I love the way the place is designed and the staff are helpful. The food is delicious. Downside is poor celphone signal. But hey, you get your rest from work.

Pictured above is the plunge pool in 1 of their villas. The villa we were upgraded in. Ugh. Felt like hitting a jackpot with this 1! I didn't even do a thing to deserve such an upgrade! They just gave it to us in a surpise. (Although, I assumed they ran out of standard rooms that they decided to give us a villla. But who's complaining?)

Their service is really amazing here. They have the ultimate kid-friendly place in Mactan. I know so as I was toting a toddler and a babe at the time.

The breakfast buffet though, felt like tailored for Koreans. Must be because 90% of the guests are Koreans.

I've never been a beach person till this year when I explored Coron and Bantayan Island. I must say, these places turned me into a sun and sand lover. And just before heading back to Manila during our Cebu trip, we decided to spend our last night in Crimson Resort and Spa, Mactan.

It was a long trip from Batayan Island to Crimson Resort and Spa, Mactan. We were tired and sticky (and yeah, stinky too) from the hot ferry ride and long, packed bus trip. We also had to take a cab from the bus terminal and took us around half an hour to reach the resort. It sounds exhausting right? But the weariness disappeared upon reaching Crimson.

The huge lobby had nice and warm wooden interiors. It also had a massive sungka near the reception to keep the guests entertained while waiting to be checked in or out. The view from the lobby was lovely too as it oversees the whole resort and the beach. I fell in love with that wonderful view.

Upon reaching the reception desk, we were given refreshing welcome drinks that had a hint of pandan. It was such a treat as it was extremely hot that day.

After verifying our documents, we were handed our room cards and headed to our rooms which was a bit of walk of what seemed to be a maze. The resort is really big but you won't get lost as each corner has directional signage.

And as soon as we opened our room door... I felt relaxed.

Fluffy big bed, more than ample floor space, huge bathroom... what's not to love?

I loved the bathroom best. A bathtub is situated in the middle which is also the first thing you'll see when you open the French door leading to the bathroom.

The bathroom is also equipped with shower area with glass enclosure and a lengthy sink and counter to help you be picture perfect for the beach.

As for the pool, it looks huge but since the place was packed when we visited, it felt a lot smaller.

There are two pools if I remember it correctly. One is for wadding and perfect for kids and another is around 4 feet deep. It also oversees the beach front.

Beside the pool area is a playground for kids who opt to stay dry.

What's interesting with this resort is that there are pool activities every hour or even half an hour! We tried Aqua Zumba which was very entertaining and I have to admit, a bit of a workout.

In the afternoon, we decided to lounge near the beach since it's only open till 5 or 6 pm. (We went back the following morning and swam with several aquatic friends. So make sure you bring goggles as it is quite a sight!)

We also enjoyed Happy Hour where some drinks are 50% off. (The mango shake we ordered though were sour.) But the tuna tataki (Php220) was something else! Feasting on that delectable dish while watching the dark blue sky and peaceful sea was a perfect combination. And I miss it a lot!

I highly recommend Crimson Resort and Spa, Mactan. There are a lot of things to do there aside from swimming and basking under the sun. With its facilities such as gym, play area and bars as well as various activities, you'll sure enjoy it here!

Chose to go to this place for our anniversary trip, we haven't been to Cebu for a vacation since it was always a business trip.

The resort itself is along the Mactan shore with the rest of the other resorts. We took the garden room since we didn't want the pool by the room anymore. Nice room with a very spacious wash area. You have your own tub and a shower area on the corner.

Different dining options, most of our meals was in the Azure Beach Club since we wanted the grilled seafood options. Food is pretty pricey, but it was kind of expected since local folks are outnumbered by Korean and Japanese guests maybe 1:8. I'll do a different review of the meal later.

The pool is a 3 layer infinity pool, kiddie pool up top cascading down. The "beach" isn't really one since it's rocky but that's to be expected too in Mactan. Service is really good, greetings abound and the place is maintained well. Over-all, nice place and great food!

Since it’s Thursday, time for a throwback post! Okay, I just missed out on this entry which truly deserves to be posted.

Hello, Crimson Resort and Spa Mactan! (Whew, that’s a mouthful!)

It was quite a trip from Bantayan Island to Crimson, Mactan. It took us roughly 4 hours just to go back to Cebu City and another 40 minutes or so to Mactan. We were weary from the hot ferry ride and crowded bus trip. And we were famished too since we skipped lunch. But this made us look forward to our stay. True enough, we were so delighted to see our room and the spacious bathroom (which was 6 times bigger than the bathroom in Kota Beach, Bantayan Island).

After freshening up a bit, we decided to head down to the beach area but sadly, it was already closed. So we just took a quick dip in the crowded pool (there was a Korean-Chinese event during our stay and the resort was PACKED).

