Commune has never disappointed its customers when it comes to its cozy interior! The food still tastes good.. tho, is it just me? Or there's a lil bit of changes? Like the food before tasted better than the ones they have now? Even the coffee?

Nonetheless, i would still give Commune a visit next time around! 9996️️

You're so lovely and cute... how can I drink you?

This is not my first time in Commune. The first one was in Salcedo Village, Makati City before. As I enter their new home in Poblacion, Makati City, COMMUNE Bar + Cafe still bright with nice interior but more spacious now. I got one regular size cappuccino for Php120.00. I asked the server if I can customized the design of my order, he replied yes and put some magic words on it.

Cappuccino - 1108811088110881108811088️ 5/5
"I really love the way they did to my cappuccino, as requested they customized the 3D design of it. The temperature of my coffee is also okay, not that hot as expected. The flavor is also good which not too bitter, I can drink it without putting sugar."

Good & cute coffee on a cool weather is def an awesome night ender for us! Loved the fresh juice too. My only concern here is that when I wanted to order some pastries I noticed it was left without cover for too long and there were some flies around so.. Controlled myself and gave it up. Save me some fats I guess 🤗128523

2nd Stop.  #TheUsualSuspects #PoblacionFoodCrawl

After having a sumptuous breakfast at Bean and Yolk,  we decided to swing by Commune.  I've heard about 'em,  i didn't have the time and patience to visit as Polaris Street is foreign to me.  Burgos x Poblacion is hard to navigate as the streets look the same and it's a mix of residential and commercial spaces.

Commune has gained popularity with their awesome 3D latte art.  I saw a couple of reviews and photos showcasing their expertise.   Personally speaking,  i dont really pay attention to latte art as i am more concerned of the liquid hiding behind the foam.

Oh well,  i might as well join the hype.  I got a cappuccino, the staff asked for my preferred design.  I blurted out,  Pikachu!  She gave a sly smile and politely said they will try.  I said okay,  if you cant do Pikachu then they can do something else.

| Cappuccino (php 120).  It a bird,  it's a plane...no it's a bear.   Coffee is mediocre which i totally understand.  Nobody is perfect (except for Benedict Cumberbatch).

| Nachos.  Clarissa P got this for everyone to share.   Aesthetically speaking,  it's not as pretty as the others I've seen.  Commune makes up for the lacklustre appearance with the taste.  The nachos they used us really flavorful,  crispy with the right amount of saltiness.

| Butterscotch ala Mode (Butterscotch pastry topped with Carmen's Best Salted Caramel Ice Cream).  Our resident sweet tooth got this because dessert is a requirement.  I was the designated hand model for the action shot 128512.   As for the taste,  Jairus d said it is way too sweet.  I was determined to skip this one as the "way too sweet"  description from our Sweet Tooth Fairy scared me.   I took a teeny tiny bite and i went into sugar shock!  He said that they should've used a different ice cream brand in order to create a perfect balance of flavors.  Both the pastry and ice cream is extremely good but when paired together the result is catastrophic.

Service is a bit slow,  servers are too relaxed unlike with the other third wave coffee shops wherein they welcome customers with a warm and friendly smile.  I guess they're too preoccupied with latte art 128512

I'd probably pay them another visit when i am near the area.   Albeit the lack of interaction from the crew,  i like the overall vibe of the place -  very conducive to daydreaming.

Second stop for our #PoblacionFoodCrawl was Commune Cafe + Bar. Located just a few meters away from Bean & Yolk, this is the location they moved after closing their place in Salcedo Village.

I was one sad gal when the news of Commune Cafe + Bar closing broke out and I highly anticipated it's return else where. I mean, it's previous location was perfect for me! Prime spot in the busy city of Makati, warm lighting, lovely interiors, a space that has shelves and some books - it's a perfect place to unwind after office or a space to get some peace, a place with good coffee and a perfect spot to people watch.

