As the number of restaurants in the metro offering various food concepts to the dining public continue to grow, the competition in the food business gets even tougher. Because of this, restaurant owners should come up with unique ideas and ways to market their food place and increase their income. Cold Layers Cafe in Almanza, Las Piñas, took a step further by not just only going for flavored ice desserts, but they even went out of their way to serve their customers a variety of delicious meals. Aside from the desserts, they are also serving classic pasta dishes and staple rice meals. All of this are prepped up with a different twist.

Cold Layers Cafe specializes in creating snow ice concoctions. This sweet thing is made up of flavored ice, fruit slices, syrup, and ice cream. Both kids and adults alike are into this cool cup of goodness.

I had the chance of indulging myself with a variety of snow ice flavors. My fave is the soy one, which is priced at Php120. This is definitely the ideal dessert for those who are lactose intolerant. I love the chewy tapiocas and the nice aftertaste that go with it. Another snow ice variety that I like is called “Deep Temptation.” It was aptly named as such since you would find it very difficult not to give in to the temptation of having it. The taste was just glorious with the combination of fresh bananas, chocolate, nuts, and strawberry syrup in it.

As for their tasty meals, one of my faves would have to be their beef stroganoff. A bite of that tender meat unbelievably feels like it is melting in your mouth. The sauce is amazing too. It would be impossible for you not to take notice of that. At Php220, you get a great deal with their chicken cordon bleu. It has this special appeal to me, although I am not really fond of fried food. Anyway, I was satisfied with the chicken cordon bleu’s taste and its serving of cheese and ham. Their chicken pastel (priced at Php185) will bring you good memories of your mom or dad’s home-cooked dishes. It has chicken chunks, veggies, mushrooms, and melted cheese on it.

The whole experience at Cold Layers Cafe was made complete with its inviting and homey ambience. You can see that the interiors were mostly made up of fine quality wood, accentuated with streaks of vibrant colors. Even their furniture turned out looking very well with the the cafe’s interior aesthetic.
