One of my favorite places for pork chop and, today, I discovered, for beef tenderloin, too.
The pork chop has been consistently delicious. Perfectly seasoned and juicy good.
The beef comes with the first batch of onion rings that I truly enjoyed.
Service is decent and food is always freshly made.

I really loved how this place looked. 128525 It was really bright, spacious and parking wasn't a problem! I also enjoyed going around and looking at the quirky items they sell while waiting for our orders to arrive. 128525

After 10 minutes of walking around the store, I saw our orders on the table. Got their classic grilled cheese and their shrimp pesto (not sure about the name so I just made the name up lol) with their CO/OP iced tea. All those three were very good. My favorite was the grilled cheese. The bread was really soft and dem cheeeeeeeeseeeeee!! 128539

I just wish we had dessert in another place cause both the red velvet brownie and the cookie dough cupcake were meh. 128563128532

Service was good though...

I love quaint coffee shops. It never fails to make my heart skip a beat. Well, that and too much coffee.

After a quick and blooper-filled S&R trip, V and I decided to have coffee somewhere. V recommended CO/OP and I recall M mentioned that place when I asked for food stops for my San Juan food trip (which became a White Plains food trip). I quickly agreed and off we go to San Juan.

The place was slightly hidden (or was it because it was dark?) so you need to be somehow familiar how to get there. A big CO/OP sign though will greet you so you’ll know when you’ve reached your destination.

I instantly fell in love with the place. A huge MANILA signage was at the porch which serves as a cute backdrop for a few tables and chairs for the al fresco diners.

The counter is the first thing you’ll see once you open the door. With a simple menu, it wasn’t hard to decide what to order.

Since we were still full from our pizza, chicken and fries, we opted to have the Dessert in a Jar (PHP175), Cappuccino (PHP110) for me and CO/OP Iced Tea (PHP80) for V.

While waiting for our orders, we checked out the cute stuff CO/OP carries.

At first, I had the impression that the items they were selling were NGO products. Apparently, these items are from other countries like US and Australia. Most are priced about PHP900.

After a few minutes, our food and drinks were served.

I didn’t find anything extraordinary with the cappuccino but it was good. They just failed to serve sugar with my coffee.

The iced tea was slightly citrusy making it refreshing. But it seems to have an equal amount of foam.

The dessert in a jar (chocolate nut crunch) was pretty enjoyable. I liked the different textures. It seemed like your usual chocolate cake with a slight crunch.

With the cute décor and it being slightly hidden, I will definitely visit again. I’ll most likely try the sandwiches next time and perhaps the lemonade as well.

It's more than a coffee shop. It's more than a place wherein you can eat good food. It's more than an establishment where you can chill and hang-out. CO/OP is actually more than what your eyes can see from its first sight.

Located at the heart of Little Baguio in San Juan City, CO/OP occupies a large area so it won't be too hard for you to spot it instantly. The establishment has a quite huge parking area so that's good news, right?

A huge CO/OP sign will welcome you as you go down from tour cars. The exterior of the restaurant has trees and pebbles as flooring that actually give that casual, cool feel upon entering the place.

As you go to the entrance door, you'll see letter blocks that create the word MANILA. This can be a photo opportunity area for barkadas, families and officemates especially during daylight.

Upon entering, you'll instantly get the artsy, creative vibes of the place. From the interiors which showcase a lot of artworks like paintings, drawings, framed digital artworks, etc. to the actual furnitures in the establishment that's actually a mix and match of usual tables and chairs to cushions and couches, every area is actually a spot wherein you can take selfies and groupfies.

From there, you can opt to go directly to the counter and order your dishes as it's pay as you order. When I visited with my best friend, we ordered their Mac & Cheese and their Cheese Sticks so imagine the cheese and milk overload in our dishes.

Both items were good. The pasta was cooked al dente, generously served and simple yet really tasty with its sauce. The cheese sticks balanced the taste in such a way because it has tomato salsa dip on the side which I loved!