While lounging, our tummies reminded us that we haven’t had a meal since 10am. And since it was happy hour, R and I ordered Mango Shake (I recall it was around PHP150 per glass) and a plate of Tuna Tataki (PHP220).

The mango shake was sour. Perhaps it was no longer in season. We also noticed the shortage of buko in the island. Bananas too! We heard that a huge company bought most of these fruits hence the shortage.

The Tuna Tataki was noteworthy though. The seared black pepper crusted tuna loin was so delectable. And I didn’t mind dipping it in the spicy Gochujang miso sauce. I also enjoyed the herring roe. Oh looooove.~~~ <3

I will definitely try the other dishes on my next visit to Crimson Mactan.

Why i liked it:

-three tier infinity pool
-very nice room (deluxe garden)
-very comfy bed and pillows
-very hospitable staff
-breathtaking view from the Azure Bar
-had my beach wedding here 2 yrs ago

Why i gave 4 stars only:

-the seashore was rocky
-crowd was too noisy
-limited options in the buffet breakfast
-they are limiting the bacon. It's actually hidden behind the egg station and they wont offer it until you ask for it.

Rooms are big and tidy. Better for families with young children. However prices are expensive. Minimum 800 per head per meal

It's beautiful here... But I missed the privacy & exclusivity I had back in abaca... Once again ... Many people shouting oppa & omma.... Grrrrr..... Was here for more quiet time .... Oh we'll hook up with my ear phones & try to enjoy the music instead ....

Interior is really nice .... Like I'm transported to shangrila bora ... Haha... So funny everywhere everyone copies Shangrila ... Oh well...

Some shots I've got ... They hv this ritual at night ... Like an offering of some sort by the sea.... A little performance to welcome the guest to Crimson

Place is big ... 200+ rooms & more villas .... The 3 tiered infinity pool is a nice feature of the resort ... They even hv massage by the pool overlooking the beach... By hey ... I'll prefer to hv my massage in the privacy of the spa... Lol

It's really great to have friends who happens to have a friend in a resort or hotel because you get invited and you get to enjoy the perks given to your friend. Hahaha.

While my friend was talking to her friend about our wonderful experience, we went ahead and passed by this sweet haven of delicious goodies, Crimson Pastry.

I love the ensaymada and the banana loaf. I was literally hoarding breads for pasalubong. Hahaha. I am not sure though if it was on a daily basis but they have a price cut off as they are about to close. Ahh sweet! Hahaha.

It's a known fact that resorts do not have pools you can swim laps in but Crimson boasts of a 25 meter infinity pool, hard part is there is no black line to follow. 128533

The resort is pleasing and i had an efficient team I enjoyed speaking with. They had a director of fun, camown! You say fun, i say fun-ner! That didn't make sense. But who has a director of fun? I wanna be a director of Fun!!

I found the place quite serene, but since i'm used to exclusivity for these conferences, it just didn't feel like ours. I tried jet skiing and i have to say that the view of the Cebu beach front was something worth remembering. It may not be up to par to other breathtaking views but this was good enough. Weather also cooperated, so all we saw was clear skies and white fluffy clouds. It's nice to bask in this weather but i can't help but gravitate towards water.

Breakfast food was very good, they had danggit everyday which was a pleasant treat! Lunch and dinners were pretty good but I wasn't able to indulge as much.

Would I go back? Maybe, but there are so much more places to explore!!

A luxury resort where you can just lounge either by the beach or by their 3-tiered pool. The staff is polite and accommodating. For a pricey hotel though, I was surprised to see a lot of guests. For a moment there I thought I was in Korea because they're in every nook of the resort.

We're trying the spa this afternoon, so let's see if I need another review for that..

Wait, wait, wait!!! Take two please!128513128513128513

Medyo na-over excite ata ako, plus na-sobrahan sa init kahapon... I gave this place 5 stars, comparing it to the last 3 resorts/hotels I've stayed in this year. I think that was too hasty, so this is my pambawi review... 110881108811088️ + 1108811088110881108811088️/2= 411088️s!!! Shucks sana na-get nyo kasi ang gulo ko... Basta I'm giving it 3 stars now to offset my previous review of 5 stars... Bawi bawi pag may time...128540128540128540

Don't get me wrong, maganda yung place! Great cottages, great staff, super nice infinity pool! But I think I was forgetting the other resorts in the area that are world class... If Shang Mactan/Abaca are at the top, this resort would be a notch below Plantation Bay pa...128540 masyado namang unfair sa iba! Meh ganun?! 128513 kasi naman ang nasa isip ko ay yung place na pinuntahan namin sa Puerto Princesa... C'mon man, snap out of it!!!128563