This new space was bigger than the previous with a second floor and a hidden space that's adjacent to their usual dining area. One side had a glass wall that resembled their previous space. This made it possible for lots of natural light to shine through the place. The other stretch of the wall was painted black and served as a canvass for their calendar of events and featured coffee and food. The interiors were minimal and the unfinished looked was too much, at least in my opinion. Bare walls, uncovered ceiling, pipes and wiring exposed though everything was organized and done neatly. Maybe it's still a work in progress, or maybe not. The place was very casual, nothing intimidating. They have this long counter that serves as their display area for their bread and pastries. All tables are made up of wood and are for sharing.

I was quite full when we got here and was pretty satisfied with my coffee from Bean & Yolk. I checked their menu and noticed that it has changed. I looked for something to nibble and found their nachos.

> Nachos for 140Php

I wasn't expecting much from this though. I was surprised that it was actually good! The nacho chips remained crunchy despite being subjected to several minutes of snap snap. Ground beef, pico de gallo and house cheese sauce were the toppings for the nachos. The mix was good and I liked the cheese sauce a lot. I kinda wished though that there was more.

> Cappuccino for 120Php

Commune is known for it's 3D Latte Art. They started this trend and they're really good at it. Reich T. decided to try it out. I must say that their latte art was amazing! This is not the mallow type that's pre-made and ready to be popped on top of your coffee. This art is made with lots of patience and talent. It's pretty amazing I must say.

> Sticky Toffee Pudding for 240Php + Carmen's Best Salted Caramel Ice Cream Scoop for 120Php

Since we were with Jairus d., an order of dessert was inevitable! He scanned through their display and decided to get a Sticky Toffee Pudding topped with a scoop of Salted Caramel Ice Cream. Commune carries Carmen's Best so expect everything a la mode to be a bit expensive.

The pudding slice was thick and super moist! It had dates in it which I'm not a big fan of so it was cloying for me. Jai said it was good though but didn't go well with the salted caramel ice cream. IMO, both were too rich and sweet. They should have paired this with plain vanilla. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the Salted Caramel flavor of Carmen's Best! I'll take it on it's own at any time but then again this pairing is not one for the books.

Overall, the experience was just okay. I would love for their servers to be a bit more warm and welcoming. A bit more friendly and chatty just to check if everything is alright. Not sure if I'll come back here though. It has lost it's appeal to me.

Just a few steps away from Bean and Yolk, next stop was -- COMMUNE. I've been here before already but most of us sill haven't visited this place yet. Commune is known for their oh so cute and pretty 3D Latte Arts. A lot of other coffee shops are also offering drinks with 3D latte arts but Commune, imo, is the best. They surely know how to make their coffees good and oh so pretty! 128077🏼

Cappuccino with a nice 3D latte art for Reich T
An appetizer for everyone to share.
And of course, dessert for Jairus d. 128517128523

Reich initially wanted to ask for a Pikachu 3D latte art but the training is still in progress for our Pokemon masters (a.k.a the baristas 128517) that they can only do their usual 3D arts. Not a problem since the 3D art is still cute and ig-worthy! 128523 It was so cute ayaw na siyang inumin! Haha, masisira kasi! 128517128518

Clarissa P ordered Nachos for everyone to share. I was not expecting anything from the nachos but was surprised that it was actually good. Everyone liked this! Crispy and tasty nacho chips w ground beef, tomatoes, jalapeños and cheese. Would be better if there were more cheese added. 128077🏼

Of course, we can't leave without getting a dessert! 128517 Jai ordered the Butterscotch w Carmen's Best Ice Cream. Moist butter scotch topped with ice cream. Jai enjoyed this because it was EXTREMELY SWEET. Hello, diabetes!! 128563128563 But according to him, the butterscotch and ice cream combo didn't worked that well. Individually, they're good but when together, hindi sila bagay. But still, he enjoyed and finished this one!! 128514128518

The place is really nice and bright. Perfect for big groups since this one is bigger than Bean & Yolk. But also a good nice place for those who would want to study and/or read a book.

