Sisig Chronicles. Day Two.

I am still craving for sisig for some reason. We went to Conchos for lunch. The place is simple, hole-in-the-wall resto, al fresco, wooden chairs and tables. The menu is straightforward - take your pick, they have crispy pata, chicken, beef salpicao and some set meals.

We ordered the classic sisig, rice and dynamite. The sisig is mediocre, they serve this with some spicy vinegar on the side. I still prefer Gerry's Grill. The dynamite on the other hand is friggin awesome. Four huge deep fried logs. Green chili filled with ground beef flavored with mayonnaise. The dip was a lil weird, not sure if it's mustard based. The beef is seasoned well, you can taste the beefy goodness. Good deal at php 130, yes?

I have to go to Gerry's as soon as possible.

Lilac St has been my to go to when I'm hanging out with my son coz it's just a few blocks away from our house.
We we're here 2 Sunday's ago; we had 3 servings of rice, the biggest size of Sisig, mango sago and the green chili wrapped in lumpia wrapper (sorry forgot the name).

This is not your ordinary sisig; its soft served with vinegar instead of calamansi yet it is full of flavorful and a bit spicy but tolerable by kids, in fact my son and nephew loved it.

The mango sago is quite disappointing, thanks to vanilla ice cream; it saved the day.

Overall, I will give it a 4 127775 for attentive and friendly staffs with Kean Ciprano on the side. I felt that the serving is quite small for the biggest size of sisig which they claimed as good for 2-3 people but actually it's only good for max 2 people. Though, the experience was not that awesome, I will still recommend this place to people who love Sisig; come and visit and taste the soft sisig; I know you will love it.

Lilac Street is the next big thing in The Ultimate Foodie Map. Concho's sisig delivers what they promised. There is still big room for improvement.

For 180php you'll get your money's worth. Sisig and egg w/ rice plus iced tea for the main, and mango sago for dessert. Para sakin, sulit na cause busog na busog na ako after! A chill place to have lunch with friends. No aircon though, but i don't mind. I love it that way soooo.... Anyway, i'm pretty sure i'll visit this place again! Taste wise, its good!128076🏼 but then again their serving disappointed us.:( their serving good for 2-3 was the size of the normal sisig plate good for 1-2.and again, the drinks was pricey also.the beers were priced with rates of bars in bgc..knowing their market and their resto is there in marikina.

But their sisig were good.128077🏼bearable spiciness and it tasted good with their vinegar(yup vinegar not calamansi)

The sisig was okay. It has the same texture as the corned beef. I think it will be better if they add some crunchiness on it like chicharon or lechon maybe. But I like the mayo on it and the special mango sago.

How sad...I wasn't able to see Kean Cipriano128530 HAHAHAHA I love him pa naman ever since I watched his stint in "English Only, Please." Haha!

They don't serve the usual crispy sisig. Concho's sisig is actually soft and very flavorful (plus affordable!!). For 170pesos, you'll get a good sisig meal (rice, sisig, and egg), iced tea, and their dessert of the day. We were served with mango sago. I'd consider the mango sago as the highlight of my meal more than the sisig128514 So sulit na right?

Their sisig is very nice with just enough spicy flavor. Price is reasonable. And the best thing about this is that Concho's just a 7 minute walk away from our house!

So, I've seen Concho's for a couple of times already. The area is located on the second floor along Lilac St., we're trying to avoid it among other food houses because of the idea of sisig being an oily food (cause we're all trimming down oil intake, LOL) But since, we're stressed eating at that moment, i suddenly craved for sisig. We ended up in Concho's.

Reviewing starts now, the place is cozy, since it is on the second floor the open plan has an overlooking view through Lilac st. And also, it is very clean.

we ordered Concho's Sisig Super Meal, it is simple sisig with rice, iced tea and mango sango.
Their sisig is not oily, with very minimal amount of 'taba' it is like a shredded pork meat and the taste was the catch. Winner talaga as in it carries everything.
The mango sango is the 2nd placer, sarap! But di masyado maraming serving :(

We also tried the calamares, it was okay but the sisig, for me was the best talaga :)

PLUS, we saw Kean Cipriano (Callalily) we thought kakain lang siya dun pero tinanong kami, "is everything alright? Okay naman?" So we assumed Concho's is Kean's. He's so gwapo! 1008410084

Ang sarap ng sisig dito!

Considering I prefer the crunchy, crispy type of sisig... I still really liked their sisig. And rightfully so, since sisig is their main offering.

Very reasonable prices too.

I've also tried their calamares (nothing great) and their dynamite (since I love spicy food, I felt it lacked that spicy kick). I am, however, eyeing their Beef Salpicao and Crispy Pata next time I visit. With how their sisig tastes, I can imagine these dishes to taste just as good.

On a minor note, they play a lot of Eraserheads songs, which is a plus for me!

By far, the best sisig I've tasted in this side of Marikina.