But hey, aside from their menu items, CO/OP has a whole lot more to offer given the items that they sell inside (check my photos).

They have a whole lot of artsy, cute and unique items that different types of people will get to appreciate. For the creative ones, they have artworks, paintings, framed digital works that you can display in your places. For the homemakers, they have utensils, creative looking glasswares that are all unique looking. For those who love papers and stationeries, they have a lot of stash that will make you crazy, from notebooks, wrappers, etc., they have it all! I cannot actually enumerate every single thing because there's a whole lot!

So if you can't wait then visit CO/OP now and get to know what I am talking about!

PRETTY...disappointing for what looks like a beautifully crafted matcha cake. Instead of the usual buttercream, they used matcha-infused cream with gelatin between layers of matcha chiffon cake. It didn't taste and feel right without the creamy part! Felt like I was cheated on, parang election lang!1285149996🏻️

Had their salmon eggs ben and I was quite disappointed with it.
Found the hollandaise sauce too overpowering and the salmon didn't taste too good. It was P390 and I felt bad about the price vis a vis the food quality.

I also ordered the french toast with cream cheese and bacon. I prefer my syrup in the side, in that I'll have the discretion on how much to put. Forgot to ask them to set aside the syrup. Other than that it was pretty okay.

I'm giving their breakfast food another chance and will definitely go back to try their other dishes though.

I guess I like their ambiance and the fact that the place has a lot of merchandise being sold. Last time I was here there were a lot if Star Wars stuff and I told myself I'd come back for them. So sad they're all gone now. 128557

Cookie dough cupcake! Php75

I thought to myself. Wow ! This is something new so why not!

It was served heated! It was pretty good. I'm just not a big fan of the cream cheese frosting like the ones you get on top of red velvet cupcakes. So yeah I 'm not a fan of sour desserts to begin with. If you are into it then you would like this!

The cupcake is really good! Addicting really!

Service is great! Love the big parking space. This is a good meet up place!

Since we were in the San Juan area and needed a place to hang out for a couple of hours, dad suggested CO/OP.

It was almost 9PM and we haven't had dinner. There were still a lot of empty tables when we arrived (it was a Saturday night) but the place slowly filled up. Some were there for drinks and dessert.

On the table
🔹Classic Grilled Ham & Cheese Sandwich
🔹House Corned Beef Sandwich
🔹Tuna Melt Sandwich - my fave from the three. I think it had olives.
🔹White Chocolate Macadamia Cookie - smelled so good. A bit sweet.
🔹Potato Fries - attacked this right away. Catsup was served in a small shot glass so we asked for more.
🔹Matcha Milk Cake - no weird matcha or green tea taste. I kinda liked that one bite even if I don't like green tea
🔹Strawberry Lemonade - yummy and refreshing. It had fresh strawberries

Their Sandwiches were humongous. No wonder they were that expensive. We had a hard time finishing them. The bread was buttery and greasy. The Cheese was the redeeming factor of the sandwiches which were served with Vinaigrette Salad and Camote Fries.

Part of the place was a store that sold different merchandise like wrapping paper, bags, books, cake stands, tea sets and a lot of decorative items.

Overall, this is a good place to kill time if you don't mind having so so tasting sandwiches.

Just here for the iced coffee...that, according to friends, tasted like Nescafe. But I still liked it. 128514

I remember in UST more than a decade ago, there was a building which was informally called Co-op. #walalang 128517

Co/op also sells all sorts of quirky things. For unique gift ideas, you might want to check it out.

Co/op also serve foods and desserts (i was able to tikim their chocolate cake which was ordered by a friend - delicious and thick chocolate icing). They also sell cool (expensive) stuffs in their shop. Btw, i like their big table/order number clip. I want one at home 128539

It was a random night and we were supposed to go to Shang to look for somewhere to dine but he had a better idea of going here because he haven't tried it yet.

