to cap the year, we decided to spend the night at the crown regency hotel in makati.

i was able to get us a standard room for 2700 from agoda. Upon arrival we were informed that all standard rooms were occupied so we were transferred to their superior room.( I checked and it costs 4100) talk about luck!

The place was old and might require a few splashes of fresh paint, the bedsheets were stained and the room was musky, like an old library. they have the standard amenities like complimentary water, coffee and tea, towels and toiletries, slippers, a small ref and TV. Unlike in nobutel, you can bring your hard drive and watch movie on the TV. by the way, the wifi was fine but it's slower compared to other hotels i've stayed in

everything is alright EXCEPT the bathroom. NO BIDET! ugh!

the hotel was literally beside SM, so instead of dining in, we just bought food from the mall then we ate at our room.

their buffet breakfast was ordinary, they have tocino, chicken adobo, spanish sardines, fried and steamed rice, fruit salad( im pretty sure it's todays fruit cocktail) . Fancy that they made us bacon omellete.

the service was adorable, everyone was nice and approachable although we had to follow up for the room service and housekeeping. But all in all, they were nice.

as for the value for money, being that we were upgraded, i cant complain about it.

will i go back here again?

maybe i'll try other hotels near the vicinity for now

First thing I noticed in the hotel is that it looks old; the dark-colored furniture, antique decors, faint orange lighting, and the building's facade in badly need of a repaint job. It's a four-story building that looks small and lonely compared to the hotel siting across the street, Dusit Thani.

The room though was decent and clean. First thing I liked about it, it has a huge closet. There are complementary coffee for guests.

This is how it looks the moment you step into the room. There's a huge mirror in the bathroom and the table sink is also big.

What I loved most about it is the bath tub! I got a confession to make, before this, I've never in my life, bathed in a bath tub. One of the things that I want to have in my future house is a friggin' bath tub, that's how bad I want it, so imagine my excitement when I discovered it. First night in the hotel, I soaked myself in that tub like they do in the movies, full of bubbles and a good book in hand.

The room has a flat-screen TV with cable. And there's the queen size bed. The bed is flanked by two side tables. The room was almost perfect except for four things:

1. The bath tub doubles as the shower area.
2. The toilet has no bidet and no dipper (tabo) in sight. So imagine how hard it is to wash your fanny after doing your business. True there is a bath tub, but can you really stand the thought of washing your tush in the same place, which you fill with water to soak yourself in? That's totally unhygienic (we did call them to ask for a dipper but to no avail so I ended up buying one).
3. There is a blow dryer, but it stops working every so often.
4. The hotel staff knew that there were two of us, yet they only provided toiletries for one person.

Crown Regency is not perfect, but I would still give it a three out of five. For what it's worth, we had a decent room and our stay wasn't entirely bad. For this stay, we paid over PHP8,000 through Agoda.

This branch is nothing like the one in Cebu, definitely. We've been members of this hotel chain for quite some time now and we've accumulated a ton of coupons and stuff like that. That's pretty nifty although I would love to spend those in Cebu rather than in this branch.

It's not bad here it's just not as good as the one in Cebu. It's pretty small too. The people are very nice though and there's a Mini Stop beside the building so that's pretty convenient. Also, it's very near Makati Ave so dining, bars and entertainment is just around the corner, literally. But the hotel itself is just good for sleeping and bathing. Not much amenities but I understand since the life in Makati is supposed to be outside anyway.

Thread count is pretty high and heavenly. A good night's sleep all the time. 128076
