I have been invited to do a food review for a restaurant up South, which is the Confusion Diner. It’s a good thing though that I went there on a Sunday since traffic is somewhat manageable. To get to Confusion Diner, one has to access Aguirre Street since the restaurant’s situated inside a private village.

The diner is actually sandwiched between a couple of other restaurants. Confusion Diner serves American dishes with a Filipino twist. Once you get inside the place, you get to see movie posters decorating it’s walls.

I have noticed though that some food items in their menu seemed to be out of place. They have quesadilla, pasta, and a single sandwich, which, in my opinion, doesn’t really match with their restaurant’s theme. I wonder if their inclusion is intentional since the name of their restaurant is “Confusion Diner.” I’d say I have been totally confused with their menu.

So, we were served seven dishes all in all. It only totaled to Php1,200, and I’d say that’s a great deal for all that food, which I think, were all satisfactory. Also, I should note that they serve a decent portion of the food so that was a great deal indeed.

Anyway, I think there were a couple of hits and misses on their part. Let me share with you guys what I think are worth ordering from their menu. One of their must haves is their tocino wings. They were flavorful and not greasy.

Another great food choice would be their sisig quesadilla. Quesadilla is basically from Mexico, and it’s inclusion in Confusion Diner’s menu is somewhat off, but nevertheless, this quesadilla doesn’t disappoint. It’s not overly cheesy, and the bold sisig taste lingers in your mouth. I think what it just needs is a bit more texture to it.

Lastly, if you are to have your dessert, order their lava cake. This chocolate cake is so lusciously good and would blow your mind off when combined with ice cream.

Another food review invite way south. It’s a good thing it’s a Sunday, much manageable. So to get here you need to access only Aguirre street as it is inside a village.

Confusion Diner sits beside multiple restaurants. Their concept is fusion of American with a touch of Filipino diner. You come in and see walls with movies.

There’s some dishes that seemed lost in the menu like quesadilla, pasta and one sandwich entry. If that was to confuse then they got me.

We had 7 dishes. For a total bill of just Php 1,200 it satisfies. The portions are decent thus good value nevertheless.

There are hits and misses. So let me share what you should order instead. Their Tocino Wings have vibrant flavor, very tasty and not greasy for fried wings. Must have.

Another good pick would be the Sisig Quesadilla despite a confusion entry on their theme. It’s not so overly cheesy because the strong sisig taste still lingers in your mouth. It would have been better though if it had a crispy feel to it. More texture.

For dessert, go for Lava Cake. Yes it’s typical delicious setting. The chocolate is warned perfectly inside. When combined with ice cream, you just might get confused. 128522

I ordered the Grilled Chicken Aglio Olio. It was okay. Could use more garlic because the spiciness was a bit overwhelming (I enjoyed more the Chicken Alfredo my friend ordered). The grilled chicken was dry and a bit bland. We ordered the onion rings and chicken fingers as appetizer. The onion rings was good flavored with BBQ powder but it was a little oily. The Chicken fingers was also dry and the fries was just ok.

The interior was really nice with movie posters on their wall.

Overall, I may go back to this place but not too soon.

A trip down south for an errand meant grabbing the opportunity to try a restaurant unique to the area. After driving along President's Avenue and Aguirre, we decided on Confusion Diner mainly because there was an available parking slot and the place sounded interesting anyways.

It was lunch time on a Sunday and we were the only diners when we arrived. They opened the lights and the TV's while we were settling in. Movie posters were plastered on the walls.

For starters, we had the Loaded Potato Chips which were so addicting. They were thinly sliced and very crunchy. I think they may have been baked instead of fried. The plate was generously topped with longganisa, mango salsa and cheese sauce. Their menu was right in saying that nachos just got some competition.

Another favorite from this meal was the Sisig Quesadilla which tasted so good. The mango salsa and cheese complemented the sisig. One of the best sisig twists I've ever tasted.

After the appetizers, everything was kinda blah and forgettable. We had the Grilled Pork Steaks, Chicken Barbeque, Ribeye Pares and Beefy Mushroom. The mashed potatoes were good, the vegetables tasted like those grocery bought frozen veggies.

There were some things we didn't appreciate and we informed the server about it. The Ribeye Pares was served almost 30 minutes from the time the first appetizer landed on our table. We were still waiting for some of our main dishes and yet the food from the table that arrived after us kept on coming out. Some of the plates were dirty or wet underneath. They were apologetic about the lapses.

The Sisig Quesadilla and the Loaded Potato Chips are the only items I would order again. I doubt though that we would be back any time soon.

**Acoustics aren't great. You might be bothered by the chatter of nearby diners.
