This is called Lechon Kawali Kare-Kare Pasta for 225 pesos. I had this for lunch one afternoon in the office.

At first, I thought it's really weird because you only eat kare-kare and/or lechon kawali with rice. But with pasta? 128561 Hmm.. I was hesitant. But then, why not try it? Weird is good sometimes. And so I did. 128512

Verdict:
It's actually pretty good! I'm surprised, really.

The pasta went well with the strong kare-kare taste. The lechon kawali was also good, bitin lang. Plus, the serving is already good for 2. I didn't expect it to be THAT much, so yeah, I wasn't able to finish it. 128517

I think CocoHut has 2-3 more other weird pasta combinations available.

I'll try their Carbonara Longganisa next time. 9786

Their chicken tastes almost the same as Army Navy's. I think it is because they are sister companies/restaurants. Nevertheless I always order their chicken since I like the peppery taste of it!

Because I'm hungry yesterday, I forgot to take a pic of the food that we ordered.

We ordered Lechon Kawali Kare- Kare a must-try food. Super like their Kare- Kare version and a Teamarind Iced Tea. 128077🏻128079🏻

Finally got to try this place one Sunday lunch last March 5 with hubby after visiting my in laws at Commonwealth.

Cocohut is located at UP Ayala Techno hub. I've heard good feedback about this place so finally we tried. An island inspired theme resto, with Nipa huts design , very cool to dine here especially this summer season.

They are specialized in chicken and fish and also they served other Filipino dishes. The food here is good, got this battered deep fried cream dory served with rice, coco squash, and choice of two sauces for only 155 pesos then we got their palabok and I liked it and hubby had Laing which is good too.

Price is very affordable ,good food , good service , not crowded, will go here again in case I'll pass by this area.

I had the place all to myself when I went here for a quick lunch.

While waiting for my 2-piece chicken w/ rice order, I looked closely at the interiors of this branch. The long table on the photo has a sign on the table saying that it used to be a bowling lane. 127923 Pretty impressive!

Also, the numbers that they give you for your order were made from used lumber. It's really cool to know that Coco Hut's been using recycled stuff. Probably a good way to prolong the life of our world in some way. 127794127795127811

As for the 2-piece chicken, I had to wait 40 minutes for it. I followed up on the 20th minute and on the 30th minute, but still didn't get my chicken.

This should've been a 1-star review. But being a tree-hugger myself, I love the fact that they used recycled wood for some of their decor.

I hope they improve their service! 128077

Tried their pork barbecue with rice and ordered a side of monggo soup - all for Php 230. Not bad.

The pork barbecue is very filling. I was thinking it was going to be the typical short BBQ sticks but when it came out, they're actually pretty huge. Taste-wise, it wasn't all that great but when you're hungry, not bad.

The monggo soup was not good. It was very watery.

This branch says they're open 24 hours but don't be fooled, according to Pam L they're not open 24 hours on weekends.

ARMY NAVY's Filipino side!
Theyre sister companies :)
So on this end they serve Filipino food naman.

Its nice they serve truly filipino ingredients and gulay.... Like mashed KALABASA with gata (siding), desserts like UBE and LANGKA, and SAMPALOK icedtea.
DORY FISH was good!
same goes with BBQ. TAPA's fine.... Meh ibang lang na not tender. And i prefer the plate to be bigger para d limited moves ang pag-kain.

💲💲💲

The downside that i find though is its pricey.
I think i didn't found a meal round about P120.
I could have eaten somewhere like Kanto freestyle or sa karinderya. Haha.

2nd review of this place and I must say that the service and serving size has changed quite a lot. Chicken is now bigger and service is quicker. It's also a plus that they now have condiments like chili, sweet soy sauce, etc. Now I have reasons to return again.

They have these huge chicken servings, with a very unique flavor! Their tamarind tea is also good. Furthermore, Pinoy breakfast all day is tempting - will definitely come back to try those! 128522

Very interesting concept / twist on Filipino cuisine but the taste of food was disappointing. I would go back to try the other dishes, mainly out of curiosity :) Place is spacious and relaxed, service is so-so.

Hooray for having time to write yet another review!

So I went to Technohub last night to meet up with a friend and have our usual cup of coffee before she goes to work. During our tambay and kwentuhan, she mentioned this new fried chicken joint in Technohub that opened just two weeks ago. So after our caffeine fix, I decided to swing by before going home.

We went up to Coco Hut on the 2nd level of UP-Ayala Techohub. It's just right beside Bench Fix.

It's not your regular fast food joint becuase it's not as bustling as the other stores. But I guess that's just because they've only opened their branch here 2 weeks ago. Anyway, we walked in and went straight to the counter.

Before placing my order, I was looking at their menu which was placed right above the counter, very much like Army Navy's style. Their selection of food includes an array of choices between appetizers, soup, fried chicken specialties, fish, veggies, sides and desserts.

At first you would think that Coco Hut is your regular fast food/chicken joint. But what I really liked about this place is the type of food they serve here. Their fried chicken are fried to crispy goodness. What I like about their chicken is that even though it's fried, you won't have that oily feeling on your lips after you eat it. Plus I like their vegetables, too. Their selection has the typical fast food salad type sides. But the twist that I really liked about the place is having pinoy style cooked veggies (i.e. laing, langka, bamboo shoots and monggo). Their Coco Langka was yummy. I've yet to try the other veggies though next time I go to this place.

The ambience of the place was really nice too. It was a bit quiet. Not so much people were cramped inside the store. And having quick service and an awesomely nice staff are also major plus points for me. And of course, the affordable food that they offer. All in all, it was a nice dining experience. It's always fun to get to try new food places.

Shoutout to Froi, the store manager who was very accommodating of our requests.

Fun fact: There are only three Coco Hut branches so far - alabang, greenbelt and technohub.

I recommend you guys try this place out!

We went there on opening day because of the good reviews that I read and I love fried chicken. Kind of disappointed because they didn't have the thigh part. Tried out the original and spicy chicken and laing. Laing was ok. The original chicken, it was normal and nothing to rave about. The pieces were small as well. The "hut" chicken (tastes like butter and hot sauce) is better than the original but I think that it's way overpriced considering that a one piece chicken (a small part) will set you back a hundred pesos. I don't think I'll be returning anytime soon.
