with bellies full, it left us unsatisfied overall. May have to do some serious thinking if we are ever to return.