Service was just not that good. A bit slow and the servers were not that attentive. Hindi ko naramdaman yung presence nila masyado. 128517

I think one reason why a lot of people are going to Commune is to buy and see their 3D latte arts. How can you not want that, right? It's so cute!!! That was my main and only reason for going here before!! 128517 And the very same reason why my two officemates went here with me last week! 128521128513

It's my first time seeing this branch and comparing this to their old store, I like this one better because it's brighter now and simpler? 128518 I like the vibe of the place. Very chill. Not too crowded and noisy, as well. Would just be better if the seats are extra comfy?? But other than that, this is a really nice place to catch up with friends or do serious studying or paperworks! 128521

Since we are only after the 3D art latte, we ordered one Cappuccino. Then a cup of Cafe Mocha. And a cookie shot with carmen's best ice cream, too.

Serving time was a bit long since they need to prepare the coffee then make the latte art. Patience!!! 128513

First served was the Cafe Mocha with the usual latte art. Tried it before lumamig and was surprised that it was actually pretty good. The sweetness from the chocolate and bitterness from the coffee was just right. I enjoyed drinking this drink. 128077🏼 I just don't know how they can at least make the drink hot a bit longer. If that's possible. 128517128513

Then after a few minutes, they served us with the 3D art!!! And it was sooooo cute! 128525128525128525 Ang hirap inumin haha! This was my friend's order and he liked it. The coffee was strong according to him but when he added sugar, masarap na daw. Haha. We are just really after the 3D art!! 128517

Then for dessert, my other officemate ordered the Cookie Shots. You can either have this with milk or with ice cream. Since ice cream is better because duh, ice cream we had that one. They use Carmen's Best ice cream in different flavors. Cookie Shot + Dark Chocolate ice cream, please? It was immediately served and we were all clueless how we are going to eat it.. Hmmm, yup it was hard eating this one plus messy. And there's nothing really special about this. Better to just order an ice cream scoop and a cookie!! 128514

Service was uhm, good then weird. Good because upon entering the place, you'll be greeted by their friendly baristas with a smile, guide you to your table and get your orders. They would even suggest items we should try. They were really friendly at first. But then after serving us with our orders.. They just became weird and snob. 128530

What love here is their Longganisa dish, mine that day was Tugegarao? (Won't able to take a photo, 'coz I'm hungry) 128517 Worth the walk and the money... 128514 I'm definitely coming back. 128521

Huling hugot bago mag Hunyo.

Michelle Manese, one of Words Anonymous' spoken word poets celebrated her birthday giving us an event of her.

It's held at Commune in Makati. So it will be my first time to be at commune during an event. I went here few times for coffee but it's kind of hassle to walk through the surrounding streets because bars and I'm not used to being in the surrounding. Poblacion hits. 128584

But for M, I did it.

I arrived minutes before 7PM but entered the vicinity by minutes past 8PM.

Event was held upstairs.

It wasn't too crowded during the event so I guess it was a good place to have small events.
The mic is not functioning well, good thing is that even without microphone, the walls of commune bounce back the sound waves nicely. Mas maganda po talagang walang microphone.

They serve what's on their menu + liquors. Yes, even those 3D art lattes. But I already had my coffee fix at tipsy beans that day so no need for another coffee hehe.
I ordered fries and blue cheese and claimed my free drink. I was shocked when a bill was given to me after they placed my order. Masyado pa atang maaga para bigyan ako ng bill 128517

The down here is that, every order, you have to pay for it A G A D A G A D. They have 10% service charge so mapapamahal talaga if you place orders one by one.

The balcony was also used a lot. So, good job for them for that. At least smokers would not be hassled to go down and go out just to smoke.

Service was good. Attentive and approachable staffs.

Although Upstairs by Commune is a lot spacious than Habitual, I'd still prefer Habitual's place. It's more welcoming and very intimate place to have this kind of events.

Should know there is a place in town that serves 3D coffee art. The uniqueness of this place is to serve coffee with the art of foam in different types of presentation.

