A quaint coffee place in the heart of White Plains. Bright and spacious. Really, really great playlist. Ordered an iced white and grilled cheese with tomato soup and it is divine.

They have wifi available. Highly recommended!

After an outreach in nearby community in Libis, we had a snack here before retiring for the day. It’s relatively new and is part of the growing cafe along White Plains area.

Common Folk has a quaint look, relaxing and they offer not your usual meals for a coffee shop. We had a hard to love, Salmon to Love first, an open faced toast filled with smoked salmon that tasted old and sour. It came with pickled onions too that no one wanted to have.

For a comeback, I liked how they put together their tangy and delicious Ham & Cheese Cubano. This snack had overlapping slices of tasty ham, cheese, pickles with mustard for a slight hint of spice.

On desserts, Milk and Cookies were presented nicely, and delectable at that. The tiny cookies were chewy and moist with just the right dose of butter. The Apple Pie French Toast, however, were a miss. It was weird that its bread had a pudding like texture, too soft and mushy. It’s apple touch also was at lost, as it was simply topped over the toasts. We barely touched this one.

My cup of Cafe Latte’ gave a good sip of caffeine. It was just disappointing that they don’t serve non fat milk. I don’t get that. Do you?

NEW FOUND HAPPY PLACE 128557128557128152128152

Cute place, chill playlists, good food.
Their grilled cheese (served with tomato soup and chips) is even better than that of Early Bird's!

Decided to work remotely on a Friday from a cafe because, why not?

Common Folk is a little small, but I liked the ambience. I am not a big matcha fan. (Sorry, please don't kill me.) But I decided to take a risk at their Matcha Tea Latte. (Pero I told my friend to order a cappuccino, tapos palit kami pag hindi ko nagustuhan. Risk management lang, bes.) It's probably a little less matcha-y and too milky for some, but I liked it very matcha. I liked it a latte. 128514 9749

Just goes to show that just because you got hurt in the past, doesn't mean you stop loving, that you stop taking risks. Charot! Dami nang sinabi uminom lang ng Matcha Tea Latte. I would definitely go back here because we liked what we ordered. I loved... everything.

It was a match(a) made in heaven. 10084

PS: Katunayan yung last photo na nagwork ako at hindi lang lumandi. Hi, boss! 128075🏻

Tried their Iced Matcha Tea Latte. At first glance, it looks milkier because the white color overpowers the green part. After sipping it, the milky taste is indeed more dominant than the green tea flavor. They might want to increase the green tea flavor especially that it’s a matcha latte and not a milky latte.

There's a new coffee shop in Katipunan Avenue, and it's a haven for coffee lovers! ♡ Common Folk just opened last December and me being a coffee addict, made it a point to visit them the soonest.

We went on a late afternoon and thankfully there were several seats available. The baristas are all smiles and friendly, immediately greeting you upon entering.

We ordered the following:
Salmon to Love (260php) - 1008410084100841008410084
Three pieces of open-faced sandwhich topped with smoked salmon with cream cheese and a side of greens. This is delish! We completely devoured it in less than 5 minutes (not sorry)! The bread has just te right crispyness and the salmon was smoked to perfection. I love the generous spread of garlicky-cream cheese on it, was so tempted to order another. 128513

Cafe Mocha (150php) - 10084100841008410084
I'd like to believe that I've tasted some of the best Cafe Mochas in the metro. So there would definitely be comparison. Common Folk's Cafe Mocha is amazing! It has the right bitterness and sweetness you'd find in a Mocha. And the nice thing is they serve it in big cups! Yay!

Cafe Latte (150php) - 10084100841008410084
This one was rated by the BF. Hee! 128514 But I had a sip or two so I could write this review. It's your typical Cafe Latte, nothing that would really set it apart from other drinks.

Banana Bread (60php) - 1008410084100841008410084
Their banana bread was a perfect companion for my mocha. I loved it! It's kinda moist and with huge walnuts.

Aside from those, they also have cookies and other sandwiches. Originally I wanted to order their Matcha Latte but sadly it wasn't available. The place has a homey feel to it, perfect for an afternoon coffee date or a study sesh (they have good wifi connection)! Their place also have IG-worthy spots, especially the neon sign "no bad days". ♡

So, next time you find yourself somewhere in Katips, be sure to check them out. 9749128076🏻