We were welcome by artsy lighting and cute artworks that are for sale in their counter. I swear your eyes will be busy for the next minute because of their items. So when I'm done ordering my pesti pasta, while he had rib steak, I went straight to their shopping area. They have this cool stuff and books and weird but pricey items that theyre selling.

I saw many cat-inspired items that I would love to buy but hesitant because of the price. Lol I also saw a book entitled, "Zombies and Stupid People" or something like that. Haha

It was a typical thursday night, there aren't much people in the restaurant so it was peaceful While we're here. Few minutes later, our orders arrived and we were shocked that the serving is actually good for sharing. But, I managed to finished all of my pesto alone. 12851710084️ I am that hungry, plus he doesnt like pesto much.

My pesto pasta tasted good, plus the serving for its price is really worth it.

We wanted to order hot tea but they don't serve hot tea so we just finished our food and left to find a tea cafe.

Oh, I'll def come back here for their breakfast menu. 128587🏼

It was the kind of Wednesday that made me crave for escape, that much needed hiding out from my office computer, my pile of to-do-lists, my tired workmates and my a bit needy boss. It was the kind of Wednesday that made me willing to do anything just to have someone to hang out with, sit down, eat whatever there is and just talk about some other things in this life. And indeed, God is always good, He has His ways!

My BFF was supposed to go to Makati for a client meeting. She was literally on the roads of C5 to EDSA when she decided to escape, too, due to the wild and dreadful traffic in front of her. She then bugged me, the bugging I usually like, to get out from work as early as I could, sending me emojis and emoticons that my phone couldn't event understand, calling me while I was discussing with my boss, and just making me more excited to get out of the office!

Sadly, I needed to render an hour of overtime for a trade project that has a due. She was about to leave and see her boyfriend instead but my pleading charms worked. It's 7PM and time to go out and about yay!

As she was tasked to fetch her boyfriend at Timog, we were supposed to eat at Octoboy. Having Jap food for the past few days, I told her if we could pass for the night and try one cafe/resto/arts shop that I've always wanted to visit along Addition Hills. Being the game that she is, we went to CO/OP weee!

After all the wrong turns, Google map consultations and repetitive statement of "Nagugutom na ako!", we've finally arrived and was greeted by a courteous and helpful security guard and loads of parking space!

Their stone-filled entrance pathway is accentuated by huge growing trees that are lighted from within. From the parking area, you'll see an almost wooden-glassy house like shop that's inviting in all its sense. Hanged vertically is the store's name, lighted from underneath.

Before entering the main door, you'll be greeted by wooden letters that spell out MANILA, an identifier of the branch's location and most definitely a photo opp area for guests especially during daytime. With its glass walls at the frontline area, you'll be able to see a glimpse of what to expect once you enter. And yes, this isn't your typical table and chairs dine-in restaurant.

Once you enter, you'll be greeted by servers from the counter, welcoming you to the place. We were there at around 7:30PM and there were groups of two to four customers seated. Just as how excited we were to eat, we were able to forgot our "hanger", that state of being angry when you're hungry, when we saw loads of cute stuff that were as tempting as their cakes! Aaaah!

Half of the space stood display areas for a variety of artsy and cutesy items that were for sale.

