Super love this resto! The interiors are nice, food is great and service is excellent. We had the entire resto to ourselves so it felt like we had the place closed just for us 128522. Loved their crab cake, gumbo soup, 900 gms Angus steak, black truffle risotto and sauces.

spanish red crianza, australian wagyu and us rib rye 12 oz. Special tip : On steak size, 12 oz is to big for one person suggest you go for 10 oz. Unique loaf bread - 3 types with butter and blue cheese spread. Onion soup with four sides- ask for the best sellers sides. mushroom, risoto, truffle mac cheese.

My cousin is addicted to cru. He comes here on bad days and stressful ones to eat and drink his stresses out. Can you imagine how he is on a good day? I could and I did. We got invited to celebrate his birthday here and this was amaaaaazing!!

Upon entering, you have that vibe of a classy steakhouse - all dim and bright in the right places, the heavy set furniture upholstered with textured fabric, the reddish color of the place that reminds you of how bloody a steak can be and how good it's going to be (sorry, vegetarians out there, this is a MUST-NOT read for you), and how you think Don Vito is going to make an appearance at one of the tables or at the hallway to a closed off room. OK, that was wrong, this wasn't creepy at all. We were seated at a round table for eight, beside the area where they cooked the steaks. We could see them stacked right behind us. I liked that this restaurant has a high ceiling and that there was no funky smell given the feel.

After being comfortably seated, we were given three trays of rolls. These soft rolls were flavored - pumpkin, pesto and the plain ones. Choose cheese or garlic butter to compliment your bread. I loved the plain ones, they are soft and fluffy and easy to chew while conversing and deciding on your orders.

For appetizers, we shared:

Salmon Tartare - they mix it to your liking, more salt, more sauce, less this, less that. I'm glad I did not have to make that decision but this was a good "abre gana" in my lola's words - Appetizer.

My cousin indulged me since he knew I loved scallops so he ordered more of the Seared Scallops. I have a scallops story in my head which isn't a good one but it doesn't stop me from eating this. The serving is four pieces of perfectly seared bivalves sitting on a bed of Hollandaise sauce. It was accompanied by something crunchy - very kropek like, twas a good complement to the softness of the scallop.

Since it was my first time to dine here with my brother, we had to study the menu more. My cousin was gracious enough to tell us what they'd usually have. Was it weird to split a steak, I may not be the biggest fan of steak but I can say that I do enjoy a good one. My brother and I split a 350g US Certified Angus Beef Prime rib eye steak. This baby comes with two sides of your choice and a sauce. Thank goodness that we both like our steaks done medium rare. Me being a carb person, ordered four sides. My cousins recommended the following sides:

1. Truffle mac and cheese - Then there was cheese! It was stringy and delightful! It tasted NOTHING like those ordinary mac and cheese ones that claim to be authentic. This was just WOW!

2. Grilled portobello mushrooms - this was my favorite! Most of my cousins kept saying it was too sweet, it wasn't. It was awesome! The mushrooms were cooked well that they were very tender and flavorful. If these are the kinds of mushrooms a vegetarian would eat, they would NEVER go back to meat. Fortunately for me, I like them as sides even if they are meatier.

3. Black truffle risotto - Although this side found its place in a throne on my stomach, I would skip this next time. It is filling and rich and glorious!

4. Onion rings - A girl's gotta have her crunch. I know, it's still a vegetable and it's fried but it was fried good. The batter was OK but nothing memorable.

Given the chance, I would create a side sampler menu for this. Then keep ordering them for days. ;P These side dishes make some main dishes in other restaurants completely embarrassed!

So then it came, then we saw and then we conquered. The steak was here and it had polenta on the side. I had less than a half of the steak as I was too focused on the side dishes. The flavor on this meat was extremely amazing. I savored each bite. Oh, this wasn't a chew and swallow kind of meal. It was a chew and taste and chew and your pupils enlarge and then chew some more and then make yummy sounds and then swallow kind of experience. This was magnificent! It wasn't bloody but it was red, it was prepared absolutely well that I would want to shake the hand of that chef. The steak was seasoned properly, all it needed was some sauce to complement it (ooh that mustard helps too). It took me a while to finish my steak. While I had a few slices left, my tito starts looking at me and gives me half of his steak. I did not say no to that, but I was very happy with the portion I had. My brother just cleaned and cleared his plate, before I knew it, my tita was offering half of hers as well. Woah, we so got more than we bargained for. This night was not going to end early!

Two bottles of wine helped push our steaks in, there were also two vanilla milkshakes ordered. Rich and thick but NOT sweet these shakes were.

A small cake was prepped for my cousin by cru. Sweet! But we had no more room for this and took it out. What.an.experience. And I wasn't fond of steaks, well I'm chucking that out the window now! Yes, I will go back. I want to go back.

P.S. No photo of the meat. You can use your imagination.

Loved the steaks! Forget the sides though, they were just typical. We stayed at one of the private rooms and service was just satisfactory and can be improved. I'm unable to upload photos, maybe I need to update this app.

We often went here for celebration like birthday or anniversary.

The place, in my opinion, is a little dark. It seems like a vampire den. The seats are comfortable. The nice thing about its interior is the kitchen that shows you how the steaks are done.

The food is phenomenal! The steak is great and unforgettable. This is so far the best steakhouse I've visited. They have a huge collection of wine too.

