The Coral cafe of Henann resort will make your cravings satisfied. They provide a buffet of sumptuous food you can choose from. They also serve fresh seafoods. Their take on dimsum is a knockout. Prices af a buffet dinner or lunch is cheaper compared to some hotel restaurants out there yet the food is so deliciously and freshly prepared for your palate. #loolooexplorerpackgiveaway

The Coral Cafe is the in-house restaurant of the new luxury beach front resort in Panglao called Henann Resort Bohol. The cafe offers buffet dining for main meals (Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner) and ala cart options for room service and dining amongst the resort's pool side, clubhouse, and beachside facilities.

Our accommodation at the resort included free breakfast buffet during our stay. We were also given a complimentary dinner buffet as part of their soft opening.

What I liked about their buffet service was the abundant choices of appetizers and main dishes lined along various food stations. There were noteworthy dishes that I truly enjoyed.

From their Dinner Buffet, the seafood dishes were quite notably fresh and tasty. I particularly loved their Crab and Fish in Saffron Sauce. Their Jackfish Ceviche was also yummy. The bbq meats (chicken , pork) were flavorful, tender, and nicely grilled. The bread and rolls tasted freshly baked and good ( I loved their Spanish Bread). The appetizer station offered nicely plated choices ( i loved their Bacon Wrapped Squid Balls, Avocado Tomato Bruschetta , and Pinsec Frito). I liked the fact that they had a pasta station (have them cook pasta your way) and a Soup station (fresh seafoods cooked in broth options--sinigang, tinola, laksa). The downside was that a lot of their beef dishes were too tough to the chew. While the beef dishes (particularly the Beef Stew and Roast Beef) were nicely seasoned and flavorful, the texture was overcooked or the quality of meat was not good. The pastry selection was "meh". They only served mini tea cakes that tasted otherwise ordinary.

Since the cafe was on soft opening, in house guests were given a free dinner buffet coupon. Succeeding meals only cost php 250. The buffet dining was also open to non-resort guests with a 40% discount.

Just like any new establishment, there were areas that needed improvement. Because the place was new, it was packed with resort guests and non-resort diners. The cafe didn't accept reservations thus there was a long queue. The huge influx of diners made servers seemed overwhelmed. Cleaning tables of used plates and utensils took some time. Requests for beverages also took time. The good thing was that the kitchen was quick in refilling the emptied chafing dishes.

The Breakfast buffet dining experience on the other hand was more pleasant. The selections of dishes were also abundant ranging from Filipino, Asian, and Western breakfast options . With dining crowd mostly consisting of in-house resort guests, the place was less frenzied. Quite notable were some of their dishes that I loved. Their freshly baked breads (particularly their Cheese covered Spanish Bread, Ensaymada, and Banana Bread), corned beef, home made Pineapple Ham (a whole rack of tender and flavorful ham that tasted a cross between hamonado, Chinese ham, and tocino), and their fluffy pancakes.

Since Coral Cafe also caters to dining in the resort's other common facilities, I tried their Clubhouse Sandwich while enjoying the beach and sunning under one of their umbrella covered beach side lounge chairs. I must say that their Clubhouse Sandwich was very good. The whole grain bread slices was seemingly home made and not commercially bought. It was stuffed with the same delicious Pineapple Ham that I loved from their breakfast buffet, bacon, and semi-soft poached egg. The sandwich itself was huge and was made more filling with a side of home made herbed potato chips and salad greens. Not bad for just 260. It went well with a huge glass of fresh mango shake.

Coral Cafe certainly adds to the good dining spots along the Alona Beach stretch of Panglao, Bohol. If by chance some of you would be in the area at this time, I highly recommend that you avail of their soft opening promo buffet rates (I recall the promo price runs until end of May 2015) .