First, I have to say that it's so far away from the highway... I thought it would be near Shang and Movenpick, but it was not the case. Liblib much ang peg... We were rushing from Cebu, because we were kinda late checking out from Crown... Sooooo, mega pressure on Kuya driver na parinig ng parinig about his tip... Na-get naman namin after, kasi nga anglayo hassayo.... 128662128662128662

Pagbaba namin, parang sobrang energetic naman ng mga nag-greet samin! Ang saya man! Di ko ma-enjoy agad yung view kasi ang daming tanong! They led us to the beautiful hacienda inspired lobby, with a huge four part sungka bench... Yup that's right! Sungka bench, as in upuan and sungka in one! The receptionist was kind of lost, parang ulit-ulit yung tanong nya about our reservations, that I thought we weren't going to be able to stay... Nakapag-drama na ako sa utak ko ng maglulupasay ako sa beach (yes, kailangan sa beach maglupasay, para may dating), bago pa nila sabihin na ayos na... Sheesh! Ang bilis ko ma-stress ha!128514

We were led to our room, but seriously I was too excited to appreciate it when we got there... I was already changing into beach attire...128089127746128083 hello beach, hello pool!128522128522128522 I beelined for the beach and claimed a lounger while my bf started swimming in the beach... 127946 Corny ko daw despite my excitement... But doing nothing is an art, so I was practicing an art form...127744 after a while, he came back, sugatan from the ocean floor... So warning, the shallow part of the beach is kind of rocky!!! Wear beach shoes!!!128096 128098128097 because of this incident, we decided to just sleep on the lounge chairs, shaded by the big white beach umbrellas...

We eventually moved to the pool... It's a three-tiered infinity pool with a magnificent ocean view!!!10084️ I fell in love! It was such a beach-y atmosphere, with music blaring from the speakers...127911127926 But wait, what's happening? There were so many foreigners! And a lot were wearing jackets or leggings or full body gear as they swam in the pool... As in guys, naka-jacket na lumalangoy... C'mon man! Buti walang naka-necktie128084127946128084 weird lang, may naka-thong pero may balot na balot... Gulo! Plus I felt so out of place because a lot of people brought floaty toys and salbabidas--that includes the adults! What is salbabida English? Question lang... I was already plotting to "borrow" one that was not being used, pinigilan lang ako...128544128557128517

We spent most of our stay by the pool or in the pool or taking pics of the pool... We wanted to swim as much as possible!128522 note that you can have a massage poolside- they have a cabana available just for that... But I just indulged in a massage the night before, so exag na ako kung isa pa...128540

There weren't that many people in the resort at the time, according to the staff... But it still felt like there were a lot of people since the place was kind of small... Other than the small beach and the pool, there is a kid's activity center and a gym as well... Btw, the gym had top of the line equipment! As in ang taray ng treadmill nila, bawat isa may mounted na TV... But we weren't able to enjoy the gym anymore, due to time constraints...128532 they also have fitness activities, like yoga classes, for the guests... We weren't able to join those as well...

I just have to say, the staff were very well-trained, very courteous, and happy people! Who wouldn't be happy if you work here, basking in the sunshine everyday?972897289728️ They aim to please, lemme just say... Excellent food and service! I'll review their cafe too...

You really pay for the service! The price of our 3 night stay at Crown Regency (with a lot of inclusions already) is equivalent to an overnight stay at Crimson! 128561

But I have to say that I felt so relaxed when I was staying there... I was very happy and content there... Plus the sunshine really does a number on you!128516128079128077

Would I come back? Honestly, maybe not... I like trying new places, so maybe Movenpick or Abaca next... And I would also prefer to come back to Shang or Plantation Bay, but I have no regrets about our stay here...128516128513128522

P.S. I think bangag pa ako ng sobra sobra kaya no more reviews muna!!!128540

It's such a great place for R&R. Especially the beach view from the infinity pool! Also, the Saffron Cafe's the bomb! Try their Tuna Mozzarella! The whole place's a WiFi Zone, so you could still surf the internet wherever you are (even in the comfort rooms)!

I told myself the moment I stepped into this hotel "Shangri-la Boracay vibe with Discovery Shores service!" Its not a bad thing though, i found it really weird that they have copied SLBOracay's interiors and exteriors and Discovery's way of greeting guests with palm on their chest.

Sana naging original sila. :(

Amenities are good and staff were always ready to assist! :) mahal nga lang the food so buti we had baon and also went grocery shopping for some fruits and light snacks at a nearby Savemore.

TIP: bring water, bottled drinks, some baon like fruits, snacks etc to bring to the beach as their food is really expensive. Like OA expensive!! Also bring with you a little bit more patience cause there are a lot of noisy Koreans 128534