The attire should be smart casual. It is better to dress up. Dressing up is fun!

Price quality for the food is, let's just say, above average. You can spend 5000- up for 2 people: with 2 glasses of wine and 2 main course.

This is for special occasion type of restaurant.

The 3-Course dinner included a trio of bread, amuse bouche, steak and dessert. (SET A P3,300+)

The breadboard was served with 3 types of bread: Parmesan, Spinach and Tomato with Pesto Butter and Goat Cheese.

For our Amuse Bouche, we had Boneless Chicken Wing with Pineapple Salsa. Followed by a pretty Spinach Salad. The fresh spinach was exquisitely rolled into a crispy parmesan basket with Bleu cheese, walnuts, orange and cherry tomato around it and drizzled with light mustard dressing.

And the main dish – Grilled Certified Angus Beef USDA Prime Ribeye (250g)! Each bite of the prime ribeye melted in my mouth so wonderfully! This house specialty has just the right amount of marbling. Unbelievably juicy, pliant and smoky – everything that you’d want in a steak. The sauce was good but I actually did not have to use it on my steak. I didn’t even need the Truffle Mustard sauce even if it tasted heavenly.

For our sides, there was Potato & Onion Gratin and Grilled Portobello Mushroom both served in an iron-cast pot.

Our romantic anniversary dinner ended with a White Chocolate Cheesecake with Mango Ice Cream.

After dining at Cru, you’ll immediately understand why some a good number of people splurge just to dine there. Service is exemplary, the wait staff is competent, accommodating and knowledgeable when it comes to the dishes that they offer and serve. 128077

Prepare your wallets! The steak is heaven! Tender and juicy with every bite. Medium well is how i like it and it was on point. Just a little redness towards the middle.

The halibut with baby octopus was also a winner. Very tasty and worth every bite. The onion soup however was so so. I would not recommend that soup and the price for it is a whopping 400 pesos. The serving size was minimal too.

Overall this fancy steakhouse is definitely a winner. Service was exceptional. Great ambiance and date place.

Foodgasm on a plate! Complimentary bread (parmesan, spinach and tomato bread) brought to your table warm and fresh from the oven with herb butter and blue cheese. Wonderful start! Ordered the striploin medium with asparagus and truffle mushroom risotto. The steak didn't need any more sauce or enhancements. Perfectly prepared and juicy. The risotto was so creamy and tasty you can't stop eating it. Also ordered the seared sea bass on top of a warm crab salad. Super juicy and well-cooked bass. It still had the crispy skin on. Very rich flavors. The crab salad had a wonderful taste and you can actually taste and feel the texture of the crab meat. To end the meal, the coup de grace was the sweet and salty layered chocolate cake served with chocolate ice cream. One dining experience you shan't easily forget. Coming back soon!

The wife and I decided to try what some say is "the best steak in the country." Here are my thoughts on Marriott Hotel's Cru Steakhouse.

Ambiance 9/10
- when my wife made a reservation, she was told that attire was smart casual. After seeing the classy modern interiors, I can see why shorts and slippers would be inappropriate. Wear a t-shirt and chances are, you'll be the only one wearing one. The focal point is the open kitchen where you can see the cooks prepare your meals.

Service 7/10
- friendly servers. Only gripe was when we had to follow up our orders, first for our steaks and second for the dessert. Other than that, service was smooth.

Food 9/10
- a loaf that consisted of three different kinds of bread: spinach, cheese and tomato. Perfectly baked, hard on the outside, warm and soft inside. Yum.
- ordered the scallops but we were told that it might take a while so we got the Louisiana Crab Cakes instead. Nice and light, it was served with an apple slaw and sauce remoulade.
- the Cru Caesar Salad was prepared tableside which was cool because I've never experienced anything like that. After constructing his masterpiece, our artisan waiter slathered the dressing on some lettuce and for a little taste test. After getting our nods of approval, he tossed the rest of the lettuce and topped it with big shards or parmesan and crispy pancetta slices. Oh, it was quite the spectacle.
- next up, the rib eye steak. 350 grams. 350. Grams. Nice crust on these bad boys. Seasoned just enough so you can still enjoy the natural flavor of the beef. For the side dishes, I got the Grilled Portobello Mushrooms (which I found just a tad too sweet) and the Whipped Potato.

My wife and I are big steak fans. If steak was a basketball or football team, we'd be rooting for them and buy steak jerseys and collect steak memorabilia. Needless to say, we liked what we experienced in this place.

Best steak in the country? Well, I haven't even tried EVERY steak in Manila to make that call but it sure ranks as one of the best I've tasted.

Cru Steakhouse is a reminder that you have to live once in a while. Or die. However you view devouring big chunks of meat, this place is highly recommended.

At first glance, a fancy and elegant vibe surprised us, as usual, just like in other fine dining restos.

The interior was perfect, it was evening so we had our dinner started at 6pm where the resto usually opens. The lights are calm, wines are all over the side well decorated, the kitchen is busy, the people are fancy and sophisticated and hell yeah the food served is awesome indeed. 128076128076128076

I personally ordered for Surf and Turf which costs me 2,000+ I think and the plate is good for 1 person only. However, I regret nothing.

My mom ordered for Salmon and my bro ordered for Baby Back Ribs.

I paid the whole bill. Yes lol