It was an impromptu coffee hunting day since me and my boyfriend wanted to chill after a semi roadtrip to BF Homes Parañaque. We decided to check around Makati and look for a place that are less crowded. Luckily we found this fresh looking place at the corner of the street. We immediately look for a parking space and was welcomed by their very accommodating staffs. Right after we've found a seat, they gave us their menu. No need to fall in line to order. They'll be the one to take your order and just relax on your seat while waiting for your food and drinks to be served.

Since we already had our Mirienda/Dinner and our aim was just to chill out; we went straight to their beverage menu. My boyfriend just wanted an iced chocolate which they offer in regular and large size. Same goes with their coffee. I ordered a regular size Cappucino. Well honestly I don't drink coffee, but for today I pretended I do after I discovered that they serve 3D art coffee. It has always been my desire to see one because they were too cute in pictures. I'm just a coffee art lover, never a coffee lover (haha). By the way, Their 3D is only available for Cappuccino. I also ordered Nachos for us to nibble on.

The taste of their cappuccino is just okayyyy but it was too strong for me! (Ugh! Sugar please!). I really did not bear to start sipping my 3D art right away because it was tooo cute!! Huhu. Their Iced choco were good and their nachos was great!

Despite of the small in-door sitting area on the ground floor they have a 2nd floor to cater for their evening or weekend crowds. Wasn't able to check the whole place because we were too busy chatting and laughing throughout our stay. I just know they have because I noticed that some people go straight ahead and told the staff that they'll take their sits upstairs. The place was really comfortable plus the cooling temperature in the cafe with free wifi! It's really good for meetings and people who wanted to study and relax.

For a conservative/maarte person like me, a drawback for this place was their comfort room because they don't have separate place for male and female use. Anyways, at least the place is clean with complete toiletries.

Commune offers a range of beverages from beers and wines including cute 2D and 3D drinks. They also serve dishes with rice. But if you just want something light to go with your drinks perhaps some sweet pastry like cupcakes and cookies would be a great choice. I plan to revisit again so as to try their recommended Pork Adobo With Salted Egg and Cookie Shot With Carmen's Best. Overall I would say this place is worth a try.

The other day I was in makati for a whole day meeting. Since I was already makati Jayson J, Kristin A and Marco Jose L decided for a foodie meet-up in makati. After a good thai meal at siamaroi, latte art adik Jayson J suggested we go for a coffee at commune.

Walking to its new location was okay but the place got some street dwellers already preparing to sleep. If your alone it would be kind of creepy walking on this street of makati. So be sure to be alert. 128076

Commune not so new location is a lot better. They are now located near poblacion area. Near the red light district of Makati. It was more spacious and the ambience for me was a little bit similar to Yardstick.

I went for a hot choco since lately I have problem sleeping when drinking coffee at night but the rest ordered for coffee latte with a 3D latte art. The 3D latte art was impresive. Watching them how they do this was cool. Their 3D latte art are really top notch. It was cuteness overload!128525128525128525 Tastewise the latte were also good per feedback. For the hot choco it was also delicious.

Known for the best 3D Latte art in the metro, I'm super glad to visit again and to find their skills did not wane even though their baristas changed.

Note that they do not do 3D latte arts on other coffees except on the cappuccino. So we ended up ordering cappuccinos except for dennis who ordered mocha. Boo.

128204 cappuccino
This is by far the darkest cappuccino i have tasted. I usually order cappuccino for lighter espresso options but i was surprised how strong it was.

128204 carmen's ice cream
One scoop of malty milk please. Thick and milky with Malteser. I wish i could have ordered cereal flavor.

No matter, i was able to sleep immediately though i had three cups of coffee today. 128516

Coffee coffee coffeee! All day errday! 9749

I always love Commune, not just because of their cute coffee designs (I even asked the barista to make my coffee design the cutest and he made a kitten! 128514) I feel home whenever I visit this place. Love the ambiance.

They have varieties of coffee, desserts, beverages and even rice meals to choose from!

