Coffee Republic is a little cozy nook in Mangaldan, Pangasinan. It is right across the city's plaza and a few steps away from the municipal hall. I always see this restaurant/cafe and have been intruiged by it's design. Think of a bamboo hut.

Today I had the pleasure of visiting and hanging out in the place. They not only serve coffee but also beer. Dishes include sandwiches, basic appetizers and rice meals. The price is really affordable for a student's allowance. Although a glass of coffee is already a splurge for students.

I only tried their best selling coffee, the Chocolate Java chip frappe. It's ice blended coffee topped with cream and milk chocolate shavings. It's not really bitter, which is a disappointment for me. How can coffee be coffee without being bitter? But I appreciated how it was served in a mason mug.

They have free wifi, and have around 7 tables lined up in their vertical shop. Some customers came in and ordered a meal which aroma drafted into the small shop. I heard my stomach rumble but held my stand.

Staff was very entertaining. I believe they are the owners or at least relatives. Serving time was quick.

I would bet it is more productive in the afternoons and evenings when they can serve beer for 41 a bottle and 240 a bucket.

Tastes exactly like CBTL's "White Chocolate Dream."

This place is near Theatre Bar right across Cinema 5.

Coffee Republic's Ice Caramel was okay but nothing so special to it though. I mean it tasted ordinary.

But if there is one thing that I would recommend this to others is you'd seldom find this coffee shop jam packed with people so great for those who hate crowded places just like me! :-)

My fiancé and I were looking for a good lounging spot after strolling around Festival Mall but most of the areas were crowded. I told him that I wanted some coffee so we tried this out.

128682Ambiance

It's an open area so it was noisy. The mass can be heard from where we were and a lot of people kept passing by. This is not recommended for those looking for a relaxing stay.

9749 Drinks

We got the Chocolate and Caramel flavored ones (forgot their names) and they tasted good. Nothing special, a bit pricey but they were still okay.

127850 Pastries

We bought crinkles to go with our drinks. One pack cost P50. They were tasty but were not enough to satisfy our cravings.