High school and college students will love their colorfully designed and glittered journals with quotations like "Adventure Awaits" and "The Best Is Yet to Begin" and more were everywhere. There were metallic folders in neon colors with words like BFF and signs like #, the type that you'll buy because you fell in love with the color matched with the metallic platings! My BFF and I love such stuff and we found it hard to not buy them because of priorities, ooh! Kids and kids at heart will definitely like their cartoonish and kiddie yet what adults like type of gift wrappers were displayed in a wooden rack. For the little ones, knitted, fat plush toys in different pastel colors were displayed in a bag rack making me think that initially they're bags but when I held them, they're pure softness, for display only. They have a lot of house, office, resto, whatever space you have interior decors including cardboard puzzle pieces which let you create different types of items (trees, buildings, etc.), enlarged jackstones, felt paper animal cut-outs, variety of little cactuses and greeneries in cute pails, pots, bowls and acrylic bowls that will make you want to take them home and just stare at to. For mommies, they have an area for out-of-the-box looking kitchen stuff including a glass upside down ice cream cone in a saucer which can be used as a candy holder, a duck's body divided with a saucer in between that is meant to hold a cake, collectible, ceramic Star Wars coffee, cream and sugar containers. For the bag lovers, they have a variety of bags made from different items like canvass and felt paper. There was this red shoulder bag made of what looked like felt paper material and when we touched it, the actual curved designs were holes that let you peek inside the bag, probably a way to freshen the bag, and I really liked it! I even asked my BFF to do create something like that for her shop. They also have this orange sofa filled with loads of pillows that have colorful cases with shapes and geometric figure designs that are really eye-catching. Displayed on their walls are a variety of paintings, artworks, framed quotations and wall decors that you'll surely find interest in. My favorites were the colorful, hipster looking owl paintings that give such liveliness to their brick walls. There were mini canvass background paintings that were made from watercolor, distinctively unique because there were lego blocks pasted on it. There were letter cut-outs made of wood and painted that serve as nice wall accents. And yes, there were lots more to see. I could go on and on describing every little item but let's just save some for you to see for yourself! The items cost at around P500 and above, quite expensive but really nice looking especially for those in love with all kinds of art.

The store's interiors reminded me of a pad in the movie Friends With Benefits. It's brick walls accentuated with eccentric pieces make it really visually pleasing to the eye. The ceilings were accentuated with spotlights, giving the place a touch of film and theater vibes with its positioning. The furnitures were dominantly light blue in color, with couches positioned beside the walls and round tables paired with light blue picnic looking chairs that can really sit you comfortably.

And now, it's food tasting time! Their breakfast is served from 7:30-11AM only so even if we instantly taught of ordering tapa, we might have to come back during daytime. Their mini counter showcased the menu in the usual blackboard type execution, items written with colorful chalk boards. Their table menus were printed in brown paper giving the feel of organic. They have a mini counter display of the cakes, too. Amongst the list of their menu items are appetizers including Nachos, Onion Rings, etc. They have a variety pasta flavors from Pesto, Carbonara, Mac 'N Cheese, Arabiatta, etc. They have pork, chicken and beef rice meals to choose from. Different cake flavors also await you - Red Velvet, Chocolate, Coffee Creme Crepe - along with bars, brownies and cookies.

So, for our orders, we chose one appetizer, CHEESE TOTS (P210), one pasta, MAC 'N CHEESE (P370) and one cake, the SALTED CARAMEL CHEESECAKE (P150). We ate all these for sharing.

Initially, I taught that the Cheese Tots were pure mozarella cheese in sticks but after I sliced it, it has mashed potatoes inside, filled with cheese at the middle. The outer, fried portion wasn't too oily, crispy enough that balanced well with the mushiness of the potatoes inside. The creamy and filling mozzarella sticks in it were good enough to give it a hint of saltiness. I just wished they have some chili powder for customers like me who appreciate a kick of spiciness in their dishes.

The Mac 'N Cheese came in a medium sized bowl. Instantly looking at it, we both taught that the serving isn't good for two, but when we dug in and took our portions, oh, it was really filling! The macaroni in medium size were cooked right enough, a but chewy though. The sauce was really, really creamy. Imaging the milkiness of cream and loads of sticky, gooey cheese on top? The creaminess can be so powerful so I opted to add some pepper/hot sauce on top to have that spicy taste.

The Salted Caramel Cheesecake came in last for our dessert. Yes, cheese again! Its crust was crunchy and tasty enough, combined well with the balanced cheesiness of the center of the cake, even yummier with the salted caramel syrup on top plus the whipped, creamy frosting. I am not a fan of cheesecakes so I cannot really say if this is better than the others but the taste didn't made me want to vomit after because of super creaminess and cheesiness altogether.