Coffee place like this is always a great place to hangout and catch up with friends! 128513 I'll never get tired of going back! 128077🏼

I have no words on how I enjoyed trying out Commune! I never got to really try their iconic latte's way back when they were still located at Salcedo, now they are currently located at Poblacion! We tried their 3D latte art for free and it took us five minutes just to ruin that cute latte art, the red velvet cupcakes are also a must try :). They have great atmosphere and accomodating staff, they even made us write on their guestbook (which we drew some silly doodles) aha. The ground floor isn't finished yet but the upstairs area is well ventilated but poorly lit during night. I suggest visiting them during the day if you want to take quality Instagram pictures! Definitely going back here and will try their food menu.

(I took this photo because 1. I love what they did to the wall; and 2. There's something serene with people who eat alone without a care in the world and by the way, this place seems to be a good place to eat alone, read a book, etc.)

I love the place. It looks so clean, super chill, and a very cozy place to unwind with a nice hot cup of coffee. 9749 We didn't actually get coffee but the food is reasonably priced and also good. The waiters were very accommodating.

Will go back to try their coffee. 128522

Commune relocated at Poblacion wirh new interiors and same coffee offerings. Honestly, their floating coffee art are cute and unique. However, these are limited to their lattes only because of the foam. The price is fair because the large cup is below Php 150. The coffee beans used were pretty light, but smooth. I'd still prefer a strong blend of coffee though. But, the latte art is so cute to resist. The new place is bigger, and cozier. I like the interiors of the relocated branch. It's also right in front of The Alchemy and few walks away from El Chupacabra.

I was really planning to go to the precynt at the grove, i was really disappointed to find they were having a christmas party. Then Kristin A suggested commune at makati since i really have nothing to do naman.

The store closes 10pm and i arrived 9:58pm and they gladly accomodated me. Did i forget to mention that it was rainy outside and the traffic is starting to get ugly? Commune is such a resting place. Although it's dark and dreary outside, at Commune, it's always sunny! I like the bright lights, the wooden side tables, their bar, the white old fashioned color theme, and their food!
128204Cappuccino
Interesting. The moment they asked me what coffee will i be ordering, i asked: "saan jan yung may latte art?" hahaha! Then so cappuccino it is.. The coffee is not so strong. Just milky. And.. Look at the 3D latte art!! Naman... That's the best looking so far.

Ask barista Mix... He did that art!

128204cream cheese pandesal
At first it made me think if this was my order. Cause i did not see any pan de sal in the menu.. I only saw cream cheese and sundried tomatoes. Those pandesals surely does not belong to this sossy place.. But... First bite made me forget about the presentation. Cream cheese really likes pan de sal! The potato chips were crunchy and thick.

Plus. This cafe has e-plugs available near the wooden side tables. I love this cafe. This is the right place. Especially on a rainy day.. I think they just have to add more items on their menu.

Oh Russel F you recommended this pala. And btw. This was the day Mark B

Last time Charm A and I tried to go to commune, they were still at their old location at HV Dela Costa, but there was no free parking space around the area so we weren't able to check it out. Then the idea of giving it another shot came up and we found out that they moved to Polaris St. Good thing I checked looloo first because we planned to walk to HV Dela Costa from Ayala triangle. 128513

They were still on the soft opening phase and the only functioning area was the 2nd floor. To be honest, I wasn't very happy with this place for 3 reasons.

1. The place was dark, it didn't have much lights and the ambiance was just off. I hope they added more lights and maybe invested on a sound system, if they haven't, to play some "cafe music". Plus, the place was hot. Seemed like the AC couldn't handle the big room.

2. We ordered the famous 3D Cappuccino and yes, the 3D art was cute. We had a 3D panda sneaking out of the cup, but the taste wasn't really good. It was normal.

3. Lastly, the iced mocha. For 145 pesos, it wasn't good at all either. I made sure to taste it first before taking photos not to be unfair since it had ice, but it really lacked in taste. 128542

I don't know if we'll be coming back here. Maybe when the cafe is fully opened.

PS. The cookies on the photo weren't purchased from Commune. I actually baked them and had extra baon in my bag so I just requested for a small plate. Hehehe 128540 I also edited the photo to adjust the brightness, just in case you say that that the place doesn't look dark on the picture. It's because still want to upload a nice photo. 128522