Overall, we enjoyed our cheesy Wednesdate, its just that we should have ordered a pasta that's tomato based because when we saw the orders of the customers from the other tables, they also looked really yummy and actually with larger servings than the Mac 'N Cheese. Their salads and sandwiches looked really big too! For the items prices', they're all good for sharing too.

So yes, this place is another gem that could be even more developed as the vacant space on their left side serves as a pop-up store, probably for the owners of the items which are sold inside the store itself. And more than that, families, friends, officemates, couples, etc. can really find relaxation, comfort and style in this really welcoming and casual ambiance. For date nights, gatherings and meetings, surprise birthday parties, even baby showers, whatever type of event there is, this can be the place for you!

This place is just adorable! A gift shop and food cafe in one place 128156 The huge Co/op sign outside is eye catching and welcoming...Huge doors lead inside where the counter is, Pay as you order the sign says, the glass facade gives off a warm classy log cabin feel and the place is brightly lit, clean & spacious, Cute artwork adorn the brick walls, half the place serves as the dining area and the other half is the gift shop that sells knick knacks, art, books, cushions, novelty items etc..128525

Friendly and helpful staff at the counter! They suggested items for us to try and showed us pictures of the food as well! 128079🏼128079🏼128079🏼

Here's what we tried 128055

- Caesar Salad @280 - the double smoked bacon 128055 & shaved Parmesan with yummy dressing 128077🏼

- Shrimp Diablo Pasta @370 - Linguini with spicy shrimp and roasted garlic sauce. My sister seemed to love this 128514 a lot!

- Chunky Corned Beef - forgot the price 128513 but it was around 300ish or thereabouts, I didn't like this one much, the corned beef was tasty but not tender 128533 nicely presented though.

- Coffee Crepe Cake @160 128070🏼- I liked that it was not too sweet but the layers were a bit thick for me. Overall pretty tasty still and paired nicely with a cuppa of joe 128077🏼

Cozy and lovely place really! A bit expensive but the ambiance makes it all worthwhile 128522 Definitely coming back 128536

Trying it for lunch this time, I ordered their Beef Brisket sandwich. I'm more of a rice person so this sandwich is a bit of a risk. Hehe. My order came in around 10-15 minutes and the serving a bit huge. It came in two sandwiches with two sides - a small serving of salad and sweet potato fries. The bread was toasted just right while the beef was okay. Not sure if the beef was really "chewy" or I'm just having a hard time biting it since I have braces. The sauce that came with it was a bit oily and it immediately gave me that umay feeling so I only tried it once. The beef was already yummy without it so it was fine. Despite the meat being hard to chew, I was able to finish the sandwiches but not the sides. I'm happy that I didn't get hungry that afternoon so I can really say that my tummy's satisfied with the meal.

We also ordered a slice of their coffee crepe cake to share. It took them 5-10 minutes to serve it because they had to style the plate. Wasn't able to take a photo because everyone's excited to dig in. As expected, the cake wasn't sweet. I enjoyed the caramelized part on top though.

Upon entering, I immediately got that hipster vibe because of the wall decor and the stuff for sale. My cousins and I ordered the clubhouse sandwich, mac and cheese, homemade iced tea and a cup of cappuccino but I wasn't able to taste all. Their food servings are big and enough for four people having merienda. The mac and cheese tasted good; the cheese did not gave me that umay feeling while munching on it. Good job also on taking note to put the bacon bits of the mac and cheese cos my cousin and I will share it and she doesn't eat pork. The homemade iced tea wasn't super special.

The interiors of the place were quirky and intriguing. It's nice also to showcase these thru their store inside. The store display is actually a good way for their customers to kill time while waiting for the orders. The stuff on sale were mostly books and novelty items but the boys still had fun playing around with it. I also like how the place is kept clean and neat - even the bathroom.
